::I have to concur about the FPS thing, I've yet to see it done well in a Kingdom Hearts game, at least when the player is given access to it. I will say, Chicken Little's is easier to use than Xigbar's Critical Snipe, but that isn't saying much. What the person I was arguing with cited about Chicken Little was his ability to draw in enemies, & the Drain effect. I have to admit, those aren't bad, but I still don't see the point. A Drive will fully restore my HP and MP, deflect and injure nearby enemies, & then boost my combat abilities. If I'm backed into a corner, it seems like the better option to get out of that situation. As for Genie, his Valor Form Limit is probably the strongest thing you can use on a boss. Stitch is recommended for the Titan Cup partly because of Ohana, but mostly because his signature ability is to deflect almost every attack that comes close to Sora. Needless to say, he's the closest thing to my "favorite summon." So...I guess the point to take away from this is that the summons have some easily-overlooked benefits, but the Drives still seem superior.[[Special:Contributions/75.195.74.225|75.195.74.225]] 05:38, 18 March 2012 (UTC) | ::I have to concur about the FPS thing, I've yet to see it done well in a Kingdom Hearts game, at least when the player is given access to it. {{Galexgan|time=00:40, 20 March 2012 (UTC)|terra2= I've always loved and thought the summons something to add uniqueness to the gamplay. They are certainly not better to use except for rare instances, as are pointed out above, but they can be fun to play around with and add more depth to the story. I've been sad to see summons essentially unused since KH2 but they did lose much of their real purpose there with the OP drive forms. In KH1 the summons were an essential piece even during boss fights and Dumbo was an especially useful summon along with Tinker Bell. I despised the D-Link system of KH:BBS which erased both summons and real drive forms. If they had a usefulness I haven't found it... Even shotlocks become rather uneeded after a certain level unless your taking on bosses in the Mirage Arena. Sorry, this was a little off-topic rant but I had to say it. XD }}
{{Uxie|time=05:24, 20 March 2012 (UTC)|text=That's alright. Well, I don't summon much, anyway. In KH1, I only summon Tinker Bell (during boss battles such as Hades), though I might summon Bambi and Dumbo every now and then (both only in HT). In KHII, I mostly stick to Genie (again: helpful in boss battles if Sora's strength is high and Genie is in "Valor Form"), but I might summon Chicken Little and (only in SP and OC's Cups) Stitch. In BbS, I only summon Mickey to take advantage of the increased EXP (I do not summon at all with Terra).
Use of Drive Forms is better, though, since they can give out new abilities and even tell you when they level up. I'm already on level 5 for the ones I've got right now; once I "fight" Roxas, the use of Drives will be nearly at total to get Final Form and to finish the training, and I hope that I'll get it BEFORE the MCP this time, as opposed to post-Saïx in September 2011 and during the MCP battle in June 2011. And there's [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Dawn_(anime) no need to worry] about the lack of Nobodies, since I won't be doing SP until I get that form, and getting it to level 7.}}
::Heh, I pretty thoroughly neglected the use of summons in KH1, using them only once or twice outside of Kurt Zisa, & only recently discovered their benefits while attempting a playthrough with the staff--I do not recommend it. I hate that Dumbo can't fly, though. The D-Links, I'd say, are pretty useful. You can think of them like a Command Style that doesn't take very long to learn & charge, which you can enter any time, that also heals you & grants defensive abilities. But, on the downside, they only power up your finish, while a true Style would multiply all of your attacks. The problem is, the game is hell-bent on not letting you use them in the fights they'd be useful in. I'd have killed for Aqua's Auto Life against Vanitas.[[User:Neo Bahamut|Neo Bahamut]] 06:46, 20 March 2012 (UTC) |
