Just a question, If it's for the 3ds (which I've never heard of) would it work on a normal DS as well? --173.64.12.25 22:11, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
|
i'm hoping that it will be playable on the normal ds, it just wont have the 3d effects to it. or maybe they'll make two versions of the game, but considering this game is being made for the 3ds it probably won't.--Soul reaper magnum 09:14, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
i hope that's how it is, and i think that the 3d effects being optional is a great idea. especially for people like me that don't like 3d effects in games.--Soul reaper magnum 03:28, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
The 3DS is entirely different hardware. It's not just the 3D effects that separate it from the DS. The game won't be playable on the (soon to be outdated) DS. 98.245.249.137 05:53, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Unlock
Can someone unlock the page for a minute or two? I need to make a small edit.--NinjaSheik 18:26, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah. The page should be locked only to IP's (it's times like this I wish you could select a group of regular users to be allowed editing rights when something's sysop-only). There are a few tweaks and additions to the article I'd like to make, as well. - Eternal Nothingness XIII 18:44, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
I know its protect so people don't speculate and stuff, but I won't take long. It's just a very tiny edit.--NinjaSheik 18:57, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
- All I wanted to do was add a list of characters confirmed to appear, and a descripition of the trailer based on how IGN described it. - Eternal Nothingness XIII 19:00, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
- If a page is locked due to constant edit warring, you're supposed to present your edit on the talk page so that the admin can add it, not ask for it to be unlocked and relocked several times. Not yelling, or anything, but that's the accepted way to do it. Could you please present your edits?
- There aren't any confirmed characters yet, are there? We just have a short trailer, that shows Sora and Riku. I think they could always remove that at any time, considering they had the Awakening and Deep Jungle in the CoM promotional materials, Great Crest in the KH2 trailers, Pinocchio's world and servant Nobodies in Days, etc... It's way to early in the development process to be claiming we have any confirmed info.Glorious CHAOS! 21:38, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts 3DS is not RE:Coded
In case you guys may be confused, Kingdom Hearts on the 3DS is not a 3d version of RE:Coded. It is an entirely different game (which is Awesome!) If you want some proof you can follow this link....
Original Title
Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto has confirmed that KH3D is an original title, not another rehash. http://www.khinsider.com/latest/kingdom-hearts-3d-at-e3-2010.html
I don't want to take anything from the demo trailer too seriously, but Sora having a dream about Twilight Thorn is pretty out there. After reading the trailer summary, the only missing piece is a description of Sora after he wakes up. Is it still KH1 Sora or is it KH2 Sora? If it's KH1 Sora then I don't know what to think, but if it's KH2 Sora then 3D is probably the sequel to Coded/ Re:coded. It will be the game about the "pieces laying where they fell" and Sora "picking up the pieces" and the "boy who is connected to everyone/thing" and "returning to the Darkness to free those who are crippled" and all of that.--XYZ. 16:07, June 17, 2010 (UTC)
Well here's my opinion, and its only speculation and what I WANT to have happen rather than what the game really may be, but my guess is that this game is like what's going on inside Sora's head while he was spending a year in hibernation after CoM. I don't think that the series is quite ready for the point where Sora is "picking up the pieces where they fell", because he's still in his KH1 clothing and appearance, and if what happens after coded is supposed to come after KHII he would have the older appearance and new clothes right? But it seems like it would make sense that this may be a dream world for Sora because if you think about it, the appearance of the Twilight Thorn might coincide with Roxas fighting the Twilight Thorn in KHII and the fact that its going on with Roxas would explain why its going on in Sora's head. Once again, this is just a guess of mine and no one really has to take it seriously, but I don't want another huge sequel that involves a bunch of Soras falling from the sky and him looking like he did in KH1. I suppose we'll find out soon enough though. Axel's Sentiment 19:10, June 17, 2010 (UTC)Axel's Sentiment
No I'm not entirely sure of that, although you make a good point, but I'm just making the point that it might show the link between Sora and Roxas. And as for Riku, his story might be the story of what he does while Sora is asleep, or something like that. Axel's Sentiment 21:37, June 17, 2010 (UTC)Axel's Sentiment
- We've already seen what Riku did while Sora was asleep. And if the "appearance of the Twilight Thorn coincides with Roxas fighting the Twilight Thorn", then it would have to be Sora's final boss, because that was Roxas's second to last day, as I recall.Glorious CHAOS! 00:12, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, if we go by the logic of "if Sora's dream relates to Roxa's actions," then the final boss of the game would have to be Axel, because he is the last enemy faced in Roxas's story. Tamroc7 00:27, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
Here's more information:
http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/06/18/nomura_on_kh_3ds/
Here's the gist of it:
- Kingdom Hearts 3D's development started with Square Enix hearing the general details of the 3DS system from Nintendo. They wanted to make a quick demo. Nomura already had a general framework for some gameplay systems and a story that he felt would match the 3DS's visual expression. Thus began the Kingdom Hearts 3D project.
- While the name "Kingdom Hearts 3D" isn't a final name, it does have something to do with the final name. The "3D" in this placeholder title does not stand for "3 Dimension," said Nomura, but is an abbreviation for the game's subtitle.
- Famitsu noted that while the game's E3 demo shows Sora and Riku as they appear in the first Kingdom Hearts game, they're presented in some situations that would be impossible for the first game. Replied Nomura to this, "This is because it's not a remake, but a completely original game. This time, Sora and Riku are the two main characters. We're currently in the process of selecting new worlds."
- Nomura said that the story would be something unexpected, something that to a certain extent breaks the developments that have taken place according to fan expectation. However, he did say that Re: Coded, the upcoming DS remake of Coded, would have some hints.
Not very revealing, but I'm pretty sure this is a sequel to Coded. A game about Sora's memories returning while he sleeps in the Memory Pod would be an uh interesting twist, I guess, but that could also be disastrous. Overall, it would be entirely pointless. Not to mention Nomura stated he's picking new worlds. That pretty much rules out a dream game. --XYZ. 02:40, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
- Soooooo it's time travel. Apparently Sora is "reconnecting" everything by going back and keeping the bad things from happening.
- It does have precedent in the series (Timeless River), and it would fit exactly with "breaks the developments that have taken place", as well as following directly from coded's ending, and explains why there would be new worlds that should be impossible for Sora to have gone to.
- I betcha. I betcha.Glorious CHAOS! 03:43, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
If you recall, before Sora and co. enter the door to Timeless River, Merlin warns them not to succumb to dark influences. I'm pretty sure that meddling with events that already occurred to alter the timeline and course of the KH universe's history is what he meant by dark. And now that you got me started on a total rant, Nomura has suggested that once a Heartless has been destroyed and the Heart returns to Kingdom Hearts, and the matching Nobody fades away, the Heart and Body can reunite in Kingdom Hearts and the complete being can be reborn. Although that has yet to happen, it totally ruins the idea of permanence within the series. And then to add Sora going back in time to alter history would just flat out ruin the series.--XYZ. 03:58, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
"'KH3D' will be a title that enters a new step to follow the three games whose production was announced simultaneously, '358/2 Days, Birth by Sleep, and Coded." -Tetsuya Nomura
I rest my case.--XYZ. 01:25, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

