It's easy to level up with Ventus, just D-link with a fully powered-up Mickey and you get double EXP for every enemy you beat. When you feel you're high enough, make [[Tornado]] with Ventus and when you fight Vanitas use tornado when right after he fires his big blue laser thing. Two times and one swing of the keyblade and you'll win. Roll around the whole time in between, and use the rest of your slots for elixirs, in case he hits you and your vision is blocked.
