Although maps only appear in ''[[Kingdom Hearts II]]'', ''[[Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep]]'', ''[[Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-]]'', and ''[[Kingdom Hearts III]]'', the minimap feature is also present in ''[[Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days]]'', ''[[Kingdom Hearts Re:coded]]'', and ''[[Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance]]'', and is automatically unlocked from the start of the game, and are available during boss fights. Maps are mostly found in large [[treasure chest]]s, but some are automatically obtained after certain events. Instead of being stored in the "Items" menu, maps are listed in the journal.
