Counter Slash (リベンジスラッシュ Ribenji Surasshu , lit. "Revenge Slash"), also translated as Retaliating Slash, is an ability introduced in Kingdom Hearts II. It allows the user to perform a counterattack. In Sora's Lion Form, the ability is dubbed Retaliating Smash.
Mechanics
In Kingdom Hearts II, Retaliating Slash is an action ability that costs 3 AP to equip, while Retaliating Smash is an action ability that is automatically equipped. It is an aerial finisher activated by pressing after being knocked into the air. Unlike Aerial Recovery, it does not provide invulnerability. When executed in Valor Form or Wisdom Form, Sora will simply perform the basic aerial attack of those respective forms.
In Kingdom Hearts III, Counter Slash is an action ability that costs 4 AP to equip. It is a reprisal activated by pressing after a successful block. It cannot be equipped alongside other reprisals.
