Just because it didn't get a journal entry doesn't mean it wasn't the Red Armor, especially since it has the exact same stats. Furthermore, every re-colored enemy (in the same game) is always a new enemy in the series.

during the phil cup of kh1 the guard armor appears as a red recolour, this was before the heartless appearing in the cup was changed to be an original heartless: the red armor

It's not a a simple palette swap, the changes made to the skin could very well mean that it should look more like the very popular 18-meter statue worthy Gundam

There is no source confirming that it is intentional that I know of, but companies rarely make official statements about references to series they don't own. The scheme is so similar (especially the chest) that I find it worth at least making note of.

Undo revision 597504 by 129.21.114.45 (talk) Any source that confirms the color scheme is intentional?

This time a link is provided. Check and compare the color schemes before you decide to instantly undo the change. Also note that this is the color scheme of the Final Mix version of the boss, which is NOT the purple color scheme we all know and love.