From what Nomura has told us, KH3D will be N3DS exclusive.--ΧƳƵach. 17:06, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
Nintendo just wants to sell more versions of the Ds, and they apparently want KH3D to be a special game. --Axel Lives On
17:10, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
The N3DS will most likely serve as the NDS' successor. The NDS is already the 2nd best selling console in the history of ever, right after PS2, so now try to imagine how well it will sell with 3D effect graphics and all of the features of the different models put together, but mostly with the 3D effect graphics. KH3DS is not a special game, have you read any of Nomura's interviews about it? Well I guess there is only one. What happened was he heard about the magic of the N3DS and threw some material together for a Demo. I doubt Nintendo is complaining about getting one of the better selling franchises onto their system, but Nomura actually went to them about it this time.--ΧƳƵach. 17:16, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
All of the articles about the N3DS state it as backward compatible with both NDS game and NDSi Ware. This would insinuate the N3DS games beings N3DS exclusive.--ΧƳƵach. 17:22, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
True. I mean, 3D with no special glasses!?!? That's pretty cool. It says that the game will link up the recent KH games:
- Coded
- 358/2 Days
- Birth by Sleep
And that they will also have new worlds in the game, but both Destiny Islands & Traverse Town have been seen. --Axel Lives On
17:23, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
The 3DS is a successor to the NDS line just because it have the word DS in it doesnt mean it is a redesign like the DS lite or DSi
not a remake and new worlds

Blank Points
This is the game featured in Blank Points, the young Sora and Riku are prototypes i just figured it out the 3 games, Re:coded= remake, can't be Blank Points, KH3= no info and Nomura said KH3 IS the last game in the trio and not Blank Points so this game is it.--My Keyblade + Your face = pwnage 15:47, July 8, 2010 (UTC)Chihuahuaman
Wait, when did Nomura state that KHIII was not Blank Points?
Not that I don't believe you, but I would like proof. Though, if you are right, it would make KH3D a good prologue to KHIII... Tamroc7 00:39, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

Title
User:One-Winged Angel|10:42 July 20, 2010|3D = 3 Doors ? Door to Light, Door to Darkness, and another door (Door to Nothingness?). What do you guys think?
Pure speculation. unless we get a real title with confirmation from Tetsuya Nomura, the title is not going to be changed.--My Keyblade + Your face = pwnage 18:59, July 20, 2010 (UTC)Chihuahuaman
I think if there were 3 Doors it would be Door to Light, Door to Darkness, and Door to Oblivion (meaning door to ven) but that's just my thoughts.[8:20 October 7, 2010] Infernoxgt
3 Doors, 3 Destinies, 3 Destinations or as the 3 could be third 3rd Door, 3rd Destiny, 3rd Destination, 3rd Darkness( a new enemy in darkness as the nobodies were inbetween or nothingness thus a new enemy in darkness being the third.) Hope this helped your speculation. - Xander19
hold it, hold it! I just thought of something similar: It COULD be a third enemy that sora and Co face. the heartless represent darkness, the nobodies represent "in-between" or nothingness. what IF the third enemy represents LIGHT?? I know it doesn't sound very likely but it does make sense in some cases. the unversed don't exist anymore because Vanitas bit the dust, so they're out of the picture. therefore a third enemy made of light would balance out the scales a bit. New KH 3D information.
From an interview with Nomura from Dengeki magazine:
- KH3D was created after Nintendo approached Tetsuya Nomura. Nomura has a unique idea for this game.
- KH3D will occur in the same timeline as current games.
- The two main characters will be Sora and Riku. Throughout the game, the two appear to be "alternating", creating a system of two people.
- This story is full of mystery, and will be beyond expectations. Due to the timeline, players will have to think hard about the idea, as to not *be fooled.
- The player will realise the scenario in time, but for the meanwhile it will be a mystery twist.
- Nomura cannot reveal more information at this time.
- The 3D system will be taken advantage of, but more cannot be said at this time.
- The theme of the game is "trust".
It's not much, but we can't ask for too much because Re:Coded still has to come out. And it does provide proof that KH3D occurs in the same timeline as current games. So until more information is out, enjoy what we now know. Tamroc7 21:47, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
My favorite line in that interview (which is not in your summary and i'm too lazy to find a link to,) Is that Nomura wants "A Riku that flies, and a Sora that falls." Which is also the lamest multiple language pun I'd have expected from him.204.211.185.107 19:16, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
Fill in the blanks
Okay, IO read in the Ansem reports the other day that there are four unexplained asences in the series: Xehanort befor HKI, Roxas between CoM and KHII, Mickey after KHII, and Riku before some other instance (sorry, it's a miracle I remembered the other three. Maybe Namine's messin' with my head?) The first three are already explained in BBS, 358/2 days, and :Coded. Anyone who agrees this one'll account for Rikus absencem say aye!
These are explained! Hello!? Xehanort before KHI is Terra, Roxas between CoM&KHII is 358/2 Days, Mickey after KHII is Coded! Pay attention to the series! --One-Winged Angel 01:55, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry! I was just stating that every other absence WAS explained (even though the page said unexplained)But if you read other comments on this page, I think my theory is slightly more sound. Sorry for typos and I know they were explained. Do you agree or not?
Oops. I'm...Sorry. I'm developing a bad habit of partially reading things so I didn't see you say they were explained. I think part of it is that I'm confused on how you seem to say Roxas, Mickey, and Riku are mentioned in the A. Reports? --One-Winged Angel 02:08, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, check the Riku page. I checked again and it said in the Ansen Reports, every other ansence but Riku's durring KHI (We've got no idea how he got the the other side of Kingdom Hearts door). And it's alright. I just hope someone agrees.
- Sorry, but I triple checked and it specifically says this period was explained in Coded. Check for yourself. Also, I'm surprised seeing you here. I'm Wh!te$tar on Digimon wiki!
- I already said, on the Riku page. It says so right in the trivisa that becusae every other absence was covered by a game, odds are one of the three unconfirmed games (most likely this one due to the KHI style characters) will fill his absence in.--Wh!te$tar 04:29, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, I've corrected it. Honestly, since you can play as Riku, this would fit more as his story, but Mickey's still hasn't been done.Glorious CHAOS! 04:58, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
so there is going to be Re:coded, 3D, and KHIII right?Oh,how the sea calls 05:56, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
What a bust. Oh,how the sea calls 06:44, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
THANK YOU!!! Now that we've got that cleared up, Nomura already stated KH3D was one of the three unconfirmed games. He specifically stated re:Coded was not one of those games. Finally, he said KHIII WAS one of those games, but it's still in conceptual stages. that being said, THERE'S STILL ONE MORE GAME TO LOOK FORWARD TO!!! ZOMG!--Wh!te$tar 19:02, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
- No, he specifically clarified in the GameInformer interview that he had been mistranslated by fansites, and that KH3 was "not even in the conceptual stages", and that there were absolutely no plans to do it as of now - like the situation for Birth by Sleep right after KH1 came out. It will probably be released, but no one, at all, is thinking about it right now. He also pretty heavily implicated that Re:Coded was one of the two upcoming games, as he said it was a special treat for North America. So, we pretty much know already what the hinted games are.Glorious CHAOS! 02:47, August 23, 2010 (UTC)
"Translations of your interview in the Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Ultimania seem to confirm that Kingdom Hearts III is coming along with two other games." / Tetsuya Nomura: "Kingdom Hearts III is not a confirmed title. I actually phrased my answer for the Ultimania "two titles other than III" to avoid speculation that we were working on Kingdom Hearts III." / Bryan Vore: "Are there any hints you can provide about these games?" / Tetsuya Nomura: "Hints would give away too much, and for Kingdom Hearts we're contractually obligated to keep any information that has not been officially released under wraps. However, I can say one of the two projects mentioned above came into existence because we wanted to do something for the North American fans, so we'll be announcing it at E3."
- Okay. I was reading off wikipedia, so I guess it was wrong. But I've got a question. Does anyone think this'll explain Riku's absence or not!?!
The problem is: what Mickey was doing between BbS and KHI? OK, he was in the Realm of Darkness, finding Kingdom Key D. But he took ten years to do that? And he didin't met with Aqua? I guess he did something else in the mid time.
- He was probably still training with Yen Sid. But this thread isn't about mickey or translations. It's about Riku! Do any of you guys even think my theory might be correct or not? I mean, c'mon. I read the other theories and they just don't make much sense to me. Is my idea THAT outrageous?--Wh!te$tar 00:08, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
I think the "period of Riku's absence" that Nomura was referring to is the period between CoM and KHII, which was partly explained during 358/2 Days. Sure, we don't know EVERYTHING that he did or the inexplicable aging mere days after the events of CoM, but you do see an overall view of just what Riku was doing while working for DiZ.
So I'm not jumping to any conclusions on what 3D is about, but I think that Riku's story has been told already.Tamroc7 13:18, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, but i still disagree. Sorry, but so far everyone's just been saying they think Riku's story is over. And it is a pretty big deal to me. I mean, can you honestly say you don't care about how Riku got intO Kingdom Hearts a mere few days after Xehanort's Heartless took over him. Secondly how did he escape Kingdom Hearts and get to Castle Oblivion? It's a plot hole you could drive a truck through!--Wh!te$tar 21:07, September 3, 2010 (UTC)`
I admit you make some good points, but there are some holes in your theory. The data we have on the game states it will present sora and riku in events that would be Impossible for the first game. I mean come on folks, twilight thorns don't usually appear in traverse town, and neither did riku, he apeared in hollow bastion first according to Com/Re:com. also Nomura revealed in an interview that the "Sora" here will not be the same Sora that we are familiar with. also to me, it just looks like a game where stuff from the other games is just smushed together for fun, i could be wrong, but its just what it seems to me. with the other games we could easily figure out how the games were connected to a certain degree. but this one has me stumped. it doesn't seem to fit with the other games, probably due to the old wardrobe. but come on! why would sora give up his drive forms for his old attire when his old attire is a drive form AKA limit form. I'm not trying to start anything or sound stupid but i just don't get ANYTHING about this game!! Chaosmage1
Why on earth is every characters 'Kingdom Hearts 3D' Story part in Other Appearances?
|
It's not that we don't think it's part of the canon, it's just that we don't know HOW it fits in with the rest of the story. No one knows how and when it takes place just yet, and the fact that Sora and Riku are presented in their KHI incarnations doesn't help us. So until we get a solid definition of when this takes place, it's in the "Other Appearances" section.
Besides, it was a demo. There's a chance that Nomura may make the final product look entirely different. Tamroc7 13:12, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
- That, and we only have a few screenshots and descriptions available - we don't even have access to the demo or trailer itself.Glorious CHAOS! 16:05, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, i was just wondering... will Kingdom Hearts 3D be shown at the upcoming TGS??? I sure hope so...--65.126.116.219 02:24, September 13, 2010 (UTC)
Sadly, there won't be a playable demo. The 3rd Birthday, Dissidia 2, and Re:Coded have that honor. However, they may show the E3 Trailer here, and maybe some details will be shown.
Of course, the 3DS may not even be there, but only time will tell. Tamroc7 02:47, September 13, 2010 (UTC)
KH3D has been featured in the TGS, and this is what we know:
- Release date is somewhere in Spring 2012.
- Sora and Riku have new clothes.
- Neku from TWEWY is a party member.
- Our new enemies, indicated by the new sign on the KH3D promotional background, are called Dream Eaters.
Much of the info we got from KHInsider, though other sites have been mentioning it as well. I covered the pictures and news on KHWiki's Twitter feed, but it's all thanks to 17master for prompting me to get info. TamboursNéant Ensemble ! 08:23, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
I've added the release date, new clothing, and Neku appearing in the game. And now we need sources that say Neku is a party member, the new enemies' name are Dream Eaters, and about having the bat and the dog as a support/party member to actually add the info on the article. The17master 10:15, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- Haven't we got the screenshot for Neku? TamboursNéant Ensemble ! 10:26, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
I asked for the screenshot mainly because of translation, more than anything else. Or if there is footage from the TGS proper, it'll be greatly helpful. TamboursNéant Ensemble ! 10:48, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Yes, a trailer or footage would be REALLY helpful right now... I can't shake off this feeling of excitement, and tons of questions are flowing in my hea- *head explodes* But seriously, a footage, renders (which SE will hopefully put on the website), or high quality screenshots would be the perfect source for now. The17master 10:56, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- Shouldn't there have been a trailer for KH3D at the very least? Or are they reluctant to render 3D footage into 2D for purposes of the trailer? TamboursNéant Ensemble ! 11:34, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- Uh? Didn't you already read the trailer-description from here: http://www.kh2.co.uk/kingdom-hearts-3d/news/kingdom-hearts-3d-trailer-description.php? Furthermore, there is said to be a closed theater with a full blown DDD Trailer for just 80 people presumed to be at the TGS Sephiroth0812 12:03, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Famitsu interview
The next issue of Famitsu Weekly will include an interview with the director of the Kingdom Hearts series, Tetsuya Nomura. Heartsation has translated a summary of this interview and at the bottom 3D was mentioned: - The next title is Kingdom Hearts 3D. The story takes place after Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded. Now that Re:Coded is over the Osaka team is meeting up and beginning development.
So it seems like that KH3D takes place after Re:Coded - JTD95 13:00, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

