Sora, Donald and Goofy get separated from Tia and everyone else. However, Tia has used her powers to create a second Jack made out of crabs to assist them. The fake Jack informs them that there will be a battle at Shipwreck Cove.

Tia is a very calm woman, almost never showing signs of fear. She speaks with an accent and somewhat broken English. Tia seems to have knowledge of the existence of other worlds, as she gives a knowing smile when Sora says he's from "another sea".
She also seems to know about the [[Keyblade]], as she makes a bargain with Sora to release her from her mortal form in exchange for the powers of the sea.

By the time Sora makes it there, Will informs them that Barbossa thought [[Cutler Beckett]] and Davy Jones could be defeated if Tia was freed from her human form, but upon doing so, it did not seem to work. However, Sora still believes that Tia may still be able to help them out, which she does by creating a maelstrom during the battle with Davy Jones.

Tia is a dark-skinned woman with her hair in dreadlocks, with some parts being lighter than the rest. She wears make-up such as eyeliner and various black dots on her cheeks and chin.

Under her orders, Jones would ferry the souls of the drowned to the afterlife. In exchange for ten years of service, he would be allowed to reunite with her for a day and if she was faithful, he could come and go on land or sea forevermore. Though he carried out his duty, Calypso was unable to wait due to her nature. A vengeful Jones then ordered the first Brethren Court to trap Calypso in the human form of Tia Dalma.
