| We all know how this event, should it be created, will work: some users will most certainly jump at the chance, both Wiki-Princess and actual mainspace editors. Next, a flood of Wiki Princesses will flock to the roleplay and edit just that, nothing else. This leaves a handful of users to edit the mainspace. Don't know about you guys, but I get pretty sick and tired of seeing the same handful of editors work their butts off while others simply use this place as a blog, social get together. Seriously, actual edtiors get surpassed in edits by WikiPrincess' edits to talkpages, irrelevant forums, blogs, etc. We've seen this happen many many times. Note: I'm not naming any names or singling out anyone, I believe we all know who lies where. | | We all know how this event, should it be created, will work: some users will most certainly jump at the chance, both Wiki-Princess and actual mainspace editors. Hmm, I don't have time for a chat roleplay seeing as I can't always be there, and I can't see old posts to see what everybody is creating. SO it does have to be forum based as I'm sure others are in the same predicament of time constraints. I figured the answer would be to host if off this wiki anyway so I went ahead and brought that up, there are such sites as GaiaOnline that I'm sure several wiki-ers already have an account on that can easily be used to make a wiki guild there for roleplay and such, seeing as Gaia largely used for roleplaying. I hadn't thought about the WikiPrincess' actually, a good point out which I think singularly blows the idea all away from being hosted on this wiki. So I agree with every point you made I think... The only prject around I might could be helpful on is the Project ENEMY, I don't think I've even checked that out before but I might can do it. Mostly I was adding gameplay to the Days weapons before the move. }} | | {{Galexgan|time=17:56, 9 June 2011 (EDT)|terra2= Right on! I really appreciate the criticism, thanks. | {{The Inexistent|KRCCFNF='''First off, the timeline should be set somewhere within the timeframe of the current Kingdom Hearts Universe, for accuracies sake. Before Nobodies and such existed, the mechanics and physics of the entire universe could be entirely different. BUT, the plot will be modified slightly. We're going to assume that Sora's quest and all side quests of all other entities were frozen shortly before the end of Kingdom Hearts II, meaning that Org XIII still exists, etc, etc. You may be wondering what this does, so I'll explain my resoning. Have you ever played Pirates of the Carribean online? If you have, then you should understand this concept. With the plot frozen, all of their motives are still in place, and while you can still interact with all of them with the normal laws of the Kingdom Hearts Universe. Thus, this roleplay would never have to end, and could be a perpetual thing (which, as I said, would be beyond awesome on the Wikia).'''

| '''All players would start normally, on some home world liked Traverse Town or Twilight Town. They would learn the basics (game mechanics, and such), and then choose from a variety of basic weapons. As the game progressed, they would have different counters that would raise and fall with each quest, specifically Light, Dark, and Nothing counters, which would determine the player's affiliation with Light, Darkness, or Nobodies. There would also be weapon levels, which would increase with EXP, so the player could get more and more advanced weapons, magics, and items. The final counter would be a "Heart" level, or how strong the player's heart is. Once it reached a certain point, the player would be able to wield a Keyblade (which you could obtain different Keychains for through different quests in different worlds, which, by the way, would all be featured). And, yes, there would be some sort of place where players could battle, like the Keyblade Graveyard.'''

| '''Death. It's inevitable, even for roleplay characters. There would be three ways that a player could die. First, they could be killed by another player, which would only knock them out. The second is that they could be killed by a Heartless, which, would, in turn, make the player into a Heartless. The player could only be returned to their former self by being slain by a Keyblade weilder. BUT, based on the strength of their Heart, they would become differnt levels of (Pureblood) Heartless, and they could drag other players into darkness. The third and final method is to be consumed by darkness, again. BUT, if they were powerful enough, they could choose between being a Heartless or a Nobody. In order to return to humanity, the Heartless would have to destroy the Nobody and then die, or the Nobody would have to destroy the Heartless and then be destroyed. In addition, if the player was extremely high level, they could become a humanoid Nobody, like Organization XIII. They would retain all of their weapons and abilities, and would return to humanity the same way as lower level Nobodies. At the same time, however, they could join or create an Organziation, and try to raise their "Heart Count", or number of Hearts needed to create their own world, which, if achieved, could hold new quests ande new Heartless, as players able to achieve this ultimate feat could easily design excellent quests.'''}}

