You enter this world after going through {{Wtext|Merlin|c}}'s door. This is the first of five worlds where {{Wtext|Sora|c}} and his friends change form, since the party are given [[Form:Timeless River|1920s-style designs]], with {{Wtext|Donald|c}} and {{Wtext|Goofy|c}} looking similar to their early shows. {{Wtext|Sora|c}}'s attire resembles his appearance from the first game, but now he is drawn in similar style to that of Osamu Tezuka's manga characters (such as ''Astro Boy'' and ''Black Jack'') and is pre-1940s style.

You'll encounter a mysterious version of {{Wtext|Pete|c}} (who was still a captain of his own steamboat), who asks the trio if they have seen any bad guys around here. The trio point at him, much to {{Wtext|Captain Pete|c}}'s shock. He then runs off towards the {{Wtext|Pier|l}}. There is a Moogle Shop and a save point here, so save your game and follow {{Wtext|Captain Pete|c}}. You'll find him on a jetty. Select the "Punish" reaction command to trigger a boss battle.

After defeating {{Wtext|Captain Pete|c}}, {{Wtext|Goofy|c}} will suspect that {{Wtext|Captain Pete|c}} may not be the same as the {{Wtext|Pete|c}} they know, since he has not called up any Heartless. {{Wtext|Goofy|c}} says sorry, but Captain Pete then demands that the trio find the thief that stole his boat if they really were sorry. {{Wtext|Sora|c}} agrees, and they help {{Wtext|Captain Pete|c}} (who hurt his back in the battle).

Later on, they find a window that shows four groups of Heartless (along with some jumping flames) go into windows just moments before the trio entered this world. Your main goal now is to flush out the Heartless from all four windows.

Because he cannot tell which {{Wtext|Pete|c}} is which, {{Wtext|Sora|c}} is confused.

Now head towards the river. You'll find the two {{Wtext|Pete|c}}s arguing over the steamboat, with {{Wtext|Present Pete|c}} throwing {{Wtext|Past Pete|c}} away. Now you must break open the box containing the {{Wtext|Cornerstone|i}}.

After defeating him, {{Wtext|Present Pete|c}} will reveal his door and go through it; {{Wtext|Sora|c}} will then seal the door shut. {{Wtext|Past Pete|c}} then allows the trio to use his steamboat; besides, his first mate is late anyway. After that, you will return to {{Wtext|Disney Castle|l}}, where you will watch a cutscene and open the gates for {{Wtext|Atlantica|l}} and {{Wtext|Port Royal|l}}.
