First things first, you'll need 8 Fire panels. Either bring some and restore them with Ethers or Hi-Ethers, or use the magic multiplier panel, which I highly recommend and you should've used one by now. I also recommend bringing in some extras for Snowy Crystals or Skater Bomb. Alright then, welcome to Halloween Town again! If you look at your right you'll see a weird, floating balloon, examine it and... OMG GIANT WORMS!! Yes, interacting with floating balloons will make Heartless appear, so try and find as many as you can! Also, bones are scattered around again, which means you can pick one for Zero. Check around the Plaza for some balloons, then go to the Graveyard. In the Graveyard, you'll see a cutscene involving Jack and Zero. Apparently he has a new idea of using lanterns. after the cutscene, lit the four lanterns using fire, examine the coffin, and go towards the gate. Then you'll see the coffin opens up. Proceed. In the next area, lit up the four lanterns again and go to the newly opened door. Prepare for a boss battle!

Yikes, it's huge. Btw, you'll see a Snowy Crystal here, don't bother to attack it since a new one will spawn. As big and menacing as it is, it's waaaaaay weaker than Zip Slasher. It almost has the same move pattern, it blocks by crossing both of its swords in front of him before doing the spinning-thrust attack. Now, don't worry, this time, the spinning-thrust attack won't heal it. It also got another move at his disposal, it'll fire an Aerora spell, so be sure to dodge that one or you'll fly (then again, flying sounds fun...). All-in-all, you should beat this Heartless with ease. Try and block its spinning-thrust attack, it'll be staggered for awhile which leaves you a chance to beat it up.

Grab a badge on the top of the fountain, and head for the house besides the entrance to the graveyard, and grab another badge and open up a chest there. RTC afterwards since there're nothing left to do.

Ugh, I hate emblem collecting mission.
I really have no tips for these kinds of mission, it depends on yourself really, how good you can handle Roxas's movement and stuff. I think the only tip I can give you here is to equip Air Slide and High Jump panel.
Also, be on the lookout for Sapphire Eleggies and Grey Caprises since they both drop Rune Tech and Gear Component B, respectively. And Gigas-Shadow also drops Elixir recipe, so you may want to beat them up, too.

It's a new world! Welcome to Neverland!

Revision as of 15:08, 22 December 2010

What mattered the most was remembered the least.

Introduction

Hey there! This is the 17master's walkthrough subpage for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. The walkthrough is still under development so expect updates soon. Right now, I'm still playing the game myself and I'm already a few Days ahead, so after I complete the game, I'll return to the Days before and complete the walkthrough. Any questions, suggestions, and critics can be sent to my talk page.

Explanation on the walkthrough.

Terms:

  • Grey Area Menu: before going through missions, you'll be in the Organization's "lounge" called "The Grey Area". If you press the start button here, you'll go to a menu where you can set up your panel, go on Holo-Mission and Challenges, read Roxas's Diary and Enemy Profile, read tutorial, configure your game, save your data, and go to title screen.
  • Mission Menu: Withdraw or Continue the mission
  • Panel: The game's level up and equipment system. You can set up your equipment and level up using this system.

Story section guide

  • Tutorial section: will only show up if the game offers a new tutorial, I'll sum the turorial and put it in the section along with few tips of my own.
  • Roxas's Diary: Usually after a storyline mission is done, you'll get a new entry the next day. I won't tell you the contents of the entry, just the title. You can see the entry by opening the Grey Area Menu
  • Tasks/Gifts: Sometimes when you talk to the others on the Grey Area, they'll give you an item or a task. Complete the task, and you'll get an item, so be friendly and talk to people! You may also find some interesting conversation.
  • Shop: One Day a Moogle wearing the Organization's cloak will appear, if you talk to him, you'll gain access to a shop, which is the Moogle. You can but new panels from him and Synthesize items. You can also redeem items after getting enough Challenge or Mission sigils. The section will tell you what new items are present in the store.
  • Mission: details on new missions. It'll also tell you the recommended order of the missions you should do.
World: what world the mission takes place
Type: The mission's types, Story mission or Optional mission
Mission Type: The mission's objective's types.
Emblem Collection: The Organization spreads emblems for you to collect. Take the emblems before the ring is gone for extra mission gauge points.
Target Hunting: The Organization needs you to defeat a certain Heartless.
Hearts Collecting: The Organization needs you to collect a set amount of Hearts
Recon: Usually appears for new worlds, walk around until you find a question mark, then look around until a target focuses on something. Get near it, an examine it. Later you'll be questioned either by your partner or yourself.
Objective: The objective of the mission
Intels: Infos given by the Organization regarding the mission
Awards: Awards for the mission
Additional Awards: One of the items mentioned will be given randomly for completing the mission.
Treasure Chests: The number of the available treasure chests on the mission.
Partner: Your partner for the mission.
Tips: My tips for the mission.

Story

Day 173: Lies

Axel talked to Saix about Xion, sadly, no answer :( Roxas seems pretty happy knowing Saix would stop calling her "Broken", though. And... Look! a new tutorial! It's been awhile, hasn't it?

Tutorial: Powering Up Abilities

Basically, some abilities panels costs more than one panel. We already knew about that, though, this tutorial is late, really. Abilities that costs one panel are like Weapon panels, they can be linked with additional panels to power up the ability, like the Air Dash panel. If you equip an Air Slide LV+ panel, you can dash twice in the air.

Roxas's Diary

You get another entry for Roxas's Diary: Day 172: Xion's Collapsed.

Tasks/Gifts

  • Talk to Axel, he'll give you a task to equip a weapon panel with 3 or more units attached. By now, you should already use one, so talk to him again, and Saix will have a new mission for you.
  • Talk to Luxord, he'll ask you to synthesize a weapon with Gear Component A, Rune Tech, and Bronze, which is the Chrono Gear+. Go make one if you haven't, and talk to Luxord again afterwards. You'll receive a Shining Gem.
