{{KrytenKoro|Oh, I hadn't thought about IPs being traded. Hrm...I've actually had a zero tolerance policy for blatant cases of bad faith (obscenities, threats, etc.). I actually DO think that the block should ''appear'' as indefinite at first, because the troll will not have a "due date" to come back<!--, but after a month we should probably de-ban all IPs so that others can use the account if possible. This policy should not be publicized, as I can confidently say that it will only encourage the trolls to come back

IE, we should probably have an unstated task of undoing any indefinite IP bans that are over a month old.-->.}}

And here we be...this is the discussion page.

This is not a page to air past grievances or issues with other editors or staff members. What is is a chance to ask questions about situations, add thoughts on your ideas of a staff member, help expand the definition on the main page, etc.

So...discuss away! What does being a staff member mean to you, and how would you define it?

My opinion: if what they post is obviously garbage and no attempt to add to improve the wiki (i.e. obscenities, crap, slamming their head on the keyboard, etc), take 'em out, no warning needed. I've been told by other admins at other wikis not to permanently ban any anonymous IP, though, as that can cause problems down the line if someone else gets assigned to it and wants to legitimately join. Usually a week or two is enough to discourage them, from my experience.

As you can see from the outline, we'll tackle a "Field Guide to Trolls" later down the line. Any types you would like to suggest for coverage, other than that one?
