In the movie, she is voiced by Whoopi Goldberg and in ''[[Kingdom Hearts II]]'', [[Tress McNeille]].

'''Banzai''' is the slyest of the group. Constantly hungry and moaning for food, he skuttles round the place for food. His name means 'skulk' or 'lurk'. In the movie and Kingdom Hearts II, he is voiced by [[Cheech Marin]].

== The movie ==
In the movie ''The Lion King'', Shenzi, Banzai and Ed are sent to kill Simba by Scar. They fail, but tell Scar that Simba will never return. They then live in blissful, but forced, peace with the lions for years. But then Simba returns, and Shenzi, Banzai and Ed are thrown into a battle against the lions. They eventually make peace by killing Scar, who tried to pin the crime of killing Mufasa on them.
 
== Kingdom Hearts II ==
In the game, the trio are desperate for food and try and eat [[Sora]], [[Donald]] and [[Goofy]]. They fail, but then try and eat [[Timon and Pumbaa]]. Sora an co. save the two friends by defeating the hyenas in a boss battle.
 
Later on in the game, the trio of hyenas for fought again for information on the source of Scar's ghost. They know nothing of the ghost, and taunt Simba about the ghosts. They are not seen again after that.
