Rune Tech are colored purple. A Rune Tech is represented by a long, thin jewel with a pointed tip and a wide base, sprouting five small appendages. A Rune Tech+ is similar to a Rune Tech, but the base sprouts seven longer appendages. A Rune Tech++ is similar to a Rune Tech+, with the upper appendages taking the shape of wings.
Rune Tech materials are represented by purple jewels with a [[List of Synthesis Materials|Tech material]] structure.


The material's name refers to {{w|Runic magic|magical runes}}, which reflect the material's use in synthesizing weapon panels focusing on Magic.
