The handles Data-Sora's equipment in Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, including Keyblades, accessories, and Finish commands. In effect, the Gear Matrix determines how the Overclock system is implemented.

The handles Sora's equipment, split into "Keyblade" and "Accessory." Throughout the game, Sora will gain new Keyblades that change the passive abilities he gets through the Overclock program's Leveling system. By continuing to use the same Keyblade, its level will increase, unlocking more of the abilities to access from different branches. When the Clock Gauge filled the MAX Level of each branch, the "Attack" command will change into a Finish Command as set in the Keyblade section.

Overclock
Finish Commands can be obtained by exchanging SP in certain System Areas, breaking Rare Prize Blocks, or buying from the Moogle Shop.
As Sora successfully uses the Attack command and Deck Commands on enemies or certain objects, the clock gauge fills up. Each time the gauge fills completely, the clock level increases by one, activating an ability on the equipped Keyblade's unique Clock Ability Tree and moving on to the next tier. The abilities that will be activated on the tree can be selected on the touchscreen, or in the Gear Matrix. As a Keyblade chip levels up through use in battle, additional abilities will be unlocked on the tree.

When an endpoint on the tree has been reached, filling the clock gauge again changes the Attack command to activate the equipped Finish command. The higher the clock level is when using the Finish command, the more powerful it is. Once the command has been used, the clock level returns to one, and all abilities on the tree from level 2 and on will deactivate.
Accessories are equipped in a similar fashion to the rest of the series, with each granting special bonuses, such as resistance to certain elements or stat boosts. More Accessory Slots can be acquired through progression on the Stat Matrix.

Keyblades are obtained by advancing the story, defeating bosses, destroying Rare Prize Blox and by redeeming SP in certain System Sectors. Each Keyblade has different strengths, speeds, combos, and Overclock abilities. Keyblades level up with use in battle, unlocking different Overclock abilities.

Finish command chips
Finish Commands are activated with dsa. Only one Finish command can be equipped at a time. There are three types of Overclock Finishers:

* Simple Type Finish Commands are performed with no further input from the player.
* Command Input Type Finish Commands are performed by pressing various buttons at specific times to add attacks, with a powerful finisher being performed if enough successful inputs are made within the time limit.
* D Magic Type Finish commands are performed by using the D-Pad and dsa to aim and fire the finisher, which persists for a specified amount of time.

Finishers have three usable levels based on the Overclock level in effect when they are performed. Lower-level finishers can be performed by selecting a clock ability of the desired level that activates finishers, allowing for more frequent use. Higher-level finishers can be typified by additional power, extra attacks, and/or longer time limits. Spinner Ray always operates at Lv. MAX.
Finish commands
Finish commands are obtained by completing various tasks, and only one can be equipped at any time. They are split into three types; Type A, Type B, and Type C. Type A Finish Commands are marked with a light blue "X" symbol, Type B Finish commands with a red one, and Type C ones with a purple symbol. Type A Finish commands are performed by pressing dsa when prompted, and require no further interaction from the player. Type B Finish Commands are performed by pressing dsa when prompted, followed by pressing various buttons at specific times. Type C Finish commands are performed by pressing dsa when prompted, followed by using the D-Pad to aim, and tapping dsa repeatedly.
