The Star Seeker is the first Keyblade that Sora obtains in Kingdom Hearts II after his original Keyblade, the Kingdom Key. It is given to him by Yen Sid (No it isn't, "Xiggy." Actually watch the cutscene. Yen Sid's in another room entirely. Some fans actually come here for information, so make sure the info's true before supporting it.) after his new clothes are created by Flora, Fauna and Merryweather, and he is given the ability (by using a drive form) to wield two Keyblades at once.

The Star Seeker is not initially an equipable item, since it is originally Sora's sub-weapon for Valor form. It cannot be equipped as Sora's primary weapon until the Hidden Dragon is obtained (or Hero's Crest if the heroes travel from Twilight Town to Beast's Castle and then to Olympus Coliseum).

The Star Seeker is the default form of King Mickey's first Keyblade and a Keychain for Sora's Keyblade that was introduced in Kingdom Hearts II. In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, it can be upgraded to the Star Seeker+.

Story
Acquisition
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
The Star Seeker is part of a group of weapons associated with Yen Sid's tower, along with the corresponding staff (the Comet Staff) and shield (The Falling Star). These weapons are decorated with crescent moons and stars, and are the second weapons available to the party.
Mickey uses the Star Seeker throughout his Mark of Mastery exam. Following Terra-Xehanort's defeat, Mickey dejectedly returns the Keyblade to Yen Sid, thinking he has failed, only for Yen Sid to give it back to him, revealing Mickey has passed.

Kingdom Hearts
Star Seeker also make a reference to the worlds in the universe of Kingdom Hearts, since stars refer to the worlds. It is given to Sora early in Kingdom Hearts II to indicate the start of his travels through the worlds. Also, it reinforces that Mickey is in the beginning of his travels in the secret video in Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+.
Mickey uses the Star Seeker on his mission to locate the Kingdom Key D and seal the Door to Darkness. Once he finds the Kingdom Key D, he ceases using the Star Seeker until after Xemnas's defeat.Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-

Kingdom Hearts II
In Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories, the Star Seeker can be obtained in the 13th floor (Castle Oblivion) using a Key to Rewards card - that too, as a Reverse/Rebirth Completion Bonus (or a Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ completion bonus in the Japanese version of Re:Chain of Memories).
When Sora visits Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather to obtain his new clothes, he obtains the Star Seeker as the Keyblade for his new Valor Form.

Kingdom Hearts coded
Appearance
Mickey resumes using the Star Seeker during his mission to fix the bugs in Jiminy's Journal.
The guard appears to be two shooting stars. The blade is blue and decorated with stars, while the end is a crescent moon and star. The key chain design is a crescent moon.
Appearance in Final Mix
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
In the secret ending movie of Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix, King Mickey is briefly shown, wearing a different outfit than usual and wielding the Star Seeker. The shot is brief, and no context is given, nor an explanation of the shot's relation to the battle that occurs earlier in the video. Some fans have speculated that the shot of Mickey shows him during his apprenticeship to Yen Sid, since the Keyblade he wields is associated with the sorcerer.
When Sora proclaims to Xigbar that his strength comes from his friends, Xigbar sees an image of all of the people linked to Sora behind him, including Mickey wielding the Star Seeker.

Kingdom Hearts III
In the Jump Festa 2008 trailer of Birth By Sleep, he is seen being trained with Donald and Goofy under Yen Sid. He is hit by a Thunder spell.
After the Kingdom Key D is damaged by a Demon Tower, Yen Sid fuses it with the Star Seeker to create the Star Cluster.

Design
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
The guard appears to be two shooting stars. The blade is blue and decorated with stars and curves near the tip on one side with a golden crescent moon and star on the other side. In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Mickey wields it such that the curve acts as the teeth, while in all other instances, the star and crescent moon serve as the teeth. The Keychain design is a crescent moon. The Keyblade's name seemingly references Mickey and Sora's journeys to the various worlds, which are seen as stars.

The Star Seeker is part of a group of weapons associated with the Mysterious Tower, along with the Comet Staff and Falling Star. These weapons are decorated with crescent moons and stars, and are the second set of weapons available to the party.
King Mickey is also seen in several screenshots from the upcoming PSP game. This suggests he has not yet acquired his golden Keyblade, and also that King Mickey was one of the first known Keyblade Masters.

Gameplay
Kingdom Hearts Coded
King Mickey can equip this Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Mission Mode by equipping the Pandora's Gear. The ground combo for this weapon starts with a horizontal slash to the left, followed by a horizontal slash to the right, a spinning slash, and ends with a large jump to the left with a dashing slash back to the right.
King Mickey is seen weilding the Star Seeker instead of his usual Keyblade.

The aerial combo consists of a horizontal slash to the right finishing with a vertical slash upward, followed by the upward slash leading into a 360° spin with the Keyblade held above the King's head, and ends with a series of three thrusts as he descends.
