The Mad Safflower's ground combo begins with a quick slash upwards and to the side; this lifts Marluxia into the air. The combo continues with a toss of the Mad Safflower into the air; the weapon flips backwards, 360 degrees. If the ground combo is not continued after this, Marluxia performs a quick, 360-degree finisher. If the ground combo is continued, however, Marluxia tosses the Mad Safflower into the air a second time before executing a 360-degree finishing slash.
 
The Mad Safflower's aerial combo consists of a slash to the right, followed by a swing to the left. This can be done twice, depending upon the height of Marluxia's jump.
