I'm currently playing through KH2FM and found that Sora wears no crown in Halloween Town or Christmas Town.  The article specifically states:

:I have.  I've completed all Mushroom XIII minigames and received the Winner's Proof keyblade.  I'm playing an English patched version of it.  I could attempt to record myself in one world in which Sora does wear the crown, hop to Halloween Town, and show that it's not worn there if it would help.
