TNE was thinking of creating a forum akin to the one you just did, and that essay was going to be an integral part of what we were trying to do. Uh, Bluer posted that staff nominations and elections pretty much fall in the realm of bureaucrats now.  Twice, actually, in the Staff Reorganization topic.  Not because we want to take away any "powers", but because for the last six months, everyone's been spending way too much time discussing staff instead of editing the wiki or working on other stuff.  Since you are leaving, we probably will promote someone to replace you, but that's a conversation he and I really need to have first. {{User:BebopKate/Sig}} 02:08, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

{{BebopKate|time=23:01, August 10, 2010 (UTC)|text=I think Bluer and I got very concerned with how much time was being dedicated to staff elections.  We had a huge conversation about it just now, and we had another massive one not two months ago.  He and I think, much as we value the input and opinions of everyone, that much too much time has been spent on it.
 
It's also part of the wiki being a wiki, I think.  Some editors think there needs to be staff present ''all'' the time.  The fact is we can't.  We're not a massive wiki like FF Wiki.  We have lives; you know this quite well. ^_^  Adding more editors just to "cover the bases" really isn't going to help anything.  I think we just need to tighten our the skills of the current roster.  Also, some people are going to have to learn to be patient and help us control the situation until we can get here. ^_-
 
One other small concern is not in this case, but for the future.  There is a chance someone would try push an election through just so they can have a shot at being a staff member.  We're not trying to remain all-powerful, but we do want people to understand that being a staffer is nothing to be taken lightly, and is a position of responsibility, not superiority.
 
It's certainly nothing you did, Kryten, if that's your concern.  You've been very fair and reasonable in the situation, you handled the conversations well, and have made some great suggestions.  I don't know if promoting me was one of your better ideas, though... ^_^  Seriously, if anyone has any issues with this decision, you may kindly point them to Bluer or myself.}}

I think that, ''especially'' with BBS coming up, we need reliable staff that can monitor the recent additions, delete fake articles, move newly uploaded images, and in general battle "WikiKrakens". I understand that you and Blue are concerned about people spending time on the elections, but there's also the fact that right right now, there isn't much else to do - there is general cleanup, as there is at all times, but when BBS is released in English, we will be ''very'' hard up, and it will be difficult for the current staff to stay on top of the tide. I honestly think that this is the ideal time to get this out of the way, and prepare for "the storm ahead".

I do apologize for my recent inactivity. I have been incredibly busy this summer with marching band, <!--<3 <3 <3 <3 <3-->camps, a lovely vacation, and regular IRC babysitting (which is no longer the case). I've got a life, you guys know that. But honestly, when ''Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days'' came out, I don't remember a copious amount of fake articles and vandalism. There were a few here and there, but nothing that someone cannot ping an active admin about to take out. Also remember than certain inactive admins are available very often by IRC, sepcifically Hexedmagica. I think I've seen Ultima there too.
 
My courses begin again soon, and I will not be able to remain my previous "full activity." I can still do what I can, though, should not be a problem to contact me for administrative purposes. An admin is just as much an editor as any other user, the only deciding factor that can relate an admin's activity to a need for more admins is how easily they can be contacted, and how often they can check the wiki. I should still be able to receive my watchlist updates from my phone and be on my laptop every day to keep up with the notifications, so I see no problem there. I don't think we truly need this staff election. A smaller one for ''Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep'' I would have agreed with, but not the induction of 2+ new admins and several new moderators. Patience needs to be learned, what is wrong with the amount of current staff activity now? Is the wiki crumbling down? Is there mass vandalism that cannot be stopped by admins? Are fake articles and information pouring in? The answer to all of these questions is a big "no". Even with ''Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep'', I do not think levels of vandalism and new editors will rise enough to require two new admins and several new mods. Heck, even just one new admin to replace the [[User:KrytenKoro|Grand Super Special Awesome King Administrator of Ridiculous Greatness]] would be enough, or promoting our two active mods up at the most.
 
Look at the ''Final Fantasy'' Wiki. You know how many active admins they have? No more than five or so. We certainly do not need a full set of, eventually, 10+ admins active on a ''smaller'', ''less active'' wiki.}}

I changed the images used in the articles to the standardized sprites that Shard had uploaded. I deleted most of the rips as "duplicated/superseded", but if you wanted to restore them and rename them to "X Detailed", like with the Champion Belt, that would make sense too. The others were slightly better quality images, though, since they gave a better look at the details of each...Premium Mushroom is a prime example.  In the front image, you can see details such as the XIII emblem, where as in the sprite, you can barely make it out.  I seriously doubt anyone really cares that much about how they appear in a gallery on what is basically an index page so long as they gave a better view of the item in question on the page of the actual item itself. {{User:BebopKate/Sig}} 23:01, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

