Lucid is a material type introduced in Kingdom Hearts. Lucid materials contain the essence of emptiness and radiance.
Lucid is a material type available in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. Lucid materials contain the essence of emptiness and are associated with Gravity magic.

Design
Design
Lucid materials are transparent. A Lucid Shard is a blocky, crescent-shaped jewel. A Lucid Stone consists of three jewels, one shaped like an uneven cube and two with an oblong, pointy shape. A Lucid Gem consists of four jewels, a large facet cut jewel, with two smaller facet cut jewels at the sides, and a small, diamond-shaped jewel at the bottom. A Lucid Crystal consists of a large star-shaped jewel, with a smaller facet cut jewel at the bottom, and a diamond-shaped jewel on either side.
Lucid materials have an Elemental material structure and are clear<!--Lucid materials are clear. They appear black because of the background-->.

The material's name refers to its transparency, and the essence of emptiness it contains. "Lucid" can also mean "bright" or "luminous", which reflects the association with light and radiance.
The word "lucid" means "clear" or "transparent", hence their transparency. This is also reflective of the "essence of emptiness" that the materials contain.
