Unknown's blade forms

The reasons why no model was uploaded before is because no such thing exists, instead the weapon (and it's 6 forms: blade, double-blade, x-slash, spear, summoning circle and time rewind clock) are battle effects. I've ripped all the pieces but making a "model" out of them requires a level of skill I just don't have. Maybe Erry or Soxra can help. --ShardofTruth 18:57, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

That's not possible at the moment I'm afraid. The most sophisticated model viewer for NDS (nitro) models is Low Lines' Console Tool and even this program has problems with the unusual bone code of the KHREC and KHD models. And even if these enemy models can be viewed without problems they would still be in there T-render pose, because animation or model converting is not supported.

Similarly, I don't really need the world design menus, but I think someone else had wanted them, and, let's face it, those would be awesome if we could get them. I updated the image post. The Ultimania displays always two versions of the command menu, the normal version and the combat version, although only the coloration is different, so I don't really see a point in that. I tried to make version with only "active" tabs (symbols appearing) but there is too much overlapping involved, I just didn't look good.
As for an alternative to spriter's resource I don't know of any. It's problematic to rip sprites from PS2 games anyway, especially if they are as complicated as the KHII ones where the depiction heavly depends on graphic options and resolution in comparision to a simple layer system in NDS games for example.
I guess it would be possible to get workable templates for the KH original menu skin by using this sheet and the ingame font.

		Phew. Aside from the rough edges on the TWTNW menus, those are bloody awesome. I agree we don't need more than one color's worth. Just do what you feel comfortable with. Regarding spriter's resource, I was asking for the sake of the Days command menu and Recoded command deck.

I hope I can improve the quality, there are still some tweaks left. I think I'll have no problem ripping the English version of the KHD and KHREC command menu although I don't know if they are any differences at all. --ShardofTruth 13:53, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

It is a screenshot. However, it is a different one. Notice the angle in which the Guardian is in for File:Guardian World of Chaos.png? Different than File:Guardian (World of Chaos).png shows [upper body is better shown]. I wanted to ask Shard which image he thought was worth keeping since one of the involved images is his. Template:Enemy shortcomings

Anything where the coding of the template does not allow the full accurate info (Vanitas, Terra-Xehanort, the Days Dragons), just list in a section on the Template Talk page, preferably with the name of the parameter affected. Our Wiki again

Hey, I don't know if we can speak in German here, so I write in English. I had a fight with my boss at the wiki, which was affilieted with this wiki. We're splitted now (it was my project -.-) and I got a new server for the wiki. If everything is ready (just the domain is missing), can we change the interwiki-link again? .. Hey. Well, it's much easier to do it this way than doing it the other and taking over the spoiled wiki. It's just a matter of time for us to become the number one on wikia. We have more and much better articles, a structured category-system, quality pictures. With a little push from wikia (i.e. wiki of the month), we'll get more famouse and a greater community than the existing wiki. Also, in case you don't know it or maybe have forgotten it, we are separeted from the old wiki, because it's ridiculous to change a thing. Ultimania

For KH3D, it looks like the resistances for Spirits can be taken from their Nightmare versions (either that, or I'm completely wrong and all Spirits are created with the same basic resistances).

However, there are several stats that only appear in the Ultimania:

What Dream Piece the Spirit drops when it dies,
Which parts of the Dream Eaters body correspond to its dispositions,
What are the stats for the recipes, specifically, their chances of producing a different Dream Eater than the one expected,
What the katakana are for the dispositions (do we want this?)

I coded the Dispositions part of the infobox so that if you upload sprites of the eyes, they would appear. I'm not sure if that's rippable, or if we're going to have to mock them up as vector art or some kind of thing. We'll figure it out.

I'm not sure about the starting resistances for the Spirits, they maybe the same as the Nightmares's but I thought they can change with the Spirits's unlocked commands (seen on page 225 "『強化』の欄で遺んだデッキコマンドの種類とステータスの上昇量"). But I'm maybe completely wrong about this, hopefully the Bradygames guide arrives soon, maybe it can clear things like these up.

It seem all these drops have only a small chance (Ursa Circus death drop chance for the Epic Fantasy is only 4%) , should it be included or is this info better to be put on the material pages?
I'm not sure about the katakana for the dispositions, it depends on how bloated the info box looks and if we make a page for the dispositions alone, where the katakana could appear instead.

