The '''Lump of Horror''' is an [[Unversed]] that is found in ''[[Kingdom Hearts III]]''. It is the final boss of [[Monstropolis]].

==Story==

The Lump of Horror is a trump card [[Vanitas]] gifted to [[Randall]] to use in case of interference with their plans to use the Unversed to collect children's screams at Monster's Inc. It remained inactive while the lesser Unversed collected scream energy to fuel it. When [[Sora]], [[Donald]], [[Goofy]], [[Mike]] and [[Sulley]] try to find [[Boo]]'s door to send her back home, they take out several traps Randall set. At wit's end, Randall attempts to activate the Unversed. 

Vanitas arrives shortly after the heroes leave and uses the scream energy of the canisters stored inside to breathe life into the Lump of Horror. They take it through a [[Corridor of Darkness]] to the Door Vault, having it play possum in its inert state. After letting Mike think it's another futile attempt, Randall commands the Lump of Horror to get rid of the heroes and harvest Boo's screams.

However, after a long battle, the Unversed runs out of scream energy. Its dark slime form soon dissolves, leaving behind the empty canisters and machinery. A furious Randall kicks an empty canister before getting banished from Monstropolis again.

==Design==
The Lump of Horror is a goopy dark mass of negative emotions (primarily screams). It has a sad Unversed face at the bottom of its body. On top is the seal of the container, which is a blue sphere bearing the Unversed insignia. To its sides and back are several canisters of screams, which give it power.

It takes a more slim, defined shape when it spreads its body over the area. Its head now looms on top of a thin body, with wings to the side, and bears the Unversed insignia right above its eyes. This new form gives the Lump of Horror a more jack-o-lantern appearance.

==Strategy==
The Lump of Horror can prove one of the more difficult bosses of the game. The Unversed boasts high [[defense]] and has an arsenal of damaging attacks. Its most often used attack is a sliding tackle which it can perform three times in quick succession. It will also spit out a cluster of fireballs from its mouth. Another attack has the Unversed sink its arms into the floor, summoning six arms that will toss fireballs at the party. The arms have little [[HP]] and can be destroyed for [[MP]] orbs. Keep a safe distance when the Unversed emits steam from the scream canisters on its body. Getting hit will inflict the thundercloud status aliment on party members.

The boss can do major damage from tackles, often taking a chunk of Sora's HP with it. It's best to stay at a distance and use preferably [[Blizzard]] [[magic]] as it is the element it resists the least against, they can home in on the Lump of Horror using [[Scan]]. [[Aero]] is not recommended, as it only hits once in a single location. To ensure maximum damage, equip the [[Water Cufflink]] and/or [[Fire Cufflink]]s to gain access to the powerful -za level spells. The [[Mirage Staff]], [[Double Arrowguns]], and [[Hunny Spout]] [[Formchange]]s are vital choices for those who wish to fight at a distance.

For those who wish to fight the Lump of Horror head-on, the [[Crystal Snow]] is the perfect option. The Lump of Horror is primarily weak to Blizzard and its two Formchanges, [[Blizzard Claws]] and [[Blizzard Blades]], the latter of which is powerful enough to stagger the Lump of Horror at times. They are also accompanied with excellent reaction time so when the boss emits steam, Sora can scratch dodge in the middle of a combo, barring the second finisher, to avoid getting hit. In addition, the fast combo nature of [[Blitz Form]] will increase the chances of inducing a stagger, allowing for an extra flurry of uninterrupted combos. Combining these with the [[Blizzard Cufflink]] will increase blizzard damage and give access to [[Blizzaza]] to help maximize damage output. If the player does not have the Crystal Snow and still wishes to fight head on, the [[Favorite Deputy]] is useful as it can deal high melee damage with the [[Hyper Hammer]] and the [[Drill Punch]], the latter of which also has a chance to stagger the Lump of Horror, preventing it from attacking until it recovers.

Once the Lump of Horror has taken enough damage, it will change into a larger, winged form and darken the area. Its defense is significantly weaker, but the area becomes more dangerous due to numerous arms spreading out. Though they do less damage that the Lump of Horror's tackles, they hit almost consecutively. An Ultimate Finish from a Formchange such as the Mirage Staff can clear the arms easily leaving the Lump of Horror vulnerable. In this form, the Lump of Horror attacks with a harmless gust of wind that pushes the party back. Run and dodge, while sticking to the early method of long-distance magic. Though if Sora has a good stock of [[Potions]] and [[Ether]]s to restore [[MP]] for [[Cure]], he can also charge straight at the Unversed for physical attacks. While having locked onto it, he can also combine Counter Kicks after guarding against each gust of wind, or use Rage Form's counter attack within range to deal huge damage. Though it will eventually revert to its normal form after enough time passes, it can be forced to revert to its normal form by performing the [[Goofy Bombardier]] [[Team Attack]] while locked onto it.