now, to beat Xaldin, see these things:
# Make sure you're on the proper level to beat him.
# I'd recommend having the [[Circle of Life]] keyblade equipped. (Since it is the strongest one you can have at this point and it gives you [[MP Haste]], which is good for the fact that the MP gauge is recovered much faster!)
# Have as many combo pluses and combo abilities equipped as you can here! remember that you do not need any magical support abilities (except MP Haste (if you have that))! this is more of a physical battle than magical.
# Use the Beast+Sora limit break (forgot it's name) a lot! it can take out 1+ HP bar.
# Change the modes of your party members so that they heal you whenever you are in danger!
# Be sure to stock up on potions/hi-potions and even elixirs, just in case your party doesn't heal you.
# Make sure that you are ready to hit triangle every time "learn" is available! then you can do a combo that knocks him incognitos for some seconds!
# When you are low on HP, stay away from him! and if he does that mechanical laser attack thing, make sure that you're stand up to either the gate or the other gate (you stay at the place where the laser starts!)

Basically what a Let's Play is, is that it's a video walkthrough of a videogame, with the person's own commentary, to add instruction, and entertainment to the viewers. My current Let's Play is of Kingdom Hearts. I'm wondering if you guys would be interested in affiliating with me for the duration of this Let's Play, and any future Kingdom Hearts LPs. I was wondering if you are aware of the Fix template. This template, created two years ago and was declined by me and Hecko, is a work-all maintenance template that is able to combine our larger maintenance templates: the Cleanup, Expand, Images, References, Merge etc.. into one single template. Basically, by writing in the appropriate parameters, you can invoke the relevant categories without the larger templates.  


As a maintenance nazi, I'm split. At one side, I would use the Fix template and start getting them to work into our articles. It can accurately point out which statement needs a cleanup or a citation. This will also reduce the need to use fair-use images as in our larger maintenance templates. But on the downside, the Fix template seems to be of minimal use; not fairly suitable for deletion, or merge notices, among things. Plus, there'll be no more of those cute character quotes as well as avatars that grace our larger maintenance templates. Surely we can use both of them, but that just makes things redundant. I would have invoke the cry "This isn't Wikipedia!" but it's not relevant in this wiki.

The person who removed that one bit of trivia and caused havoc on the Lexaeus and Hayner pages (there's a similarity with their hair, by the way)...... was none other than Eliskuya. And how did I find out, you ask ? Well, he decided to talk to me on the Sims Wiki but because it was crashing, we exchanged MSN/YM adds... and when we talked, he revealed that he was the one who called Xiggie a pain in the you-know-where.


:I like the idea...at least for articles that have a lot to fix, causing us to have an influx of character bubbles that push the article down to somewhere near the Google ads.  For one thing, not so much.  It's not very attention grabbing. It doesn't scream, "I have put a big bubble here to remind you to get on this NOW!" Also, much as I know about the fair-use issue, those little bubbles are kind of endearing.
I told him solemnly, "Please, don't remove it. I was the one who consented to it being there." And he went offline soon after.

As for capability, while we do take the number of edits into account, we also look for those who make valuable or useful edits.  For example, someone who goes around fixing broken links and categories, rewrites an article that needs help, or tinkers with tables to improve the format is someone any wiki would want to have on staff, because it shows an eye for detail.  I first came in and started organizing the individual world articles, for example, as well as fixing little things around the wiki, like articles with missing categories; this is what got me noticed and eventually got me asked to be made an admin.  It applies not just here, but any wiki really.  Since we have a strong community within our wiki, I personally also look for editors who are happy to lend a hand to others, both seasoned editors and new folks alike.

If I were to become an affiliate then I would use the resources you guys and gals provide on the Wiki and thus in return I would leave a link below in the info bar and I would also make an intro for the Let's Play mentioning the Wiki. I don't know if wikia contacted you about it, but they wanted you and bluerfn to do traditional promotions for the KH wikia as soon as you guys were active again; they only agreed to take my suggestion of maggosh as a pro tem measure, and wanted the permanent promotions to be decided by the community remaining at wikia. ('course, if you guys were going to promote maggosh anyway, then 's already done).
==About Amy Cotton==
{{Guardian Soul|text=I think you need to take a look at her talk page.  Lately she's been causing drama because she got banned from two other wikis, and feels that the admins at those wikis are just being unfair to her.  I looked into the matter, and I found what she wrote to get herself banned, which involved cussing off the staff, like she once did to me before. So really, she deserved what she got, and I think it's terrible that she's stirring up drama with all of the members here, who are kind and sympathetic people, only trying to support her, even though she's telling lies.

I also have to say that I don't believe her "sisters" are really sisters at all.  How they write is quite similar, and I believe she uses them as back-ups so that she doesn't get in trouble and/or to receive more attention.  I don't really know how to go about handling this, because I don't know if this deserves a warning or not, but what she's saying is just getting ridiculous and she's talking about dying just because of being banned from a wiki. I know she's just making things up and exaggerating because that's what kids do, but it's going to scare the younger and more trusting members. Please look into it.}}
