| | {{Xion4ever|time=17:59, October 17, 2010 (UTC)|text=As of right now, I'm currently against changing themes for one main reason: As ShardofTruth pointed out, what's the point in switching themes if it's only for one day? Why spend all that time and work for something that might not even be used? Another concern of mine is a matter of priorities. As of now, we have no idea if we're moving, if Wikia is removing/sticking with the skin, and so on. We should be focused on that discussion at the present time. I'd rather start working on moving preparations than a theme change. If we have to leave, I'd much rather have our articles secured and ready to move, than on optional, not mandatory theme. See my point? |
| | It's like those emergency kits they tell you to make in elementary school: have it ready just in case the emergency happens. |
| | |
| | Once a definite answer has come from central Wikia, then my opinion could change. But know this, if the KHW has to move, I am against this theme change. (This is under the mindset that the wiki moves) Once the wiki moves and gets the articles settled and |
| | everything else settled, then I'll be more open to theme changes. For now, I believe we all should be focused on moving preparations/ideas. |
| | |
| | (This is under the mindset that the KHW doesn't move) As long as users don't focus mainly on the theme change (we still need people to edit articles, categorize, etc.), I'm all up for ''ideas'' and ''examples''. Similar to what ENX, TNE, myself and a few others did in preparation for the BBS theme change. Like I said earlier, as long as users don't focus solely on optional wants, I'm fine for ideas/discussions/what have you with a theme change. One other important detail I should add: (Yes, it does involve time) We switched over to the BBS theme around July/August/September, correct? Somewhere in that range, I forget exactly when... I don't see much reason in changing themes right away all because we heard a release date (whether the release date be true or false). Let's give the current skin a little more time (meaning a few months), then I'm all up for changing. My main reason for the present is that some users will focus on the optional project instead of editing the Wiki. There's also other concerns like: lots of talk page discussions about theme change/edits to theme change that don't really go to towards the theme change, but hey, we get higher edit counts! |
| | |
| | In short: In my opinion, let's hold off on changing themes right away. If you want to create a few small ideas/examples, go for it. As long as you edit the Wiki just as equal as you work on the project. I'm not trying to be mean or hurt anyone's feelings, this is simply my view on the subject.}} |
