The '''''Kingdom Hearts II manga''''' is the third series in the ''{{c|Kingdom Hearts|series}}'' manga series. It generally follows the events from ''[[Kingdom Hearts II]]''. It was first published in Japan in 2006. Because Shiro Amano worked on the ''{{c|Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days|manga}}'' manga series in the meantime, it took until 2015 for the series to finish.
The '''''Kingdom Hearts II''''' '''manga''' is the third series of the [[Kingdom Hearts series (manga)|''Kingdom Hearts'' manga]]. It was based on ''[[Kingdom Hearts II]]''.


The first two volumes were translated into English by Tokyopop in 2007 before they lost the rights to the manga.
The series has had an irregular release pattern due to Amano working on the [[Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (manga)|''Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days'' manga]], resulting in it being postponed for several years. In Japan, the series was serialized in ''{{w|Gangan Comics#Monthly Shōnen Gangan|Monthly Shōnen Gangan}}'', spanning a total of ten volumes, with the last issue being released on August 22, 2015. The Tokyopop version only translated volumes one and two before losing the rights to the manga. However, between 2013 and 2017, Yen Press reissued the whole manga into four volumes.


In 2013, the manga was translated to English in full by Yen Press, combining all ten volumes into four larger volumes.
''Kingdom Hearts II'' seems to take a more serious tone than ''{{c|Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories|manga}}'', but still has some humorous scenes.


==Volumes==
The front cover of the Tokyopop and Yen Press first volume shows [[Roxas]] and a sleeping [[Sora]] floating in what appears to be a scene from Roxas's awakening during his [[Dive to the Heart]]. The second Tokyopop cover features Sora, [[Donald Duck|Donald]], [[Goofy]], [[Naminé]], [[Hayner]], [[Pence]], [[Olette]], [[Roxas]], [[Axel]], [[DiZ]], [[Riku|an unknown hooded figure]], and several members of [[Organization XIII]]; with an image of [[Radiant Garden|Hollow Bastion]] in the background. The second Yen Press volume shows Sora, Donald, and Goofy in front of [[Beast's Castle]] and [[The Land of Dragons]]. The third volume shows Sora, Donald, Goofy, and King Mickey fighting Shadow Heartless with Kairi holding Pluto in the background.

*Before fighting Seifer in the game, you are given the choice to choose from a Struggle Sword, Hammer and Wand. In the manga adaption, Seifer tosses a Struggle Sword (the well balanced one) at Roxas' feet, giving him no other option but to use this.
*The only Keyblade's Sora/Roxas are able to use are Oblivion, Oathkeeper, and the Kingdom Key.
*When [[Roxas]] first encounters the [[Dusk]] [[Nobody|Nobodies]], they form a sort of cage around Roxas and carry him towards a portal. Just before they reach the portal, the [[Keyblade]] appears.
*The photo is with Roxas and his friends at the beach instead of in front of the gate by the Haunted Mansion.

*Olette tried to stop Axel, with a baseball bat, covered in nails.
*Vexen's replica follows Axel and Kairi to observe her.
*The past Mickey helps fight Pete, along with the past Pete while Sora and co. don't even get the chance to fight him.
*The past Pete called his boat "Willy" as in "Steamboat Willy."
*Pete dumps the Cornerstone of Light into the river. The past Pete then hits Pete and say he shouldn't throw unknown objects into the river. The past Pete then dives to get the stone out from the river.
*When Sora, Donald, and Goofy are just about to leave Timeless River, Donald's vision on what will happen if he do something to alter the future is revealed. Donald was thinking about "Mount. RushDonald", (spoof of the actual Mount. Rushmore) "Statue of Donald", (spoof of the actual Statue of Liberty) and "King Donald".
*Donald found the seed of the thorns that covered the room, Daisy then violently stomped on the seeds.
*At the end of chapter 30, it's revealed that Mickey was going to save the Disney Castle. But after Sora, Donald, and Goofy saved the castle, he states that it's not his turn to appear and then he left, thanking the three heroes.
*Axel stole Demyx's coat, which had a transmitter in it.
*Saïx met Seifer's gang and beat them up for information on Axel.
*Kairi escaped Axel, by biting his arm.
*Seifer's hat now has Kairi's name printed upon it, as a result for his love for her.
*Axel tells Kairi that he would dissolve into the darkness if he didn't wear an Organization coat.-->
