In my normal dictionary, I only found this for ミニッツ
ミニッツステーキ (n) minute steak
As such it appears to be an odd but not impossible version of what is done with other -u syllables. As its timer is noticeably shorter than a minute, I think this means the name actually refers to its tiny size. As such, I went ahead and reverted it to Minute, but if my dictionary is just missing uses of minittsu, I'd be happy to change it back.
:EDIT: I did find [http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%9F%E3%83%8B%E3%83%83%E3%83%84%E3%83%AC%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B5%E3%83%BC "Mini-Z"] and [http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%9F%E3%83%8B%E3%83%83%E3%83%84%E3%83%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%83%89 "Minute Maid"].
