Template:Enemy The Necho Cat is a Dream Eater that appears in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.

Design

The Necho Cat has a long neck and six legs. Its design has a musical theme, as evinced by the bells on the tip of its pointy ears and its collars, and the eighth note-shape of its tail. Its eyes have a cheery expression. Its body has two layers of color, which swirl together near its rear, and its knees are striped.

Spirit

A Spirit Necho Cat's coat is a combination of slate blue and light blue, and its knee stripes are purple and yellow while its paws are purple. The cat's whiskers and collar have the same color scheme, a light blue that fades into a bright green, while its eyes are yellow and its bells are gold. Finally, the lower part of its note-like tail is purple and transitions into yellow.

Nightmare

A Nightmare Necho Cat's coat is a combination of dark purple and dark blue, and its knee stripes are indigo and light green while its paws are light green. The cat's whiskers and collar have the same color scheme, a dark purple that fades into a deep yellow, while its eyes are red and its bells are silver. Finally, the lower part of its note-like tail is yellow and transitions into a dark purple.

Etymology

The Necho Cat's Japanese name is derived from "Cat" ( Neko?), so that its name is essentially "Cat Cat". This is fitting, as both forms of the Necho Cat have the general shape of an Oriental Shorthair cat.

The Necho Cat's English name takes the pun even further, with "Necho" being a portmanteau of "neko" and "echo", the reflection of sound.

Story

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

When several Nightmare Meow Wows attack Sora and Neku, the latter sends out his Necho Cat. After the battle, Sora briefly plays with the cat before Neku teaches him how to create his own Spirit. Sometime before the second trip to Traverse Town, Neku releases his Necho Cat after locating Shiki.

A Spirit Necho Cat is one of the first Dream Eaters to greet Sora after he returns from his Mark of Mastery exam.

Recipe

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Riku can obtain the Necho Cat Recipe from the third Special Portal in La Cité des Cloches, or Sora and Riku can purchase it from the Moogle Shop for 200 munny once Prankster's Paradise has been entered.[citation needed] The Necho Cat can be created through seven different recipes.
