A Vitality Vial's shape resembles that of an hourglass-shaped vial. It has a turquoise body, which fades to yellow towards its base. Its spherical head has two fin-like protrusions poking out from either side of it. Above its red eyes, which are set in a happy expression, is a triangular, pale gold-colored highlight. Above its head is a noticeably thinner "neck", with a pale gold rim. Its "lid" is turquoise with a pale gold highlight and is topped by a large, light blue gem.

The Vitality Vial's Japanese name alludes to its appearance, and the goal of the Battle Mission it appears in: to survive for as long as possible. Its English name alludes to the HP clouds that it releases whenever it is attacked.

The Vitality Vial can be found exclusively in the Dwarf Woodlands. The protagonist's deck should be full with maximum-level Curaga commands, with all Magic Haste abilities and Reload Boost equipped to minimize the commands' reload time. Heal Strike should also be the equipped finisher, allowing them to heal.
The Vitality Vial can be found exclusively in the Dwarf Woodlands. Terra can confront this enemy in the Underground Waterway.<!--Ventus? Aqua?-->

The Vitality Vial will use Draining Mist at the start of the battle, filling the arena with a poisonous mist that will slowly diminish the protagonist's HP. As a survival challenge, the mini-game ends when the protagonist's HP is depleted, but not in a Game Over.
To begin, stock the player's deck full with Curaga commands. Fully levelling up Curaga will increase the amount of HP restored, so consider stocking the player's deck with maximum-level Curaga commands. The effects of the Curaga command are a bit more predictable. Make sure the player character has fully levelled up his Magic Haste ability before proceeding, as the encounter with the Vitality Vial is far more survivable this way.

As the report says, hitting the Vitality Vial will release clouds of HP that will heal the protagonist.
The Vitality Vial will begin by using Draining Mist; it will fill the area with a poisonous mist. This poisonous mist will chop off a fraction of the player character's HP every second. If the player's HP is depleted, the mini-game is ended, but it does not count as a Game Over.

;Terra and Aqua
Attacking the Vitality Vial will release clouds of HP, as the report says. The player character may choose to attack it; however, he/she may run the risk of losing more HP if the Vitality Vial chooses to attack. A more evasive, foolproof strategy would be to attack one of the wheels in the Underground Waterway to open a gate, run to the hidden area beyond it, and stay out of the Vitality Vial's reach. The player character's HP will drop consistently each second, but he/she does not run the risk of being attacked, as the Vitality Vial would not consider going through the gate.
Terra and Aqua can confront this Unversed in the Underground Waterway.

When playing as Terra, a notable strategy is to use Air Slide or Ice Slide and Sonic Impact to catch up to the Vitality Vial, damage it, and heal him. However, Sonic Impact counts as a combo finisher, so the Vitality Vial may warp after Sonic Impact connects. Similarly, when playing as Aqua, equip Ice Slide and Firewheel to damage the Vitality Vial.
Now the player character is safe. When his/her HP drops to the red zone, cast Curaga, wait a few seconds for his/her HP to drop to the red zone, cast Curaga again, and repeat the process for as long as needed to get Illusion-V and/or a three-star rank. Player characters can potentially play this mini-game for an unlimited amount of time by following this strategy, however monotonous it is.

A foolproof strategy is to attack the cog in the area to open the gate and hide from the Vitality Vial. The Vitality Vial will never enter the gate, leaving Terra or Aqua free to survive as long as they can by periodically casting Curaga when their HP is low.

;Ventus
Ventus can find the Vitality Vial in the Mine, the same place where he first attacked the dwarfs.

Unlike Terra and Aqua, Ventus has nowhere to hide from the Vitality Vial. To survive, attack the Vitality Vial with combos, Fire Glide, or Thunder Roll, or get away as far as possible from the Vial before healing.