Just wait until the interview actually comes out to see whether or not he mentions it taking place after Re:coded.
Of course, I still stand behind the theory that some information may come out with the 3DS's release date news, which should be on the 29th, so we may get some solid answers. (But then again, this is Nomura we're talking about.) Tamroc7 02:15, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

The Nintendo 3ds conference
Ok, I don't know how someone has already done this to the article, but no were in that short interview did nomura say Anything that we have in the trivia section. (that and it directly contradicts previous interviews.66.56.199.131 20:08, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

Nomura: "Though it seems a tentative name, we have included "3D" in the new Kingdom Hearts game title. It also includes "3" which implies that this may be the third iteration of Kingdom Hearts. You'll be able to see what kind of game it will be like from this tentative name. With the encounters, and the contacts with others as the game's theme, you will grow with the character, with the characters in the game. But it's not Sora, whom you are familiar with. This time, you will realize growth by the effects of someone else. It's a unique, and more than a bit of a strange system, that we are trying to build this time. There are limits on the things that we can do in the universe of Kingdom Hearts, but the things we cannot do, we'd like to try them in other software. Starting from Kingdom Hearts, I'd like to work on several titles for the Nintendo 3DS."

- That doesn't mean Sora and Riku won't be the main characters. It could just mean that, while we play as them, nothing really important happens to them, and that, like in Days with Xion, we see the important things happening to somebody else.(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 14:53, October 8, 2010 (UTC)
well yeah, previous. The game's on development, there's bound to be mistakes and revisions. Nomura himself states that the main character won't be the same Sora we knew 17master 14:55, October 8, 2010 (UTC)
READ WHAT WAS POSTED. WATCH THE VIDEO. HE DIDN'T SAY THAT. All that aside, Nomura changes bit's and pieces sure, most of the trailers and concept art show differences from the finished project. But Nomura says that mostly he thinks of gameplay first before story and;
- KH3D was created after Nintendo approached Tetsuya Nomura. Nomura has a unique idea for this game.
- KH3D will occur in the same timeline as the current games.
- The Two main characters will be Sora and Riku. Throughout the game the two appear to be "alternating", creating a system of two people.
- Nomura wants "A Riku that flies, a Sora that falls."
- This story will be full of mystery and will beyond expectations. Due to the timeline, players will have to think hard about the idea, as to not be fooled.
- The player will realise the scenario in time, but for the meanwhile it will be a mystery twist.
- Nomura cannot reveal more information at this time.
- The 3d system will be taken advantage of, but more cannot be said at this time.
- The Theme of the game is "trust".