I'm not a step further with the ripping, I can't really tell if it's possible or impossible at this point, because I'm still figuring out how to get the data itself but I'm optimistic it will work out one way or another. This is a somewhat complicated topic for various reasons:

The battle effects are no simple textures, often they are not colored (mostly when the animation uses random/different colors) or whole (e.g. when the form is more complex).
They are inconsistencies in the design, especially in KH. Effects are reused or there are more than one effect for a single keyblade.
They are a bit difficult to track down (I never found the effects for Crown Unlimit for example).

Here are examples what they look like (KHII, KHBBS) and how they look in KH (only screenshots for the moment). I think it's possible to rip these effects for KHD and KHREC too, but I've not done that yet. --ShardofTruth (talk) 18:16, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Square Enix Heaven hier

Hallo ShardofTruth,

wie du sicherlich gemerkt hast, war es die letzte Zeit zielmich ruhig im deutschen Kingdom Hearts Wiki. Das liegt unter anderem daran, das Sum2k3 und ich uns gestritten hatten und er mir für meinen Geschmack ein wenig zu Persönlich geworden ist. Mittlerweile ist jetzt Pain88 die Leiterin, jedoch hat sie momentan das Problem das Ihr PC ziemlich lahm ist und ihre Internetverbindung via UMTS wohl auch nicht gerade ganz der Traum ist. Bei mir persönlich liegt es momentan eher daran, das ich den ganzen Tag ausser Haus bin und dann seit fast neun Wochen frisch gebackener Vater bin :)

Momentan arbeite ich daran, die Wikis Serverintern umzuziehen und die Software upzudaten. Ebenso miste ich das Zeugs aus, das unser ehemaliger Sysadmin verbrochen hat... Das Benutzerverwaltungssystem wird sich damit ein wenig Ändern, das heißt es ist leider eine neu Registrierung im Forum notwendig, was aber letztenendes dazu führt, das man zugriffe auf jedes wiki hat und wir leichter Spam bekämpfen können da die Forensoftware hierbei sehr hilfreich ist.

Ich werde nach dem Internen umzug und der Aufräumaktion das Monobookdesign an euer Wiki anpassen und dann mal die Artikel durchforsten und die Interwikilinks setzen die noch fehlen. Sowohl von uns zu euch, als auch umgekehrt natürlich. Vorlagentechnisch werden wir uns wohl ein wenig von euren Versionen abkapseln und ein eigenens System verfolgen. Lass dich überraschen, was wir vor haben.

Das deutsche Wiki bleibt also nicht still und schweigend in der Versenkung liegen, sondern wird schon in jeder planung mit einbezogen. Nur alleine kann ich mich bei der Vorlagenerstellung etc. nicht zerreisen. Ich hoffe aber, das letztenendes die Qualität unserer Wikis und somit auch dem des Kingdom Hearts Wikis euren anforderungen entspricht.

Im übrigen ist es in der Planung, das wir uns auch dem SEIWA Projekt anschließen, sofern die Gründer uns natürlich wollen. Erste gespräche werde ich wohl am Wochenende anfangen, da ich ein bisschen Zeit brauche um anständige Englische Texte zu verfassen. Ist leider nicht so meine Stärke XD

KH2FM Mushroom Weapons

So I went into my game and tested the mushroom 13 weapons in KH2FM, and they have skins for HT, TR and SP. Do you think we should rip them and add them to the database or just leave them be? You have wormed your way to the very nadir of repugnance. - Erry 22:09, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

I really like to include the weapons of Donald and Goofy with their HT, TR and SP skin and already ripped them for that purpose. But I have a problem I couldn't solve yet: I'd like to show the weapons in the same pose as the little SE render from the game, which is not hard to pull off but at the same time have the HT, TR and SP render in the exact same position so it the image isn't "moving" while switching through the variations in the template. To this day I haven't found a model viewer that can display the models without problems and do this little task at the same time. It's just soooo time consuming to move the different models in the same pose by hand. On top of that my prefered viewer Noesis has some problems with the transparancy of the SP versions, so there is already some improvisation involved. Maybe my view is too narrow, maybe this is not really important, but that's the reason I haven't done this yet.