| Absolutely not on the wiki.
| |
|
| |
| Time and time again, the purpose of this wiki's existence is forgotten and cast aside like some kind of pointless definition. Newsflash, people, it's not. Our purpose defines this wiki and what we strive to create and work toward. This wiki isn't one designed for chatting, random discussion, fanart, fanfiction, and ''certainly not roleplaying''. This wiki is an encyclopedia. When you open up a standard encyclopedia you would find on a shelf in your classroom or library, do you find advertisements for contests or arbitrary fictional works? No, you don't. That example holds true for the wiki. The ''Kingdom Hearts'' Wiki is an online encyclopedia designed to cover all aspects of the ''Kingdom Hearts'' sphere in great depth and breadth in a clear, easily presentable fashion. Having "roleplaying" on the wiki doesn't help us improve the wiki at all.
| |
|
| |
| While you claim to understand this, it would appear most evident that you do not see this situation in the full scope of the wiki. The sheer fact that you come to the wiki to try to start roleplay out of ''sheer boredom'' is not a good sign; it shows a misunderstanding of what the wiki is, as it is certainly not a playground. You say that such an activity would inspire ''editors'' to stick around. Umm, no. Not at all. I don't even think the Mirage Arena has attracted a plethora of new users. What we'll attract is a ton of WikiPrincesses who will shun editing, encourage activities that do not help the wiki grow, and ultimately, editing will be undermined by roleplayers. These roleplayers sticking around doesn't help the wiki either.
| |
|
| |
| Such a plan, therefore, also does not increase team editing efficiency. If anything, it will inhibit it, possibly by quite a significant amount. That's the opposite of good, people. ''Bad''.
| |
|
| |
| We should actually be very grateful that users interested in sharing fanart, roleplaying, and, well, ''WikiPrincessing'' are being attracted to the ''Kingdom Hearts'' Wikia right now. They are finding a wiki that suits their desires more while keeping our community work-oriented. I will oppose ideas that try to break this division considerably, such as this one, negatively affecting both wikis' communities.}}

| {{Galexgan|time=19:52, 9 June 2011 (EDT)|terra2= Was that a plot for a video game or a roleplay? Hahaha. Either way there could be some large inconsistencies. Especially with the setup for Nobodies. The biggest point being that Xemnas controlled Nothing and nobodies are that of Nothing, it's not entirely crazy to say that Xemnas controlled some of the Organization members a little more than just by telling them to go do something. But then again, they often got in the way of his plans so I doubt it. A second issue is that to knowledge all Nobodies of lesser power went to the Organization XIII and those that were more powerful were recruited by the Organization as a memeber. Issue with ahving a ton of new powerful humanoid nobodies in the organization is that according to Xemnas, the organization is Organization XIII and would always remain that way. (As seen in a conversation in 358/2 Days shortly before Xion's defeat I believe.) The reason I picked the keyblade war era is because there are no set cannon rules to limit much of what we do. We can twist some things so long as they sound legit enough and it provides all characters the opportunity to be a keyblade weilder. We can take what little we do know as guidelines but it is not neccesarily impossible to say that lesser or more powerful Nobodies existed during that time as the pureblood heartless would I believe also exist. There is just no Organization XIII. Information of Nobodies and Heartless would again potentially allow a future Xehanort to perfect his plans to stick around to open Kingdom Hearts. Though he'll innevitably fail just by the weakness of his heart at the hands of Sora and/or Riku I'll assume will happen sometime in cannon. To create a story in the middle of current cannon enacts almost too many rules that would have to be kept to ensure the factuality of events happening. However fun a game it would be. My biggest thing is the keyblade war would be epic too because characters would probably have the Keyblade Armor! I mean that's just cool, to design your own armor, character, keyblade(s), in an almost entirely free to decide the outcome of Hingdom Hearts universe. Though the outcome of the final events are set to happen and are to be a fail safe to finish things off if the story should die down to a point of near no return. }}