CALM DOWN what we mean is Sora and Riku are the main characters, BUT the "Sora" in the game is not the Sora we knew. Meaning that it might be an alternate form of Sora, like Data Sora. We didn't specifically said those two won't be the main character, we just pointed out that the Sora here is most likely will not be the same Sora we know. 17master 15:20, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

What Nomura meant by a Sora that falls and a Riku that flies?--Xabryn 16:07, October 8, 2010 (UTC)
|
Xabryn, It's a pun. because "Sora" is the japanese word for sky, and "Riku" is the japanese word for land. so, a "Flying land" and "Falling sky" implies, among other things, that their usual positions would be reversed. Also, I can't help but think that the part in the 3DS conference talking about characters has more to do with gameplay and how the characters "grow" and "level up", than anything else. http://www.siliconera.com/2009/12/28/is-this-one-of-tetsuya-nomuras-unannounced-games/
He doesn't say that this Sora is not the one we know, he says that growth is realised not by Sora but by "someone else".204.211.185.107 17:03, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

The European flag isn't there because 3D so far hasn't been confirmed to come here yet. Obviously it will be released in Japan, and since it was shown at E3 that pretty much confirms it to be released in the US and Canada too. I'm sure the game will come to Europe too, it just isn't confirmed yet...
Also, the thing you said about KH3D being like Re:Com all over again, it was pretty obvious what you actually meant... - JTD95 19:55, October 9, 2010 (UTC)

- ...I don't care whether or not it'll be released in NA. My main question is "Since the European flag doesn't appear in the Publisher(s) and Release date(s) sections, will KH3D be released in Europe or not?"

New 3D news
• The atmosphere in KH3D will be different from other titles. • There will be new worlds. • Re:Coded's ending and BBS' secret movies give hints as to what Sora has to do in future titles. • KH3D will be close to how CoM had a story for Sora and Riku, but it's not like they are going to be separated in this adventure. • Nomura wants to add three new "elements" to KH3D, things that wouldn't be possible to do on any console other than Nintendo 3DS. • Nomura is thinking about more titles apart from KH3D.
Again, we don't get much, but it sounds like Sora is still a main character. Tamroc7 17:09, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

Almost everything on the page is speculation - we need to clean things up. We don't know anything about the game in actuality, because the trailer has been called a tech demo.69.208.82.249 17:45, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

Except for "it will feature both Sora and Riku as playable characters, although using their Kingdom Hearts designs", everything on this page is a result of an interview or, in the case of the Trailer subsection, information taken directly from the trailer (and it belongs in this section; it hasn't spread to being regarded as canon). Nomura: " With the encounters, and the contacts with others as the game's theme, you will grow with the character, with the characters in the game. But it's not Sora, whom you are familiar with. This time, you will realize growth by the effects of someone else."
He is not saying that we will be unfamiliar with this Sora, He is saying that We are already familiar with Sora, and you're not going to grow with Sora, because we use him or encounter him, and grow with him in every KH game! So, we can't grow that much with Sora anymore, because we already know Sora, who he is as a person, how he behaves, some of his likes and dislikes, etc. We know/ "ARE FAMILIAR WITH" Sora already! Now we are going to realize the growths of someone else! I said this a long time ago. SO,
Whether or not what he meant still seems "vague" to you, you need to remove that line from the Trivia, since you're not sure what Nomura is saying, PS. RtG:

What we know so far...
I'm not gonna add on to this section. But could SOMEONE please make a list of every single rumor and confirmation about 3D in this section? Like this:
- What we know:
- Sora, Kairi, and Riku are all in the game.
- The game is directly connected to Reconnect: Kingdom Hearts
- The development team from BBS is also working on 3D
- Most worlds will be all new!
- Rumors:
- Mickey is in the game(btw im not actually saying he is, its just an example so everyone knows what im saying)
If someone could just do this that would be perfect. --Jacobmirror 20:39, November 12, 2010 (UTC)
- Everything we know is listed in the article. As for rumors...well, I'm officially starting the rumor that Kingdom Hearts 3D will introduce Disney Channel worlds, and Sora dumps Kairi for Hannah Montanna. And then actually goes to Montanna, and realizes that he should be dating...let's say Joey Fatone. BUT THEN HE MARRIES JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AND THEY FUSE TOGETHER INTO A HYBRID SORA/NSYNC BEAST.
That is why it's always a bad idea to catalogue rumors.(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 21:16, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

After reading This article, I'm wondering if KH3D takes place after Re:Coded then that could explain their original KH appearance because Yen Sid mentioned in Re:Coded that Mickey should bring Sora and Riku to him and take the Mark of Mastery exam, so this all could be a part of the test or could have some sort of time traveling adventure. --BurstDragon 10:37, November 17, 2010 (UTC)
I doubt it, but its not a bad thought either. Definitely an interesting theory, and an interesting plot for a fanfic too. Maybe someone should write one with that plot. --Jacobmirror 22:04, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

New interview: relevant portions:
“Kingdom Hearts 3D revolves around the Mark of Mastery exam. At the moment we are continuing in the trial and error stage, figuring out what kind of axis the system will be based on, etc.”
“In 3D you will be able to play as Sora and Riku, but we are considering making their main operation systems different. In Chain of Memories they both used cards but they used them differently. We’re thinking about having two types of play styles like that.”
“Even though it’s a secret as to why Sora and Riku appear in their Kingdom Hearts outfits, it’s essential for the story.”
“As for the worlds, outside of Traverse Town and the other originals, we plan on making all of the Disney ones new.”
“3D is connected to Kingdom Hearts III. The plan is to show how the characters level up, along with the play system and story, they are connected to KH3. It’s fair to assume that the ending of 3D will continue into the story of KH3.”
“The Kingdom Hearts series has fundamentally been a single player game. Since it’s different than the Final Fantasy series which is founded on party play, the way the characters level up is different. Because there are various things that can and can’t be done, the things I can’t do in Final Fantasy Versus XIII I’m doing in Kingdom Hearts. Still I think those sorts of differences are there.”
I've added a few bits from this, but most of the development info still needs to be added. Also, all material added based on this interview needs to be cited to the famitsu interview, with the full quote within the cite, and "(translated by heartstation)" with a link to the translation within the cite.(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 15:15, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

About the upside-down Keyblade weilding, if you look closely in many cutscenes they do that. For example in the cutscene "The Last Bastion of Free Will" when the Lingering Will is created when it lifts the Ends of the Earth out of the ground the teeth are facing down, but Terra's fighting style has teeth facing up. Also when ever Roxas summons the Oathkeeper and Oblivion it always shows the teeth for both Keyblades facing downward but during acuall gameplay the teeth face up. So I don't really consider this to be a topic worth discussing but that's just me. LightoftheDarkness 05:00, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

I also know, after studying French for a few years, what Paris looks like (you get shown a lotta maps of France and Paris when you're taking French classes). It's an island, and the shape seemed to feel right to my memory. As well, when he was approaching the ground, there was a medieval-style-patterned tent. Overall, my heart swelled when I realized this is proof that they're putting in Hunchback, even without confirmation. (Then again, they did want to put Pinocchio's world into 358/2 Days, and Nintendo Power even said it'd be in it, but we know what happened with that...)FT 04:00, February 14, 2011 (UTC)

DDD Icon
I know this is likely rather meaningless, but I noticed the icon for DDD is a purple KH symbol. The logo of the game isn't purple, just the letters. The logo itself is grey. I thought that a more adequate icon would be a grey symbol like the one for CoM, with a purple 3D in the middle like the Re games. Just a thought. EnglishJoker 15:47, January 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Have you seen the logo of BBS? We didn't do it for that, and since we tend not to add lettering except for remakes and reissues, there's no reason to do it for this. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 01:10, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

