This is one of the first Disney worlds in the game. Upon landing, a cutscene will begin involving your old ally, {{Wtext|Mushu|c}}, along with a young man named {{Wtext|Ping|c}}. After this humorous cutscene, {{Wtext|Ping|c}} will join the party.

{{Wtext|Ping|c}} cannot be swapped out at this point. You'll also encounter a Moogle Shop. Every time you see one of these, be sure to talk to the {{Wtext|Moogle|c}} and visit the "Synthesis" section. The Moogle will take note on how many Materials you have gathered and will give you prizes every time a quota is filled. Now, walk down the path and you'll reach a camp. Walk to the line of soldiers, and a cutscene will begin, which will introduce you to {{Wtext|Yao|c}}, {{Wtext|Ling|c}}, {{Wtext|Chien Po|c}} and {{Wtext|Captain Li Shang|c}}. During the cutscene, a group of Heartless will attack the camp. You must fight them, but don't let the Morale Gauge on the top left corner of the screne run out, otherwise it's game over. The gauge will go down everytime {{Wtext|Ping|c}} is attacked.

After the battle, the Captain will allow {{Wtext|Sora|c}}, {{Wtext|Donald|c}} and {{Wtext|Goofy|c}} into his army, but will turn down {{Wtext|Ping|c}}. {{Wtext|Sora|c}} asks the captain to give {{Wtext|Ping|c}} another chance, in which he accepts. Now you must do three missions:

Defeat all eight Heartless before the Morale Gauge runs out. The bar is connected to a timer. Use [[Fire]] on the tents to spawn out the hidden Heartless.

After clearing '''The Search''', you'll obtain an [[AP Boost]]--><!--I've double-checked this by doing The Search first; you get an AP Boost, even if you didn't clear the other two, first. It's known for PAL, but I'm unsure for NTSC or 2.5... - Uxie--><!--. After clearing all three, the Captain will now want you to clear a path on the {{Wtext|Mountain Trail|l}}. The trail can be found at the rocky exit at the {{Wtext|Checkpoint|l}}. Once you reach the path, you'll enter a short cutscene with {{Wtext|Hayabusa|c}} flying over the party. Now, you must clear a path by using Rockshatter reaction command on each group of rocks along the path before the Morale Gauge runs out. How the bar goes down is a suprise, meaning either time or being attacked by Heartless can knock it down. If it's the former, once it's low, attack the Heartless and collect some orbs to replenish the gauge. If it's the latter, avoid being hit at all costs.

After completing this mission, {{Wtext|Yao|c}}, {{Wtext|Ling|c}} and {{Wtext|Chien Po|c}} will be impressed by {{Wtext|Ping|c}}, and the Captain will finally allow him to join the army, despite still not being impressed. In the village, Mushu will claim that he saw {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}} walk into a nearby cave. The village will have a Moogle Shop and a save point, so save the game and check the Moogle Store to replenish supplies and hand in Materials. After that, go into the cave and walk to the end. However, you'll soon realize that it's empty. Suddenly, {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}} will send in a horde of {{Wtext|Shadows|e}} and {{Wtext|Assault Riders|e}} to attack {{Wtext|Sora|c}} and {{Wtext|Ping|c}}. Because {{Wtext|Donald|c}} and {{Wtext|Goofy|c}} are sealed out of the battle, neither one of them will be active in the battle.

The {{Wtext|Shadows|e}} are numbered, and can get close to {{Wtext|Sora|c}} in little time; since {{Wtext|Fire|a}} will circle him, use it to take them out quickly. {{Wtext|Blizzard|a}} should work well with the {{Wtext|Assault Riders|e}}. At first, there will only be one {{Wtext|Assault Rider|e}}, but once that (and the {{Wtext|Shadows|e}}) are taken out, two more will appear. Make sure that you have at least one {{Wtext|Potion|i}}, as the {{Wtext|Assault Riders|e}} can really cut Sora's HP.

After the battle, Sora will obtain {{Wtext|Slide Dash|a}}, Ping will gain five more HP along with {{Wtext|Hyper Healing|a}}, and {{Wtext|Donald|c}} and {{Wtext|Goofy|c}} will rejoin the party--><!--Goofy will always be the active one, even if Donald was active before.--><!--. Once you exit the cave, you'll see that the village is in ruins, and {{Wtext|Captain Shang|c}} is wounded. {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}} and his horde of Heartless have headed towards the {{Wtext|Summit|l}}. Head through the mountains and you'll encounter Shan-Yu on top of the summit with a whole bunch of {{Wtext|Rapid Thrusters|e}}. Now, you'll have to fight the {{Wtext|Rapid Thrusters|e}} along with some {{Wtext|Bolt Towers|e}}. The battle is limited to a minute, and you don't have to beat them all. {{Wtext|Sora|c}} fights alone in this battle.

