|

| Well, here's a site 1that reveals that the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix will have two chapters that have never been released in North America. This site 1 confirms that KHII Volume 6 will be released in Japan in May 2013. | |
| :right, but the american kh1 series has four volumes, for example, and the final mix series has three, so obviously they're doing some sort of rearranging here. How they organized the chapters is what we need to figure out. 20:50, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
| |
| They're releasing them in two volumes, how many chapters we will have to wait to know. It could be 21 - 22 chapters each, but that's just a guess. KingdomKing97 (talk) 06:40, 24 April 2013 (UTC)KingdomKing97

If so, should they replace the Japanese covers, or be separate (What would the file name be if it's separate, because I'm still not clear on how that works)? Because I can get the cover images, I've seen them everywhere, I just don't know if you guys want it.

| Essentially, yes, except for the Japenese words all over the place, hence my asking, since this is an English wiki. 06:22, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

| EDIT: Sorry, I misunderstood your reply. Rather, I was talking about replacing the Japanese covers, like the KHII and 358/2 Days covers. 05:44, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

|
| |
| :What textbox are you talking about? 03:06, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
| |
| ::Like for the different chapter titles on Kingdom Hearts II (manga), would we get rid of the Japanese titles under Tokyopop/Yen Press titles and create another tab for the Japanese publishers, since the Japanese verison is from Gangan Comics and/or Enterbrain? 03:32, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
| |
| :The Japanese titles exist for the Japanese versions because the titles as seen/taken from the manga as released in Japan. So, we're saying there are four publishers? Tokyopop, Yen Press, Enterbrain, and Gangan Comics? As for creating another tab: No, but the difference should be noted in the main infobox, under "publisher." I'm seeing this for publishers: Tokyopop (English release), Yen Press (English re-release), Gangan Comics (Japanese release)...so far. Are we sure Tokyopop didn't release any Japanese versions? 04:11, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
| |
| ::There is some trace of Tokyopop Japan but I can't find a Japanese website for it. It seems to me that there was only companies in UK and Germany besides U.S. WP first paragraph says "Tokyopop's defunct US publishing division previously published works in English and Japanese." -- I have no idea how to find the works that are Tokyopop published and Japanese. I could probably email and ask. Reason for this question asked: I found some Japanese titles from the YenPress (pretty sure because inside cover font matches outside font for YP) and the second volume was Gangan Comics, but the chapter titles were edited to be in English. I drew so much kanji so I could decode the correct complex kanji form... I can probably upload Japanese covers for CoM. 16:44, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
| |
| :First, those titles would have to be checked with someone who knows Japanese. If you do, then that is awesome. As for edited chapter titles: sounds to me like a fan translation, which is a no-no. Fan translations are not good for quotes/titles/etc. 23:08, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
| |
| ::On edited chapter titles: they were in Japanese originally but drawn over with black then the fan translated title added on it--I wasn't gonna add those. I know a little of kanji (just the english meaning of some), tried to teach myself when i was younger but it didn't really work ^_^" Who should I consult for an official check? 01:37, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
| |
| :Truth be told, unless we run across a [Japanese] site with a list, we'll have to wait until someone with the Japanese versions comes around. 01:50, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

| * Kingdom Hearts (the first series) was serialised in Famitsū PS2 (published by Enterbrain) and was published in tankōbon form by Enterbrain. As Famitsū PS2 is a gaming magazine, it is published in Western format (from left to right), so the first comic series is read from left to right.
| |
| : After the first series was published, Square (which created the first game) merged with Enix (which at that time published several comic magazines under the brand Gangan Comics). Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days were published in-house by the merged company Square Enix in Gekkan Shōnen Gangan (wikipedia:ja:月刊少年ガンガン#連載作品, wikipedia:ja:月刊少年ガンガン#か行), and collected in tankōbon format by the same company. As Gekkan Shōnen Gangan is read from right to left, so are these series. Since the series appeared in comics branded as "Gangan Comics", the words "Gangan Comics" also appear on the front cover, but the words "Square Enix" appear on the backcover, in the indicia (as "株式会社スクウェア・エニックス") and possibly elsewhere. Logos appear on the spine.
| |
| : At some point, the first series was reprinted as "Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix" and published by Square Enix under the "Gangan Comics" brand in three volumes with one or two extra chapters. These are still read from left to right.
| |
| : Source: Original Japanese tankōbon volumes. I haven't bought the latest few volumes yet, but I have all of the older ones.
| |
| : Outside Japan, the Kingdom Hearts series have been published by a variety of different companies, for example Egmont Group, The Walt Disney Company Italy, Tokyopop and Yen Press. These companies do not have anything to do with the publication in Japan. --Stefan2 (talk) 14:26, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
| |
| ::Woah. Thanks! I never really understood why the same comics would be released under Final Mix. If you can understand the language, could you possibly get us the Japanese titles? For just *writing* kanji I use google translate--which has an option to draw the kanji when typing, it's really helpful! Thank you! 16:40, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
| |