- OK. It was just a thought anyway. And the BBS logo is a little different, Neumannz, because it was already light blue, so it wouldn't need the letters "BBS" to show it was "Birth by Sleep". And one other thing: it may be irrelevant, I know, but am I the only one who's willing to bet that the Kingdom Hearts III logo will be green? EnglishJoker 22:16, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

- If you look closely at the heart in the BBS logo, it's actually grey. Only the words are light blue. (I remember we had a discussion about it when BBS, Days, and coded were coming out. I think DTN was the one who colored it blue...) --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 22:21, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

- Generally, the icon needs to match the color scheme of the official logo, sometimes with text to differentiate between two games of similar palettes. Also, is it just me, or does the logo look more pink than it does purple? --DTN 23:24, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
Eh, it's in between. I took the color directly from the logo, so I wasn't really aiming for one or the other. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 23:29, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, Neumannz, you're right. The BBS logo is grey. I guess there was so much blue in the words that the whole thing looked light blue. So I suppose you've got a point. EnglishJoker 19:40, January 24, 2011 (UTC)
- Wait a moment. What happened to the icon all of a sudden?? It's gone. EnglishJoker 10:03, January 28, 2011 (UTC)
- Kryten commented it out because people kept adding it to pages without confirmations. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 16:45, January 28, 2011 (UTC)
May I suggest that we make the DDD icon's heart central gray, but highlighted in purple, like the BBS one? --LegoAlchemist 21:27, January 28, 2011 (UTC)
- Go for it. The current icon is just what I did up with my mediocre 'shopping skills. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 21:32, January 28, 2011 (UTC)
Gameplay Section
So, from the argument over my addition of a gameplay section, it's been removed because apparently what we see in the trailer isn't really anything at all, even though the entire page is made up of stuff from both trailers, videos, and magazine articles. Then I'm told that "a trailer=/=magazine article." Then you should get rid of that entire section marked "Trailer," because all that is is a description of a trailer people can't see, and subsequently can't tell if it's true. However, I make a Gameplay section, mentioning things CLEARLY shown in the 1st Production Premiere Trailer (Which you guys have in a neat little Video Gallery down at the bottom), and suddenly we have no proof? There's a video! Right there at the bottom!
A Wiki is supposed to gather information, I gathered information from the trailer, and put it down. I've done it extensively with Dissidia 012 trailers and gameplay videos, and people LOVE our site for it. And if anything is wrong, it can always be changed. no big deal. That's what happens when more information comes to light. The more information you can reveal, and the sooner, makes you guys a much better place for people to get information. I put down information extrapolated from a trailer. I didn't make it up. It's all there. Derekoe 23:41, January 24, 2011 (UTC)
The difference there is that having a gameplay section makes it look like what you've posted has been officially confirmed. We have a trailer section because that is pretty much the only information we have on the game right now, but it is clearly prefaced that it is only in the trailer. Just because something is in the trailer doesn't mean that it will make it into the game. RoxasNobody
- That section only covers the E3 2010 trailer. the 1st Production Developer's Conference trailer material is absent, which you may proceed in doing, RoxasNobody. maggosh 00:23, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
I have to say, Derekoe is right! All he wrote is clearly shown in the trailer. It's no rumor or speculation but officially anounced. I mean... what is a trailer, if not an official announcement? Don't you think, it was Nomura, who has decided, what to put in the video? So where is the difference between the trailer and an interview, or something? Of course, all informations of the trailer can change later in development... that's true... but does that mean, the informations of an official interview can not change?
Don't get me wrong, I really respect you guys for always looking at the source of all the informations. But that can be exaggerated, too. I mean, isn't that the purpose of wikias? To gather informations and correct them if they *really* seem to be wrong. That's what I (as one of your readers) would expect anyway... for me, it's just another reason to follow the page. --Drace 01:44, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
Trailers are not always accurate. When early trailers of BBS came out, even those with gameplay, they had scenes and gameplay mechanics absent from the final game. Chitalian8 01:49, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, all gameplay mechanics were present; you're thinking of the interface that was changed. With the exception of the DKSigma3 trailer, of course. maggosh 02:57, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
- either way, things changed, which means that the early trailers aren't 100% accurate. that's why we still aren't using the 3D game icon on any of the pages, even though the trailers clearly showed tons of stuff that we could use it on--ShadowsTwilight 03:16, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
- And that's why we should fear these informations and ignore them? Isn't there a difference between "wrong" and "most likely, but may change later"? Why is the trailer still on the page, if it can't be trusted? Why was the page once called "3D"... we knew, it is just a tentative title. That just makes no sense. Seriously... if we're all always afraid of unprobable changes of informations *in the future*, we should close this whole page! EVERYTHING can change later, started by the title, down to the story and ended by the gallery. Come on, it's ridicoulus! We can always just put the actual informations on this wiki... every reader knows that! This is still just a fanpage, not the Now York Times, or something. And I still don't get, why the trailer isn't a trustable source, but the first look on the E3 is. Why do you think, informations out of an interview can NOT change later? I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed. I thought a good wiki should be as informative as possible and not just trustfully. Of course, it's important to look at the source, but this is just exaggerated. Drace 12:29, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
I've just got to say, putting in "gameplay info" just based on snapshots from trailers is one of the few things I heavily dislike about the FFWiki. And my mind is boggled on how you could interpret any gameplay out of that thing - we saw a few shots of Riku bouncing off walls, and Sora gliding, neither of which are actual gameplay mechanics; just like "sticking his Keyblade down Cerberus's gullet" is not a gameplay mechanic of Kingdom Hearts II. Furthermore, "The more information you can reveal, and the sooner, makes you guys a much better place for people to get information." is only true if your information is useful and accurate - speculations on a game no one will be able to play for many months absolutely fail those criteria."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 22:18, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, I see.
Based on the Square-Enix's 1st Production Premiere Conference trailer, gameplay seems to feature the Command Deck system used in Birth by Sleep and Re:coded (or something similar to it). In the trailer their deck contains the staple Fire, Thunder, and Blizzard commands, as well as the normal Attack command. Sora and Riku also have access to the new, purple "Drop" meter, although the mechanics of it have not yet been revealed. Sora and Riku also seem to be able to perform many acrobatic maneuvers, seen grinding on railings, jumping back and forth off walls, and swinging from lamp poles while they attack Heartless.
You didn't see a problem with this? The tone of constant confusion and speculation makes us seem like we're stoners or something."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 22:24, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
All I know is that when a magazine article covers what little news they are given about a game, they also extrapolate to almost that same extent from what they see, and from what they know. We see something very similar to the Command Deck, we see Sora and Riku grinding, bounding, and swinging. That's what the gameplay section talks about. It doesn't mention any details out of no where. It's not like I said "Acrobatic feats will be powered by the Drop meter," which is totally speculation. I talked about things that are clearly seen in the trailer, it's not speculation. IT'S RIGHT THERE! I mention that the Command Deck is present, and that you can do crazy acrobatics, and that there's a new "Drop" meter. If it all changes when more information is divulged, then so be it. That's what every damn news agency does. They report what they know, and then update when they know more. If you just sit tight and say "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is coming out" with the small bits of information you have, and then not update until you have solid evidence, people will overlook it. Any information, no matter how small, as long as it has a source (like mine did), is good.
And my apologies, but you can't cite a "tone of confusion" when just about every trailer Kingdom Hearts has ever had confuses the hell out of everyone.Derekoe 20:48, January 26, 2011 (UTC)
- I can certainly cite a "tone of confusion" if the passage sounds like it was written while toking.
- You claim that it features the command deck system, which is speculation. You claim that they can perform many acrobatic maneuvers - that is speculation, the bits they do in the trailer could easily be part of a reaction command or mini-game, just as in Kingdom Hearts II.
- And, again, this is not a news site. It is an encyclopedia. Part of being a (responsible) encyclopedia means waiting to fact-check info. Vomiting up guesses based on split-second snippets from a trailer far, far in advance of the finalized game is wildly irresponsible, especially when every time that's been attempted in the past, it was shown to be a mistake."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 21:14, January 26, 2011 (UTC)
I claim it features the Command Deck because it is there, plain as day. Anyone who has played Birth by Sleep or Re:coded knows that system. I claim that they can perform many acrobatic maneuvers because they do. I never stated how they go about it. It could very well be a Reaction Command mechanic. It would be different if I tried to claim HOW the mechanics were utilized, like "Sora and Riku are seen performing acrobatic feats, used in a similar way as the Reaction Command system." We both know that that statement isn't true, because we don't know how it's utilized, just that it is in some way. We see it there as plain as day, just like the Command Deck. The game is "making use of the system's 3D technology such as "falling from high places" and "flying far distances"" as stated in the article, and then the entirety of the gameplay shown is of them doing nothing but acrobatic feats that perfectly exemplify those 3D features. Why would they show us such a crazy, well-defined mechanic if it were subject to change and even not be included? It'd be like having shown people how Reaction Commands work, and then just removing it from Kingdom Hearts II entirely half-way through development, after having already essentially promised the new feature.Derekoe 07:13, January 27, 2011 (UTC)
- No, what you see is a list of techniques with "Command" at the top. It could easily be the same system as KH1 and KH2, there's no need for it to be the Command Deck system.
- The second half of your bit is pure speculation, and unfounded at that - they have removed entire worlds in pretty much every game since the first (Hell, in CoM they removed two), and have consistently revamped the system as time goes on. For example, they said they originally planned to have Lion Sora in KH1, but couldn't get it to work.
- Again, there is no point to a section devoted to gameplay that is based purely on guesswork from a snippet of a trailer released far, far in advance of the actual game. We know for a fact that virtually everything they put out now will be changed by the time the game is released; it's happened literally every time before. If you want to report what specifically is seen in the trailer (no fluff like you had above about "we don't know this, something similar to this"), that can be done in the trailer section, but putting the guesswork in a prominent spot like you did asserts authority and accuracy it simply doesn't have."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." New Enemy?
I was looking at the banner on the Japanese Official site, and I noticed there was a symbol we haven't seen before. Its like the heart-part of the Unversed symbol, but with two little things on the sides and a bit coming off of the bottom... I'll just go upload it to the wiki. Anyways, did anyone else notice it? i think the music is called "Destati", or it might be a different version. EDIT:indeed it is epic LapisScarab. Xavnirs 13:41, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

