I just came up with that today and figured that's just as good a name for a fusion of them as any. Perhaps I've watched too much Dragonball Z. But I personally thought it was a great idea.

maggosh - I had been told the darkness would devour me, but what terrors could it possibly hold, so long as I found the strength to control it? TALK - This world is just too small. While it's a good idea, it's a fan-made name. The BbS Ultimania specifically has the kana for Ventus-Vanitas.

This guy does NOT have enough information for a character article, and we didn't create a separate article for Riku when he was possessed by Ansem (talking about KH1, which is a case just like this, NOT Riku-Ansem).

Perspective

This is a thing I've been wondering for some time: Were Vanitas & Ventus battling WHILE Aqua was fighting Ventus-Vanitas, or did that whole thing take place in the instant that Aqua broke the X-Blade? The two scenarios have vastly different implications.Neo Bahamut 07:44, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

He wanted to complete the X-blade, not repair it. The thing was incomplete from the get-go because Ventus' mind resisted the forced fusion. Also shown with the half-half awakening platform, which indicates that while Vanitas managed to invade Ven's heart, he couldn't take it over completely. Keyblades, according to Nomura, all have an inner key and an outer key. The outer key (wielded by Ventus-Vanitas), looked complete, but the inner key (wielded by Vanitas inside the awakening) showed it was incomplete at the core. Vanitas had to split his attention and when Aqua broke the X-blade, it's inner incompleteness was revealed. Ventus-Vanitas collapsed and Vanitas focused all energy on the inside, destroying the awakening pillar and forcing a D-Link in order to now try to repair the damage Aqua had done and finally complete the weapon. When the X-blade sends out all those keyhole-shaped energy bursts that is when Ventus and Vanitas have their beam-o-war among the shattered debris of the awakening platform.

That is a good point, but it is also possible that Vanitas realized after the X-Blade broke that something must have gone wrong from the beginning of the fusion. He also says, "The X-Blade shouldn't stay broken like this."Neo Bahamut 19:22, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

TALK - I see, so that's a keyblade... - 22:18, 20 March 2012 (UTC) Possible, but unlikely, Vanitas was the one to initiate the forced fusion so he would notice immediately when something is off, not only when Aqua after a heated battle breaks the outer shell of the X-blade. He says the weapon should not stay broken indeed, but there he was referring to the inner key, which is broken from the very start because the fusion went partly awry due to Ventus resisting.

So, I guess the message to take away from this is, "It isn't really said, but there's reason to believe they happen at the same time."Neo Bahamut 02:26, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Attack names

• Renzokukiri (連続斬り) <lit. "Continuous Slash", poss. reference to Squall Leonhart>
• Warp Kirioroshi (ワープ斬り下ろし) <Kirioroshi is a specific Kendo technique, which literally translates to "cut-down">
• Dark Thundaga (ダークサンダガ)
• Shadow Dive (シャドウダイブ)
• Ultimate Charge (アルティメットチャージ)
• Grand Cross (グランドクロス)

These can basically replace the current list ("Strike" == Renzokukiri; "Afterimage" + "Blizzaga jump" == Warp Kirioroshi; Dark Thundaga (duh); "Eruption" == Shadow Dive; "X-blade dash" == Ultimate Charge; "X-blade explosion" == Grand Cross"), except for the fireball, which is called Dark Firaga in his other battles. Is that still an attack he uses in this fight? (Also, "Sidestep" is not an attack by any metric.) --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 17:23, 19 May 2015 (UTC)

We can make it "Techniques", but for the record, "Sidestep" is not listed as a distinct skill, while Vanitas Remnant's Curaga is.[2] --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 21:42, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