I was thinking

The multivortex swords are only battle effects, most likely only glowing lines, that the game "forms" into these blades. So there is no model to find and I also couldn't locate them within the effects, I think they are just too inconspicuous between the thousand other files. I checked all publications of KHII and KHD I have (Ultimanias, guidebooks etc.) they all use the same KH render. If there was a bigger version of this somewhere it wasn't released to public. Andrina and Attina renders

Yes, these are screenshots. The problem with character models that only appear during cutscenes (like these sisters, Ariel in her wedding dress, Prince Adam etc.) is that the game uses an event animation for them which are different from the normal animations and harder to find and to unpack, because I only found a few of them and no file for the sisters. I always hoped Dark-EnigmaXIII would animate these two models like he did with Prince Adam because I'm absolutely horrible with posing these models by myself. ShardofTruth 12:19, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

You should use the "Ultra-shot" option under "Tools", make sure too use the same height as width and save the *.tga. Now you have to use another painting program to convert the tga to png (Paint can't open tga images, but it shouldn't be a problem for Paint.net, Gimp, Photoshop etc.) and you're finished. If you want to use the game's animations for the models that's a bit more complicated, I have to write a tutorial for that, because it involves some extra steps. I've never had missing textures, do you open the original mdlx files or do you use some sort of converted model like obj or smd? I don't think you can add textures in Noesis, you'd have to use a more advanced tool like Blender for it. I think Dark-EnigmaXIII used Garry's Mod, some maybe that's another alternative. There is no link for the mdlx models because it's somewhat illegal to make copyrighted game resources available like that. The event rooms of Re:CoM doesn't seem to have names, leaving only the cutscene rooms of Castle Oblivion to find and after checking the text files for 358/2 Days I couldn't find a single trace of the cutscene room names of Castle Oblivion and The World That Never Was. I think you mean the Ryu Dragon;-). Anyway if the Ability Link is yellow it means that it might not be visible from the start. The paths marked with 1 and 4 will appear when the Ryu Dragon is in the right disposition (Wyvern for 1 and Bahamut for 4). Well, I have two ideas, but don't know if any of them works. First, maybe we could crop those eyes, together with the nose, otherwise it would be a little strange. Or, maybe we could draw these eyes. Meow Wow ones aren't so hard, so, other Dream Eaters can't have eyes that are so hard to draw. He didn't answer yet but I look a bit more into it and it just to much stuff to handle. The problem with the KH models is that there seems be different types and only character models can be easily extracted. The props (like chests and trees) have to be copied per hand from the archives and the maps (all that is static) are not even understood for KH. The ships are definitely not single props but part of the maps files which makes extracting them impossible at the moment (at least for me).

What o0DemonBoy0o does is to take 3D snapshots from the game, import them in a 3D model program, remove all stuff that shouldn't be part of the model and add the textures (which are ripped separatly). It may sound easy but because how the rendering for PS2 games works it's more like piecing together a very complicated puzzle and the more bigger/complex the model gets the more complicated and time consuming the "puzzle solving" is. The two ships are really big and possess a lot different textures so you would have to rebuild the model from several snapshots not just one which is even more complicated. I don't know enough about 3D modeling to do this (I think Blender isn't even capable of doing this and I know nothing about 3ds Max) and though I'm not sure I don't think o0DemonBoy0o will put this huge amount of work into two models just so we get two better images out of it.
But don't give up hope yet because all models and maps can be extracted from KH 1.5 HD ReMix, although the file format changed and is not understood at the moment.

I think something went wrong when you downloaded the file, at least for me it's working without problems. But I uploaded the same thing again as zip file here, it's significant larger but maybe it works better for you.