After the battle, {{Wtext|Yao|c}} will bring in a rocket cannon and plans to shoot {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}} with it. {{Wtext|Ping|c}}, however, has a different idea. He snatched the rocket and using {{Wtext|Mushu|c}}, he lights up the rocket, sending it (with {{Wtext|Mushu|c}} still on it) towards the mountain, causing an avalanche and presumally killing Mushu. This sends {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}} off the cliff to his assumed death, and just after the Captain congratulates Ping for finishing off {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}}, {{Wtext|Mushu|c}} pops out of the snow (revealing that he survived) and blows {{Wtext|Ping|c}}'s secret: He is really a she, and her real name is {{Wtext|Mulan|c}}.

Furious, the Captain expels {{Wtext|Mulan|c}} from the army, and does the same to {{Wtext|Sora|c}}, {{Wtext|Donald|c}} and {{Wtext|Goofy|c}} (who knew the truth), rather than execute them. Because her secret has been exposed, {{Wtext|Mulan|c}} takes her armor off and decided to go home. At this point, the game will say "Ping has gone back to being Mulan. Mulan learned a new ability". From now on, {{Wtext|Mulan|c}} will use her real name in gameplay stats. Her limit is now unlocked, and can be used in battle. Just before you regain control of the party, tutorials will appear to tell you about limits and switching party members (unless you have already been to {{Wtext|Beast's Castle|l}}).

Go down the mountains, and a cutscene will begin, in which it's revealed that {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}} had survived the avalanche. Now, your main objective is to return to the {{Wtext|Checkpoint|l}} and reach the palace. Don't forget to save at the {{Wtext|Village|l}}.

Upon reaching the city, no one wants to listen to what {{Wtext|Mulan|c}} has to say... until {{Wtext|Donald|c}} spots {{Wtext|Hayabusa|e}} flying over the palace towards {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}}. Suddenly, some of the soldiers turn into {{Wtext|Nightwalkers|e}}.

These Heartless, which are just a bunch of {{Wtext|Nightwalkers|e}} and {{Wtext|Bolt Towers|e}}, are actually quite easy to deal with. Use {{Wtext|Fire|a}} to deal with the {{Wtext|Nightwalkers|e}}, and attack the {{Wtext|Bolt Towers|e}} with meel damage (as they are immune to magic). Another solution is to use {{Wtext|Mulan|c}}'s limit; {{Wtext|Red Rocket|a}}, which can do quite a lot of damage if your levels are high enough<!--like around, say, level 17? - Uxie--><!--.

After taking out the Heartless, head towards the palace. If you want to save, head back to the {{Wtext|Bamboo Grove|l}} where you first met {{Wtext|Mulan|c}} and {{Wtext|Mushu|c}}. After that, get yourself ready for the boss battle with {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|b}}.

In the first stages of the battle, {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|b}} will continue to send some {{Wtext|Nightwalkers|e}} towards the door; the gauge will go down if the door is attacked, so keep collecting the orbs that are dropped. If the gauge becomes empty, it's game over. {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|b}}'s attacks are mostly focused on {{Wtext|Sora|c}}, so make sure you have at least one {{Wtext|Potion|i}} on hand. Sometimes, {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|b}}'s attacks will collide with {{Wtext|Sora|c}}; if this happens, keep pressing {{Button|Triangle}} to perform the reaction command "Press"; if sucessful, press {{Button|Triangle}} again to perform "Takedown".

Later in battle, when {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|b}} has only half of his HP left, he'll begin to use a dark sweep across the field. He will always aim at {{Wtext|Sora|c}}, so watch out. Jump to dodge, or use {{Wtext|Guard|a}} to enter another collision.

After you defeat {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|b}}, {{Wtext|Sora|c}} will get five more HP, and an [[Aerial Sweep]] ability. {{Wtext|Donald|c}} will get 4 more HP, {{Wtext|Goofy|c}} will get [[Goofy Turbo]] ability and {{Wtext|Mulan|c}} will get twenty more HP. {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|e}}'s sword is revealed to be the item that unlocks the Gate to the next world. Sora then obtains the [[Hidden Dragon]] Keychain.

If {{Wtext|The Land of Dragons|l}} is the first world completed, the route to {{Wtext|Olympus Coliseum|l}} will be unlocked, and you can enter either {{Wtext|Beast's Castle|l}} or {{Wtext|Olympus Coliseum|l}} (after completing the routes on the Gummi Ship for each). If this was the second world completed, and you have not exited this world or {{Wtext|Beast's Castle|l}} during each trip, you will be automatically taken to {{Wtext|Hollow Bastion|l}}. If this is the third world completed, {{Wtext|Disney Castle|l}} is unlocked.

Sora and co visit the town ruins, where they encounter what appears to be a member of Organization XIII. Mulan appears and explains that she is also following him. The party decide to go together, and Mulan rejoins.

According to Mulan, there is a rumor that a spy in black is wondering the mountains. Suddenly a whored of Rapid Thrusters appear and attack the four. Sora spots the man in black, and fights him.

The man escapes, but he seems to weald a [[Soul Eater|familiar weapon]]. After the cutscene, your party rejoins you. Head to the next area to trigger a cutscene, where you encounter the Storm Rider.