| I fail to see how hosting it on the Wikia would hurt it. {{The Inexistentsig}} 19:52, 9 June 2011 (EDT)

| That wasn't a plot at all. It was designed to have no plot. Like I said, it was based off of the scenario in PotC Online. And, like I said, it you could join ''an'' organization, not necissarily ''the'' organization. In addition, like I said, it would be extremely difficult to achieve this level of Nobody, so there wouldn't be 10,000 of them. {{The Inexistentsig}} 19:57, 9 June 2011 (EDT)

| {{DTN|time=20:02, 9 June 2011 (EDT)|text=@TIN: Yes, I only mean that hosting it here will hurt both. You can go ahead and slap this thing over on the Wikia if their community agrees and approves.

| |
| I'd prefer that you two not continue discussing a roleplay that, as it looks already from discussion, will likely not be hosted on this wiki here. If you wish to present the idea to KHWikia, please move the conversation there. You could also open up an IRC Channel or external chat program for this conversation. Thank you.}}

| I can agree with The Inexistent, upon having pointed out the WikiPrincessing draw that this would potentially create on being posted on this one, I see that it could be harmful, but I think that you fail to see exactly how a bit of social team building affects the end results of a project. There is no I in team as you'll often hear but a team who is closely knit understands one another better and works better together so as to get past one another's odd tendencies. An example is that if I wasn't a long-ish term member of the wiki I would have been offended by your statement, DTN, as it could be considered a personal attack, however I look past that to see that it is a stance in order to protect the long term life and quality of the wiki. It's alot of work that could possibly go down the drain should a large portion of wiki-princessing begin to rise here. I appreciate the enthusiasm and opinion of an experienced and really long time editor. I simply wanted to propose an idea that I thought perhaps beneficial to the members of the wiki on a more social level, more than chatting on IRC or talking on Facebook or whatnot. I wanted to open another avenue for the wiki. As a Kingdom Hearts fanatic I want to see this wiki succeed as well. I've trusted it for years when I needed info or explanation on the series, and I want to also help ensure that there is a large fact based website in which one can come for specific details on whatever it is their looking for. I simply did not realise the potential harm that an avenue creating wiki-princessing would bring to us, and I don't want to to happen so I would love to discuss a place in which this could occur, so that a wiki member can enjoy this avenue of team building without the harm of the wiki.{{User:Galexgan/sig}}20:12, 9 June 2011 (EDT)

| In my humble opinion, I'd actually thought about opening one of these at the old adress. I think it would be beneficial to the fan-oriented community, so, Galexgan, please, do not be afraid to present it to the comunity. You'll have my support there at the wikia.--'''[[User:Dark-EnigmaXIII|Dark-En]][[User talk:Dark-EnigmaXIII|igmaXIII]] 20:48, 9 June 2011 (EDT)

| Cool cool. Noting the optimism I'll be heading over to the old wiki to give it a post. See what the ideas are, and just for members sake, report back the final whereabouts or status that the roleplay is going through here. Just to keep those who don't check the old wiki informed. Copy+paste here we go... {{User:Galexgan/sig}}23:38, 9 June 2011 (EDT)

| == The Roleplay Update==
| |
|
| |
| I have two things to report...
| |
| 1. I have not recieved any replies back from the Wikia wiki as for some odd reason my topic is posted but does not appear in the forums. I can find it by looking in the pages I'm following but looking in the regular forums it does not appear in the Gummi Garage on that site. Even after purging. That's atleast for me. And there are no responses anyway to it... Think I should try posting it in the Twilight Town forum?
| |
| &
| |
| 2. On the GaiaOnline site I had a dead guild I created a while back which I now tunred into a skin example for the roleplay and some set ideas I had previously. It remains mostly blank in order to remain open for ideas from others. Here is the URL... http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds-home/kingdom-hearts-wiki-s-the-keyblade-war-rp/g.343175/
