It's been mentioned, but only as the third out of the heart-body-soul trio that makes up people. XienZo 19:12, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Small technicality....
In the example given, it was Terra's heart that went into his armor, not his soul.

What a Soul is
I'm only saying this because a lot of people seem to think the reason the Lingering Sentiment (or Lingering Will as a name change is being debated) exists is because Terra's Soul went into it. This can't be right, because if you read the bit of the Secret Ansem Reports that mention the Soul, they call it the life force. Meaning, if you take it away the being dies. Master Xehanort only sent his Heart into Terra's body, so something besides his Soul animated the armor. And don't say Heart, because if you've seen Blank Points you'll know Terra's Heart is still a part of the being. --Evnyofdeath 09:10, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
Look at the definition of Soul: "The animating and vital principle in humans, credited with the faculties of thought, action, and emotion and often conceived as an immaterial entity.". The first part says it is a life force like you said but the second part seems to name everything the Lingering Sentiment is. I'm not saying that the LS is Terra's soul and armor but the definition of Soul is very similar to whatever is inside that armor and maybe that's why people think it is Terra's Soul.--Xabryn 11:35, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
:The mind is the soul in the KH series. If Xehanort is correct in saying that the Lingering Will is Terra's resisting mind, then the Lingering Will is a pseudo-Nobody - a lonely soul animating something like a body. 04:08, December 24, 2010 (UTC)
Mind
So the soul is the same as the mind right? 12:31, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
:Actually, this is confusing me too, I'm not sure where people got this. Mind=conscious thought. Soul=life force. I'm not sure where they were equated in the Kingdom Hearts series. I would kind of like this to be true, as it makes things much simpler, but the truth is that just about anything could have animated the Lingering Sentiment--mind, soul, emotion, the Keyblade, practically everything in Kingdom Hearts is conscious, to some extent.Neo Bahamut (talk) 23:11, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
:The only three parts of a person are heart, body, and soul. Soul is the consciousness (and therefore mind). 02:08, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
::Actually, the mind and soul aren't the same thing. In Re:coded, Data-Riku mentions that Heartless have minds. We know that Heartless don't have souls because the souls go with the bodies and form Nobodies. --Elfdemon (talk) 01:40, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

So yeah, we can probably lay that canard to rest now. Not sure where we got it in the first place, actually. 15:21, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
Roxas
This is more of a lore question, but...
If I understand correctly, the light of Kairi's heart gave Sora a new body. Therefore, the main reason Roxas needed to return to him was due to having Sora's leaked memories- but also because he still had Sora's soul, correct? I remember seeing someone somewhere say Sora was lacking/losing power until Roxas returned to him because of this, but I'm not sure if that's actually confirmed or just speculation. -- mikoto 05:38, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