The only model viewers with native mset support are yaz0r's ModelViewerWX and kkdf2's khkh_xldMii. There is a way to display the animations in Noesis but I have to sort the programs/plugins first and write a little tutorial for that purpose. If you can't wait you could read this thread on XeNTaX. Okay, here comes the small tutorial (it's actually very easy):

Download the neccessary files from here.
Inside the zip archive you will find two things, a special Kingdom Hearts 2 plugin for Noesis which has to be extracted in Noesis' plugins folder (you probably have to overwrite any other KH2 plugin already present there) and a special version of khkh_xldM][.
Put the model and its mset you like to have animated in Noesis (they must have the same name, e.g.: Sora.mdlx and Sora.mset) in the ASET-Exporter Folder
Drag and Drop the mdlx file over the khkh_xldMii.exe, the program should open with the model already displayed.
Now you should see one or more animations under the "Motion" tab. You can display an animation by clicking on it and check the "Auto step by" box under "Control", the model should be animated now.
Check the boxes right before the animation you want to export and click on "Export ASET". Now khkh_xldM][ converts the mset to an aset, attaching all animation after another if you checked more than one.
Now if you open the same model with Noesis it can play the aset animation as if was a mset animation.

I talked a bit about these animations above in the Attina and Adrina topic. These cutscenes animation are the anb files that can be found in the anm folder of the extracted game files. I won't upload them here, because they are much, much bigger than normal mset files and it took a really long time to just upload the mset files from before (my internet connection is extremly slow). Problem with Noesis

Hey, me again :P I have a problem with Noesis: I uploaded an iso for KHFM and I dumped it. I openened models with Noesis, everything is ok. But, when I want export the model (with "Export" or "Export from preview") I don't know what I must do, because when I open a exported model with Photoshop (and make a transparent background), textures did not appear, or they are bugged when I put them manually. Hey Shard, I know how you are busy lately, so, I was thinking if there wasn't another way of getting the scans of the Nightmares. I REALLY DON'T need them now, but I remembered that, as the renders are already on each page, as well as on KHinsider, those pages had to have been scanned sometime. So, after some research, I found this rar file that was uploaded by yourself, when someone who was needing help on KH3D was going around the Wiki asking for translation of almost all the Ultimania and wanted you to scan all renders in just some days. Aren't those the Dream Eater scans of the Nightmare pages? At least, are they the Spirits scans? Or just the images not the full pages? August Roundtable

About KHX cards, maybe the tabs could be divided just in rarity, like N, N+, etc. That way, there would not be much divs, but everything would be well divided. DE stat calculation and clarification

Wait, is it supposed to be rounded to the nearest whole (eg. 55.7 = 56) or simply truncated (eg. 55.7 = 55)? Requested Images (no hurry)

Hey there. Got an image request for whenever you have the time/if you don't mind. This is very minor. I cannot stress how trivial it is. Take all the time you want- this isn't something we need immediately. Anyways, the article I'm wanting to use the images on can be found here. I just added that table. The table itself is complete, but in order to make it look like the BBS and KHII tables, we're short three images. These images can also be seen here. The item icon already on the table is from Days, but the two are identical...I don't see a need to upload the KH one. I will upload them shortly. They are different from the other icons though (apart from being a bit smaller), because they are basically transparent images that are colored by the game and gain their look because of the dark background of the menus, meaning they would look differently on the wiki. So I used some tricks to keep their appearance as close to the originals as possible, but it's still far from perfect. Maybe I can get my hands on the re-drawn icons from the HD ReMIX version one day but at the moment it doesn't look like it. You're free to rename and or delete all icons that you have no use for, I just did them all in one go because it saves a bit work this way:-) Oh and by the way: Happy New Year. KH3D Ultimania stats

Hey, I saw that you posted scans of the KH3D Ultimania on here, so I wondered: how exactly do the stats work? From the Game:Xemnas page, I guess that it's not a direct correspondance between the stats that are given in the Ultimania (complete with floating point numbers) and the actual in-game stats. The stats work the same way like in almost every other KH game, it's a bit cumbersome but not really complicated. All you need to know can be found here, it's basically a formula. Ships renders

It is easier to get the models, that's right, but you still need a PS3 with a custom firmware to do it (which I don't have) and displaying/rendering them is also not possible at the moment (at least for me). The interest for these HD ReMIX models is very low at the moment, maybe this will change when the 2.5 ReMIX arrives, I don't know. Currently I'm not able to help you with these ships. No, it works completely different. The enemies are trapped in a similiar fashion but they are quickly propelled outside the spell's area. It's definitely not a lasting effect. ShardofTruth 21:45, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
