== Goofy's Skillset and Insignia ==

I think Goofy's skill to hold a shield is an insignia of protection, just like what the Dream Shield was meant for. Goofy cares a lot about his friends and therefore would do anything to protect them, just like when he saves Sora from Riku's deadly attack.
