Prior to [[Sora]]'s first adventure, King Mickey had dissapeared and left only a note at his home in Disney Castle. As his mentor Yensid revealed, Mickey is investigating the mysterious outbreak of Heartless and the more mysterious [[Organization XIII|Organization]] that in wait. Using the [[Corridor of darkness]] at [[Transverse Town]], Mickey managed to find the Keyblade of the realm of Darkness, meeting up with Riku before the two eventually help Sora seal Kingdom Hearts from their end. The king would use the Corridor to follow Riku to Castle Oblivion, though it took him a while to regain his full form.

Mickey Mouse is the king of Disney Castle. He first appears in the short film "Steamboat Willie".

In Kingdom Hearts, King Mickey had disappeared from his Castle home leaving a note instructing Donald and Goofy to "find the Key".
