I'd say we'd be best off trying to get the bot thing to work, and if that amounts to nothing than we should just hold out until summer. Once schedules free up, we'll have more time to allot to these things. It wouldn't be a horrible idea to go for the quicker route stated in your second point, either.}} | I'd say we'd be best off trying to get the bot thing to work, and if that amounts to nothing than we should just hold out until summer. I have no idea how the bot would work, so my option of choice would be number 2. It would also help with the fact that many of the users working on the merge were simply porting over large portions of the Keyhole's articles regardless of whether the information was already there. If it's only done on a quick-and-dirty level, it has the risk of adding back what was already removed, but that may not be a big problem. --{{User:Neumannz/SigTemplate}} 04:17, 6 May 2012 (UTC) |

Continue or ending the project
There wasn't much input on the last roundtable so let's ask here instead. Project Merge died down, the last edit was made two months ago. While that's the case with other projects here too, time is really important on this one, because (who'd have guessed) the longer it takes the more both sites changes and the longer it will take to complete the project in return and so on.
I think the main problem is that our active userbase is too small to undertake such a big project, because comparing and evaluate the page requires (again) a lot of time, knowing the history of both articles is important too: I readded several paragraphs that were already removed here (sorry Neumannz).
So what should we do now?
- Filter the articles with a bot that weren't or were only slightly changed? I don't know if that's possible, but it could reduce the amount of work.
- Only browse through both pages and add missing paragraphs and information to save a lot of time?
- End the project and hope it works out somehow.
Maybe someone has better ideas but we should at least discuss about it. --ShardofTruth 00:05, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