The relevant bit is actually the first question:
You were able to officially announce the title. Is it to be read "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance"?
Nomura: No, "Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance". The subtitle portion can be abbreviated, I suppose you can call it "Kingdom Hearts 3D".
So yeah, that's still how you read it. It's not the official title of the game, which is seriously right there on the logo."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 14:49, February 4, 2011 (UTC)
KrytenKoro... why are you so stupid? Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance is the name of the game!!!--KRoNoS 16:43, February 4, 2011 (UTC)

- I think what he's trying to say is that you can't have both "3D" and "Dream Drop Distance" in the same sentence. It's either Kingdom Hearts 3D or Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. Otherwise the title would be "Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance: Dream Drop Distance." J. Severe (Tryin' to find his place in the world, one wiki at a time!) 22:26, February 4, 2011 (UTC)

The title of the game is what you see in the bloody logo. How it is pronounced is a different story. If 3D makes another random logo change to "Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance", then we can change the name. --LegoAlchemist 01:27, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Notre Dame in trailer
I know it sounds like speculation, but I think it's safe to say that the scene with the Bells ringing are from Notre Dame, because I just compared that bit in the trailer with the beginning of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the bells' structures look EXACTLY the same, and Nomura did say there would be a Hunchback-based world. The shots of the river and Sora falling are maybe still uncertain, but the Bells are definitely Notre Dame. I think it should be put in the article now, because it seems too obvious to require a citation. EnglishJoker 17:10, February 14, 2011 (UTC)
- Blasphemy!
- But seriously, even if we can pretty much take it as a given that that's the HoND world, what would you write in the captions that wouldn't be A) speculating on a name or B) awkward sounding? And don't say "Paris", there's only a chance that Paris will actually be mentioned in the game.
- And of course there's always the question of "how obvious is obvious enough", but I'll leave that alone for now. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 19:01, February 14, 2011 (UTC)
- It used to say "Sora is seen running through the Bell Tower inside Notre Dame". "Notre Dame" is the cathedral, not the world, so it's not speculation, and even if it is, then we can say "Sora is seen running through the Bell Tower in a Hunchback of Notre Dame-based world". EnglishJoker 19:59, February 14, 2011 (UTC)
- ...Which sounds totally awkward. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 20:05, February 14, 2011 (UTC)

- "The Heartless are due to the many types of darkness. However, these exist in the "World within sleep". Those who eat dreams, the "Dream Eaters". Also, it is known that there are two types of "???" and "???"."

Protection
Why the devil has this page been protected from editing??? We should unprotect it so we can at least put up the new trailer (which has now come online in HD) and a synopsis. EnglishJoker 11:06, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
- This is the reason and I already mentioned that the lock is unnecessary but there was not response to that. Xabryn 13:03, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Should I change the protection levels to 'registered users only'? Because I've been keeping track of the information myself, and it's not speculation. We've had that scan translated, we've had Shard check the symbols, we've even had the leaked footage from the TGS trailer, which, though not clear, reveals enough details for now.
I seriously think we should edit where it is fit, and then give me one more nod to lock the page after that. TamboursNéant Ensemble ! 13:06, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
- I have no problem with people editing this page with the information from the new trailer, as long as that information stays within the trailer section and its made clear the info is not conclusive. I'm getting really bewildered that people think it's appropriate to do things like rewriting a character's personality section based on two seconds of a grainy trailer.
- Seriously, guys? The trailer info stays on this page until the game's release. It makes no sense to be building articles based on trailers. Official announcements and magazine articles can be argued for, but the only thing that ever comes out of a trailer are personal interpretations and speculation."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 13:26, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Never mind the trailer info, what about the trailer proper? I remember when we edited BBS we even included the TGS trailer when it was released... TamboursNéant Ensemble ! 13:33, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
- I'm perfectly fine with that. It's the speculation and unverifiable info spreading to the other pages that bothers me."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 17:24, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
- Protecting this page won't stop that anyway. So come on, let's unprotect this page so we can put the trailer up and a few more details that Nomura just revealed in Famitsu, such as the 4th and 5th districts of Traverse Town and how the game is now 60-70 % complete. EnglishJoker 10:01, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

TGS 2011 Information Update
I heartily *ducks* request an update based off of information recently released online, all courtesy of kh13.com!
First off, and most important to me, is the full-screen official TGS 2011 trailer!! That link goes to YouTube, where you can view it with Closed Captioning for English subtitles. (KH13 nabbed it from the official site.) It's awwwwwwesoooooome.
Second, let's take a look at this week's Famitsu interview with Tetsuya Nomura on the game, which reveals it's about 60-70% complete and due out in Spring 2012, and see if we can't glean any info from there.
Also, Famitsu screenshots! I think it's worth noting what KH13's captions for some of these pics are:
- Sora bouncing on Wonder Cat
- Riku fighting Kuma Panda
- Sora fighting Kuma Panda
- Sora fighting Kuma Panda
- Sora fighting the Nightmare, Wonder Cat
This of course may just be them, or translations of these Dream Eaters' names, but hey.
But yeah, can someone who's got some leverage maybe post some of this info up onto the page? FT 18:53, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Whoa, case in point with the interview thingy--"There are two types of Dream Eaters, your enemies called “Nightmares” and those that fight alongside you as companions called “Spirits”." I think this might be important! Plus it explains the different yet similar symbols on your companions and on your enemies.FT 18:55, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- I have unlocked the page. However, to everyone:
- Anything you add based on a trailer needs to stay in a section devoted to that trailer. It does not get spread to the rest of the article, and certainly not to the articles at large. I'm looking especially at the Drop Gauge here, which people swore up and down was reliable enough to post. Well guess what, apparently they replaced it with this "Dual Link" thing.
- EVERY SINGLE THING added needs to be cited, to a PRIMARY source. It does not get added to the main part of the article unless the info is explicit from the source—if you have even the slightest hint of doubt about what a scene is showing, you gotdamn bloody fucking buggering don't add it.

