The Hostile Program is an executable deployed by the Master Control Program to destroy Hollow Bastion in Kingdom Hearts II. It serves as a boss during Sora's first visit to Space Paranoids.

The Hostile Program is an attack virus created by the MCP, and is found in Kingdom Hearts II. It is one of the bosses at Space Paranoids. It appears to be based on the local Heartless, though it is not a Heartless, and its basic body is a grey, robotic creature.

The Hostile Program is found in the DTD as part of an emergency self-destruct program for the town. While its being loaded into the Tower, Tron and Sora face off against it. After Sora confirms Tron helps out Users because they're friends, they work together to fight the Hostile Program. The Hostile Program has its armor chipped away by the attacks until ultimately crashing and being deleted, saving the town.
Upon realizing the threat of Tron and Sora, the Master Control Program had Commander Sark deploy a special program virus called the Hostile Program. It caused chaos for the computer world as well as the real world in Hollow Bastion. After defeating the Hostile Program, Tron gives Sora the Photon Debugger keyblade.

Strategy
Design
The Hostile Program is quite simple. Collect the clusters which drop until you have maxed out the gauge, then cast the "Freeze" Reaction command. The Hostile Program will then stop momentarily.
The Hostile Program is large and robotic in appearance. It has a smooth, oval-shaped upper body that is indigo in coloration and lined with light grey and red computer circuitry. Nine red, conical spikes protrude from the upper body, and an opening on the front side of it reveals the Hostile Program's three glowing, yellow eyes, which are arranged in a triangular pattern. A smaller opening appears just below this one.

The Hostile Program's lower body is small, predominantly silver, and lined with indigo and red circuitry. It ends in four small, silver appendages.
Switch into your Drive Form and begin unleashing your strongest attacks. A simple strategy would be to use your "Setup" Limit command, as the Hostile Program is quite weak against this attack.

This enemy's arms are not attached to its body. Instead, they hover at its sides. The arms are translucent, violet tubes with pink spikes in them. The Hostile Program has grey "elbows" lined with indigo and red circuitry, and both its hands end in three pink, squared-off fingers with black and red circuitry on them.
Keep an eye on the large clusters that the Hostile Program towards you. It will either collide into you, or rapidly fire several lasers at you. These can easily be avoided, but may outnumber you. Once the Hostile Program has taken enough damage, it will begin to charge around the room several times, so quickly run to the center.

The Hostile Program's name reflects its nature as a computer program tasked with eliminating Sora and his friends.
It's second attack is similar to a laser pointer, emitting from it's hands. This attack is slow, but you will need to avoid them. A second occasion is when the Hostile Program sends these beams swarming all over the place. It can be tricky to avoid, so watch the pattern carefully. Try dodging and jumping, although I can't guarantee you won't get hit at least once.
Strategy
The battle against the Hostile Program is relatively straightforward. Sora must first collect the clusters that drop whenever he attacks the boss until a gauge is filled. He must then use the "Freeze" Reaction Command to temporarily immobilize the Hostile Program. After a short while, the boss comes to and forces Sora to repeat this process from square one.

To deal as much damage to the Hostile Program as possible while it is incapacitated, Sora should rely on his Drive Forms and Tron's Complete Compilement Limit. The Hostile Program's laser attacks can be avoided with relative ease through a combination of well-timed jumps and dodges, but when the boss starts charging around the battlefield, Sora must run to the center of the area to avoid taking damage. He shouldn't use the Freeze Reaction Command when the Hostile Program charges with Boost and then use Laser, or else it will stay invincible while frozen.
If they begin spinning around the room, you need to jump. If they begin to move in a vertical motion, wait until you are able to pass underneath them and get out of it's path. When they start spinning around the room quickly, you might see it as a nightmare to avoid it, but watch the pattern, as you will eventually get the hang of it.

In the original, PlayStation 2 version of Kingdom Hearts II, Sora can use the Explosion ability to exponentially increase the amount of orbs the Hostile Program drops when hit. A bug in the PlayStation 3's PlayStation 2 emulator causes the Hostile Program to stay invincible, rather than fire lasers. This issue can be corrected via a bug fix available through the PlayStation Network.
Because this battle requires to collect orbs, equip Explosion. This easily increases the amount of orbs that drop.

*The Hostile Program, The Experiment, Hayner, Riku, and the Lingering Sentiment are the only five boss characters in the game who are not originally Disney or Final Fantasy characters, Heartless, or Nobodies, though the Hostile Program and The Experiment are based on Disney characters. These characters are located in the journal entries as antagonists, with red squares.

*Hostile Program could not be defeated on early copies of PlayStation 3. Instead of firing lasers, it became invincible. This bug can now be fixed by downloading an update from PlayStation Network.
