The '''Ability''' system in ''[[Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance]]'' is highly similar to {{c|Abilities|BBS|that of ''Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep''}}. Passive abilities are managed from the Abilities menu, as active abilities are implemented through the {{c|Deck Command|BBS}} system.
 
The Abilities list is divided into '''Stat Abilities''', '''Support Abilities''', and '''Spirit Abilities'''. In order to equip abilities, the player must unlock them from their Spirit [[Dream Eater]]s' [[Ability Link]] maps.