Canonicity
Now we all know that Tetsuya Nomura himself confirmed that the teaser shown at E3, which showed a few brief clips and ended with Kingdom Hearts 3D DEMO was non-canon. I suppose that's why it was never released to the public and why its not on this page. But what bothers me now is that some users think the second trailer, shown at the Square Enix Premier Party, is also non-canon. That's the trailer which showed some gameplay videos and ended with Sora and Riku, in their original KH attire, facing Xemnas and Ansem in Traverse Town, and revealed the game's name to be "Dream Drop Distance". As far as I know, Nomura never said whether or not this second trailer is canon, but some users appear to have decided that the trailer is non-canon just because it shows Sora and Riku in their original clothes, and according to what we've heard, Nomura HIMSELF commented that they will be shown this way for a specific reason, and they even briefly appear in those clothes in the recent TGS 2011 trailer. The reason I'm bringing this up is because Ansem and Xemnas appear in the Premier Party trailer and for that I put the DDD icon on their pages, but it keeps getting deleted because the users are speculating that this second trailer, like the first teaser, is non-canon, and I've just received a warning for reverting it. This ought to be discussed, I think. EnglishJoker 19:54, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
|
- But then this is all speculation once again. Just because two trailers seem to contradict each other doesn't mean that one is full of info that won't be in the game. We've seen the Heartless, Ansem and Xemnas in one trailer, so I think it'd be best if we labelled them as appearing in DDD for now, and when the game comes out and they're absent, we take the icon off and put something like "they were briefly shown in the trailer for DDD but did not appear in the final game". Doing otherwise seems to defeat the whole purpose of avoiding speculation. EnglishJoker 21:47, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
A trailer is not a game. KRCCFNF is tired of being STEPPED ON. 21:48, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Yes, a trailer is not a game. I think many people are forgetting that the trailers are released during different stages of development. It's no surprise that things will change as the game gets closer to completion. Saying the Premiere trailer isn't canon is a bit much. Kamikaze Pardee 21:53, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Trimming Down the Gallery
|
|
|
|
- There should absolutely be a separate gallery. For the current screenshots:
- Anything that appears within the trailer videos should be removed entirely (deletion) unless it depicts a gameplay mechanic or is used in another article; these images should still be marked as "betterpic" with a note to replace them with an image from the finished game.
- The images used to illustrate mechanics should be shown in the Development section where possible. Any leftover mechanics screenshots should be on the external Gallery page.
- All character renders should be removed entirely (from external and internal Galleries, but can remain in use on other articles).
This should leave us with the poster artworks, and promotional screenshots from unavailable trailers, as we have on the other high-quality Game pages. The poster artworks also need to give credit to wherever they were published (TGS? Famitsu? What?).192.249.47.196 23:48, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, now that I look at other game articles, the only type of gallery they have is for packaging artwork. Thus the gallery should be removed altogether. - Eternal Nothingness XIII

Space Paranoids
If it was confirmed that all of the Disney worlds are new, then why is Space Paranoids listed? 74.90.6.206 15:11, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

I wasn't, Disney Town is it's own world in BBS, while Disney Castle was it's own world in II. Mysterious Tower also became it's own world in the same way, as part of Twilight Town in II, but it's own world in BBS. --Starwarder8 20:46, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not a collaborative user, but I give my opinion:
- The Space Paranoids of KH2 and this world of KH3D are two different worlds. If you remember, KH2 reveal that the system created by ENCOM was copied by Ansem the Wise and used in his personal network. That copy is the KH2's Space Paranoids, meanwhile the original system is the KH3D's Space Paranoids, destroyed by Heartless before KH and submerged in sleep after sealing Kingdom Hearts.
- I haven't seen they around here, but if you are interested, the Black Guards will appear[10]. --Con Carne Is that your final answer? 12:00, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Unknown3619 15:33, 11 January 2012 (UTC) 7?! What happened to 13? Are there going to be other playable worlds? I mean Space Parinoids was in the new trailer but it isnt confirmed as a world that is asleep yet.
- We don't have proof it is, but at the same time, we don't have proof it isn't. Not to mention that they explicitly said 7 Worlds. And where was it written that they were 13 Worlds? Ay, dios mio! I might be late tomorrow. - Erry 15:42, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Unknown3619 15:46, 11 January 2012 (UTC) well the number 13 always shows up in kingdom hearts. 13 worlds, 13 letters in kh, its everywhere.
- Just because something is everywhere doesn't mean it is necessarily necessary. For example, there is light everywhere, but is there in fact light everywhere? Ay, dios mio! I might be late tomorrow. - Erry 15:54, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Unknown3619 15:58, 11 January 2012 (UTC)????? Im sorry but in the words of Riku:"riddles were never my thing" I know that it might just be 7 worlds and they might change the 13 thing, I was just a little suprised is all.
No sources?
Allegedly, there's no sources for the following statements, so that means whoever added them was making up things about what Nomura had said.
If it does turn out these are real, though, we should definitely put them back in the article.
Nomura has also stated that the game will feature numerous flashback sequences told from Xehanort's point of view, among them the game's opening scene. Nomura has confirmed that there will be seven worlds to awaken in the World of Sleep.

New stuff or not?
Nintendo have announced that they will be running a third "Nintendo Direct" event tomorrow, at 8PM on February 22, in Japan. Like the first two, this will be livestreamed on the Nintendo website. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance appeared at the first two events, with the first containing new content, and the second a rehash of the short Jump Festa 2012 trailer. This makes it likely that Kingdom Hearts 3D will be shown again, but it is unknown if we will see new footage or not.
As the event will be livestreamed online, KH13.com will be covering the event and providing a livestream on the KH13 website. they will update this news post with a livestream and chatroom close to when the event starts, so make sure you come and watch it. In order to determine what time the event is in your timezone, please check the list below.

