The design of the stick in ''Kingdom Hearts II'' is near identical, with slight differences. The stick is more crooked, the twig is shorter, and the stick in general is considerably smaller. | The design of the stick in ''Kingdom Hearts II'' is near identical, with slight differences. The wooden stick is made of ~40% cellulose, 30% hemicellulose, and %30 lignin. It is highly flammable, but this is not reflected in gameplay or cutscenes. As a piece of wood hard enough to be used as a blunt weapon, the stick probably comes from a dicotyledon (hard wood) tree; probably a Japanese Elm (Ulmus davidiana var. japonica), which is used as a 'street tree'. This implies that Twilight Town hasn't had Dutch Elm disease spread through its beetles, or that they invested in cultivars resistant to the fungus. Japanese Elm seeds were also sent to London arboretums in the late 1890s, possibly explaining why such a stick would show up in Beast's European castle. | |||
