It is an orchestral piece that portrays Roxas's somber and troubled life as a Nobody confused about his identity. A stronger, more mellow, and deeper version of "The Other Promise" appears in ''drammatica: The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura'',  while "The Other Promise" is also featured in the ''[[Piano Collections Kingdom Hearts]]''.