Downloadable and DLC
So are we to make a "List of Downloadable Content of Kingdom Hearts" article? Especially seeing as KH3D is the first and only Kingdom Hearts game that is not only sold on physical media but also digital media, it's up on the Japanese Nintendo eShop for 6,090¥ which is 76$. Also minor note about the update, once it is installed, a small "Ver 1.1" note is located at the top left of the bottom screen in the main menu. Ay, dios mio! Language in Pages
In the Story section of 3D, the phrasing "stabbing Braig through the chest with it" seems unnecessarily drastic. I started writing this talkpage bit also remembering the KH1 Story section that said "Sora impales himself with his keyblade", but I went back to verify, and it seems that's fortunately been changed in the past. We all know, I think, that 'stabbed' is pretty inaccurate - I'd be surprised if there were an actual piercing of skin going on, canonically. Describing it that way seems like the fan who wrote it trying to make it edgier or grittier than it really is. I didn't change it since it's just my opinion, but is anybody else put off by someone trying to darken it up for no adequate reason? It's not as though it would be hard to put it a different way. Here.
"Terra-Xehanort responds by summoning Master Xehanort's Keyblade and attacking Braig with it, extracting his heart." Would that be suitable? It's a little embarrassing the way it is, frankly. Who are we trying to impress? Feels angsty. --OfficialJab (talk) 03:17, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
- I'm all for this, we generally try to be as non-gruesome as possible around here. LightRoxas 03:25, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
- Except that "stabbing" is a motion, it does not imply blood. The motion that Xehanort used was stabbing, not merely "attacking".
- If it was a matter of tone, you would be right. However, you're asking to exchange an accurate description with one that is far vaguer."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 04:20, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
- It's easy to mistake stabbing (looking up actual definitions, piercing is actually often included) with piercing. The clarity of how exactly he uses the weapon in that scene isn't an issue anyways, is it? It could just say 'uses Master Xehanort's Keyblade and forcibly extracts Brag's heart' and all of the information is communicated, without misconceptions or semantics getting in the way at all. --OfficialJab (talk) 06:16, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- Also, by the way, it currently says "through the chest with it". That really gives an impression that it's more violent than what really seems to be occurring. --OfficialJab (talk) 06:19, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- Look up "stabbing motion" in a dictionary, please.
- And his Keyblade does go through Braig's chest, so I'm not sure why you think that is inaccurate; each of the three definitions for "stab" on dictionary.com are quite accurate for what we see. I don't see how the verb "stabbing" incurs any misconceptions in the reader, as it is quite literally what is going on. Disney movies and Final Fantasy games each have plenty of stabbing, so it's not like this is "abnormal subject matter", either.
- If there was an unrealistically dark interpretation of subject matter on the pages (for example, "Roxas and Namine are essentially Sora and Kairi's children and they appear to have a weird love quadrilateral with their own children/siblings"), that would be an appropriate situation to say "Hey, this is inappropriate and embarrassing for the wiki". As politely as I can say, though, you appear to be trying to censor the plain facts of the storyline because they are too "gruesome" for your tastes, and that simply isn't going to fly."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 07:00, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- EDIT CONFLICT: Are you kidding? It seems plenty violent to me. Don't confuse "violent" with "gory". What happens here is definitely a violent action. Do you dispute that it is a stabbing motion that is occurring here? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 07:04, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not bothered by the word stabbing, as that is what happened. But I wouldn't exactly say he stabbed it "through" his chest, because that does suggest that the blade went not only into Braig's chest but out of his back as well (in other words a "through-and-through"), which it didn't. Stabbing it "into" his chest sounds more accurate to me. Blackchaos27 (talk) 07:40, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
Welp, that's why I didn't make an edit, we're a team here. Just seems like it comes off much more strongly than how it looks. I won't fight it. --OfficialJab (talk) 03:57, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

Years Since BBS
|
How do we know the amount of time between KHII and KH3D? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 19:42, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
- All I know is that KHII takes place one year after KH1, which is ten years after BBS; thus, the time between BBS and KHII is eleven years. Sora and Riku were stated to be fourteen and fifteen, respectively, in KH1, and they both appeared at the respective ages of four and five. As over twelve years have been confirmed, they are sixteen and seventeen, respectively, in KH3D. But the amount of time between KHII and KH3D? Even I don't know. UxieLover1994 21:26, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
- Well for all we know, the dozen years between BbS and 3D may only be just a rough estimate. 11 is only one number from a dozen (12). A dozen could be just a slight exaggeration. But at the same time it could actually have been a year between KH2 and 3D. One thing to take into account, is that in Blank Points, where Ansem the Wise meets Aqua, he estimated that it had been a year or so since he had seen Sora, and that was shown before the scene where Sora, with Mickey's letter in hand, decides to going on a journey to find the lost Keyblade wielders. Blackchaos27 (talk) 21:52, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
- And don't forget that King Mickey wrote the letter after the events of coded. UxieLover1994 00:08, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
- About what Ansem said to Aqua it seems he was saying that year passed since Chain of Memories, see [11].--109.173.173.78 15:11, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
- If that's true, then it adds on to this confusion. But he did get to see Sora, awake and active, just before he blew up... UxieLover1994 21:40, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah. That's what I thought he meant. Then again, did say "Back then, my heart was clouded by vengeance." which is what he realized by the time of the infiltration. So he could've been referring to CoM. But it's confusing because Ansem only 'saw' Sora asleep during that time. He didn't actually 'meet' Sora until the Castle That Never Was. So why did he say he 'met' him then when he only 'saw' him then? Of course, there is the fact that during his conversation with Aqua his memories were hazy because of the explosion, or he was just speaking figuratively. Still, it doesn't make it any less confusing. Blackchaos27 (talk) 22:44, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

Return to title screen
Well, I was trying to see Kingdom Hearts in Riku's side in The World That Never Was. You know that without a circle pad, holding R+L allow you to control the camera... so, while holding these buttons, I pressed start to pause the game... then it returned to the title screen o.O Then, I entered a game file and tried to do it again and it worked. I never knew about this. this is very useful, since you don't have to restart the game card to play in another game file. Is this something special on KH3D or can it be done on other KH games? Should this be added somewhere in the article, such as Trivia? - MateusinhoEX 23:51, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
It's actually in many games. I haven't played all of them, but as far as Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep go, they do the same thing. By pushing the L1, R1, L2 (PS2 only), R2 (PS2 only), START and Select buttons at the same time, it sends you to the title screen. Actually, no that I think about it, I'm not sure if it's Kingdom Hearts or Kingdom Hearts II that does that, but I know it's one of the two. - KeybladeSpyMaster 00:33, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Well, is it really necessary to have? The game is out, after all. Were there any specific differences in the demo?--NinjaSheik 03:27, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- I don't think it would hurt to have a section for the demo. In it, we could describe what it covers, as I'm sure not everything in the full game could be accessed as far as gameplay features… - Eternal Nothingness XIII 03:30, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
In the demo main screen, there's a "Tutorial" button to play a few of the basic tutorials (which are taken from the Momentos) and when you actually play the game, you start off with Sora in Traverse Town with a pre-set Command Deck (you can't access the menu when you pause) and I think it ends with the first drop, where Riku should pick up from. - Well, I'm not against it. The FFWiki does stuff for demos, but of course, this isn't the FFWiki. I don't see why anyone would be oppose to it, so I'm okay with the idea.--NinjaSheik 21:54, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- It would be nice to also have some coverage of the downloadable trailer."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 17:50, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Game Quotes for the new game
Can anyone talk about the game of Aqua's final story? it's all thanks to the demo I saw and found on youtube. Or... prefer to do the release on new year's day... Kunoichi101 (talk) 09:03, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- Content from unreleased games is not allowed to be posted except on the article for that game."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 19:23, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
Character list
I do not think we should list the same characters twice."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 21:58, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Computer Screens in Radiant Garden
Did ANYONE notice the absurdity of what the monitors all displayed? "Foolish Users. Obey the MCP" Both in the flashback to when Xigbar was created and when the former members of the original Organization woke up. (96.68.6.221 23:09, 23 September 2019 (UTC))
- 1) It's a loving shout-out to one of the more hammy moments from KH2, and Tron. 2) This happened right around when Xehanort kicked out Ansem and took over, which included messing with his stuff, not limited to reprogramming the MCP. So, no. --Samoa Joe (talk) 00:21, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
- The MCP message also shows up in the present, when the former Org. members wake up. So it's probably just lazy programmers. Ultima Spark (talk) 03:05, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
This should be listed as an “Other appearance” on the MCP page. TheFifteenthMember 07:34, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
