Sheltering Zones are enemies from Kingdom Hearts.
Resembling a jellyfish, Sheltering Zones are one of the two large species of Heartless found exclusively in Atlantica and its corresponding area in End of the World. They form a symbiotic relationship with Sea Neons, and may usually be found with a group of them.
A Sheltering Zone, very much like an Aquatank, is quite docile in battle unless disturbed. Sheltering Zones attack by swiping their tentacles at Sora and his party. They are also the only enemy that Sora takes damage from just by touching it. If a Sheltering Zone is destroyed by a weapon as opposed to magic, it will split into three Sea Neons.
Sheltering Zones are exactly identical to Sea Neons; simply larger in size.
Atlantica faults
As Atlantica is underwater, many anemies can only appear here (on that same note, many enemies cannot appear here). The Sheltering Zone is an enemy that cannot appear anywhere else, and has thus become unpopular. Many Square enix fans have found a dislike to this area, due to it's lighthearted feeling, with a soft plot. In an attempt to avoid this, Square decided to allow some main plot information to exist here, but was overall unsuccessful. Also, many find it difficult while attempting to navigate the oddly designed rise and fall system. Although this was eliminated in COM, many find the storyline lacking anything of interest.
