==Subspecies and variants==
Could we organize this into a table specifying which are the default bosses, and which are their subspecies/event variants?{{User:KrytenKoro/Sig}} 16:29, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
:I'm not sure how this would look like so I tabbed them for the time being. The Purple Gummi Hound uses one attack animation (and replaced the Subspecies) of the Behemoth during the 1st Anniversary event but looks extremly different, the same goes for the Lion Dance Headliner which even became an Emblem. Both the Fierce Queen Bee and its Subspecies only appear during the event, so this is a new development. The different colored Trident Anchors didn't appear during a specific event but during some campaigns and replaced the normal Raid Boss, not the Subspecies. Defining what an event is, is a hard task on its own since they are all very different and Square Enix doesn't use consitent terminology. --{{User:ShardofTruth/Sig}} 17:10, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

:::If I've understood Shard correctly, the Venom Spider is a Subspecies, while the Fierce Queen Bee and Sub are both Event bosses. ::::The Venom Spider looks like a subspecies, but for some reason, isn't called one. For the Queen Bees, we can just put a note below the name specifying the event it appears in. ::::Personally I think it's fine with how vague it's written because it's also vague in the game too.
::::1. Summoning the Raid Boss: They changed the mechanics some weeks ago and nobody really knows how it works anymore. Before you had to defeat around 70 enemies as said on the page but now the number is somehow weighted with the AP you spent for the quest where the enemies appear. As also said on the page after quest 131 there is a chance a Subspecies (the Raid Bosses have exactly the same names as in [chi]) appears instead, which drops rarer loot. Event Raid Booses can typically only be summoned by defeating the last enemies needed for the summoning during the event quests. The event quests (like daily, weekly or permanent challenges) can be accessed in a special sub menu.
::::2. Which Raid Boss appears is dependent on the quests' number the last enemies needed for the summoning were defeated in. There are currently 450 quests and every 10-20 quest the Raid Boss changes.
::::3. The loot: You get munny, Lux and typically medals (exp, evolution or munny) or coins (Event Coins or Raid Coins). The coins have different names but essentially do the same thing: opening up the timed event boards (they work exactly like Avatar or Coliseum boards).

:Originally, these event variants were clearly "inspired" by a former normal Raid Boss, so there was never a boss that lacked this connection. In case of the Gummi Hound this would be the claw attack and in case of the cake the rocket attack, both of them somewhat resemble the attacks of their supposed normal pendants. ::I personally thought the Assault Dragon looked like a variation of the Gummi Hound. However, I think it might be better to replace the current table with a table that shows attributes, like on the Unchained wiki. Maybe something like this:

:That would be helpful (probably smaller tho), but I do think it's important to retain a link between the Boss and Boss Omega variants, since those are mechanically linked in-game. The various event bosses (barring those with Omega variations, like Queen Bee), could definitely be separated, though, as that's not communicating any in-game effect and is just another way of doing what we already do through the infoboxes.{{User:KrytenKoro/Sig}} 19:18, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

== Summon number ==

Pressed the wrong button, so edit saved before I could finish my edit comment. Anyway, I don't think there ever was a set amount of Heartless needed to summon a Raid Boss. There must have been some sort of hidden stat or multiplier involved. I could always summon a raid boss by beating the Proud+ Omega Behemoth (with some raid perks) and I only needed one (sometimes 2, depending on the Heartless) after that to summon a raid boss. {{User:TheSilentHero/Sig}} 17:44, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
