Background
Aegis is the Greek word for "shield". The most famous Aegis is the one that belonged to Zeus, king of the gods, in Greek mythology. Made of goatskin and decorated with the head of a gorgon in the center, it was held or used in many myths by Zeus' daughter, Athena, goddess of wisdom.
