The Honey Bees first appeared in the 1966 animated featurette ''{{w|Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree}}''. When Pooh tries to climb a tree with a balloon to get the treasure trove of honey in a nest, he is attacked by the bees. He falls into a mud pit, where he covers himself with some mud on to disguise himself as a rain cloud, but is once again attacked by the bees and Christopher Robin comes to his rescue.
While they were not an official character, the Honey Bees first appeared in ''Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree''.
