Melody Catcher is a technique that appears in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. It allows the user to follow along with the music to damage enemies or change the surroundings.

The ability's Japanese name "Fantasmic" references the nighttime show Fantasmic!, which plays at various Disney parks, including Disneyland, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and (formerly) Tokyo DisneySea.

In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Melody Catcher is the Reality Shift in Symphony of Sorcery. When activated, the player must use the touchscreen and stylus to tap out the beat of the notes given as well as follow the directions that the notes flow. Both Sora and Riku use their own specific music during their respective visits; music is based on "Symphony No.6 "Pastoral" Op.68" for Sora, and music from "The Nutcracker Suite" plays for Riku (the game randomly picks between "Waltz of the Flowers" and "Trepak" for Riku). For both characters, "L'Apprenti Sorcier" will play at the Tower. The bottom screen is black with the notes appearing for the Reality Shift.
<!--While Sora uses it in his visit, the music is based on the Pastoral Symphony. Riku's visit, on the other hand, uses Waltz of the Flowers from the Nutcracker Suite.-->

<!--It can be used to move items out of the way when Riku or Sora uses Reality Shift on an item with a treble clef.
In Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, the player instead must press or hold the respective buttons in time with the notes. Instead of a black screen, the Reality Shift shows the landscape of the area where it is initiated with the notes and buttons appearing on a line instead.

Trivia
* Data in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance revealed that there were two more versions of Melody Catcher planned, one based on Trepak from the Nutcracker Suite, and another based on The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
