Well, that's great and all, but pages like [[Seven Dwarves|this one]] need the actual Tabber extension to work.  --{{User:Neumannz/SigTemplate}} 16:26, 13 February 2011 (EST)

Um...

Kind of confused as to what's going on here.(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 14:24, 7 November 2010 (EST)

Let me hear those questions. --Porplemontage 14:29, 7 November 2010 (EST)
  1. Can this be moved to khwiki.net, the site chosen in the forums?
  2. What is the hosting situation (bills, etc.)?
  3. Can we get Monaco, Oasis, and possibly Quartz installed here?
  4. Will you remove your "admin and bureaucrat" user rights once the move is complete?
  5. Can the current bureaucrats for the khwiki (Bluerfn and BebopKate) be given developer status, if that's necessary to install extensions?
  6. Could the syncing be done faster, and more up to date, if we got a full database dump from wikia? We're going to need to overwrite most of the current pages in the end, to get back to where we are now.

  1. It could be, but if the Wikia site will be continue to be called "Kingdom Hearts Wiki" it would be easier to build the name Kingdom Hearts Database than compete with the same name. Similar to the WoWWiki, Wowpedia situation.
  2. Hosting/bills are covered.
  3. A skin similar to Monaco may be installed eventually, but we're looking at Monobook for a while.
  4. No. I'm not going to interfere with the other admins but I need the rights.
  5. No, I'll manage the extensions.
  6. This is the complete Wikia dump from Oct 29. Newer dumps can be added on top of it. --Porplemontage 17:06, 10 November 2010 (EST)
  1. Extension-wise, we'd like to be able to install any extensions the community agrees to. If you are going to maintain the servers, can you agree to that?
  2. We would like to know if it would be possible to host other wikis on these servers. Please read this for more details.

Thanks!(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 20:49, 10 November 2010 (EST)

As long as the extension is secure and compatible with our setup, I shouldn't have a problem with it, but I honestly can't make any guarantees. You can check Special:Version for the list of current extensions; if any come to mind as missing we can talk about those now. Regarding other wikis--I deal with these one at a time. I'm not going to start up a bunch of new wikis for the network, but if a wiki community is frustrated and wants to move, I may be able to accommodate them. --Porplemontage 21:27, 10 November 2010 (EST)
  1. We are pretty set on the name "khwiki.net".
  2. Desire to retain Monaco was a big part of the reason for our move, so we would like Monaco installed as soon as possible, possibly followed by Oasis for those who liked it. Without Monaco, the community probably won't move here.
  3. The other wikis we were talking with would also be moving from wikia, and the main issue is that most of our editor-base is shared among these wikis, so we'd like to retain accounts across the system (for example, if an editor gets a talk page message on one wiki, he is notified across all the others). This is not quite as critical as Monaco, but still very important to us.
  4. Extension-wise, what we were planning on was having a page in the forums where users can request new extensions, both new ones and those that other wikis have used successfully. This isn't as critical as Monaco or khwiki.net, but we would like it to happen. When you say you can't make any guarantees, is that more "I'll try, but I might not be physically able to get them all", or "It's my decision"?

Thank you for your continued assistance. Cheers!(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 14:38, 11 November 2010 (EST)

Domain change is easy, but I'm not going to buy another domain unless the move is actually going to happen. Monaco is mangled up with Wikia's code and it's not as easy as just installing it. I read someone over at NIWA was working on making it a normal skin. I can't fix Monaco to work here, so that's up to you or someone else to fix it first. I know how to share a user table among wikis, but not how to get this cross-wiki notification example going. Extensions I'm saying it's my decision because I can't promise you'll get every extension you want; it totally depends on the extension in question. If the extension is small secure reasonable you'll probably get it.--Porplemontage 20:11, 11 November 2010 (EST)

User rights

I don't want to sound rude, but I should not have bureaucrat rights, only admin. If you could demote me, that would be great, thanks!(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 16:58, 9 February 2011 (EST)

Someone needs to promote everyone to their normal rights. --Porplemontage 17:00, 9 February 2011 (EST)

Sorry, just saw that after I demoted myself. Can you re-burea-me, then I'll promote the people that need it and demote myself again?(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 17:03, 9 February 2011 (EST)

I promoted the three editors that I could, but it won't let me promote anyone who hasn't edited on this wiki. I'm going to try and contact each of our past staff to see if they even plan on coming to this wiki, and if they don't respond soon, I'll just take that as them declining their status at this site. If neither of the current bcrats decides to come here, we'll hold elections to choose who we want to be the new bcrats, and I'll do my demotion after getting the winners of that set up.(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 17:24, 9 February 2011 (EST)

Extensions

Are you the only one who can install extensions? If so, could you install this one, and if not, would I (as an admin and—at least for now—bureaucrat) be able to do it, and how? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 15:34, 13 February 2011 (EST)

The site already uses JS for tabs. For example, Grim Reaper. --Porplemontage 16:23, 13 February 2011 (EST)
