| | Riku is first seen when he thinks that both Sora and Kairi are being lazy instead of helping him build a raft. When Kairi wanted to race, he didn't take it with much excitement, implying that he has won many races before. As Sora challenge him to a battle that decides the champion, Riku says that he already collected everything he needed to get. At the end of the day, Riku talks with Sora and Kairi about other worlds and leaving the island once the raft was finished. A few days later, Heatless begin to attack the island. Sora finds Riku, but discovers his friend to have accepted the darkness and willing to leave the island. Sora tries to reach for him, but Riku is completely swallowed by the darkness before their hands can touch, ending up at Hollow Bastion. There, he is found by [[Maleficent]], and she offers him a home to live. |

Then, Maleficent reveals Kairi's body's whereabouts, claiming that the only way to save her, is to gain access to [[Kingdom Hearts]]. In [[Monstro]], Riku meets Sora again, intending to use [[Pinocchio]] to help find a way to save Kairi's heart. When Pinocchio is captured by the [[Parasite Cage]], Riku works with Sora, Donald, and Goofy to defeat the Parasite Cage, and save Pinocchio. Then, Riku takes Pinocchio and is followed by Sora's gang into Monstro's stomach. Riku asks Sora to aid him in his work to rescue Kairi, but Sora refuses, saying that Riku's method's are wrong. |

| As a Spirit, it has a yellow face and jaw, black eyes with yellow pupils, a orange tongue and a green mouth filled with many sharp teeth. The Spirit Dream Eater symbol is located between its eyes, and on both sides of its jaw are purple spiral-like formations. It has two small, off-white horns jutting out under its jaw, and a large horn in the center of its forehead. Its body is primarily a maroon color, with four blue spots running along each side. Along its back is a fin consisting of four more horns with orange and purple ridges between them. Its front fins flow from dark blue to red to orange, and it has two smaller black and purple fins towards the back. Its large, blade-like tail fin has dark purple, light blue, and pale yellow stripes.
