Just like with last year's year end celebratory event, feedback is in order! We want to know ''everything'' from ''everyone''. Knowing what you thought about this year's event helps us plan later ones in the future--however, we definitely will get more involved with the community in selecting an event next time, since that was a definite issue with some users who feared this would compete with a similar event going on in the Mirage Arena. Basically, tell us what you thought about it, how everything was ran, how votes and comments were mandated, how characters moved up, and much, much more... please, of course. Here are some basic questions if you don't know what to write:

*Wile edits to TKW certainly spammed the Recent Changes sometimes, I don't think it distracted from too much; most people got their votes out of the way quite quickly. As for distracting from the move, I could see how that would be possible, but there were other things interfering with that as well (some of which still are, like collecting information for the revote).
*While anons are certainly welcome to contribute, TKW is a ''communtity'' event. Anons aren't part of our actual community, and it isn't hard at all to just sign up. Allowing any signed-in user to vote seems like a decent compromise to me. While there were a few votes that were less than pleasant, I wholly support letting people votes without restrictions. I'm actually deeply impressed by how well the community did at being civil for the most part<!--Even I lost my temper here and there. It's a contest, it's to be expected in doses-->. We may want to look into doing away with that sentence limit in the Mirage Arena, since it didn't seem to affect TKW that much (but that's a subject for another Forum/Talk page).
*I thought it was handled very well, though there should have been a slightly longwr line-of-succession for setting up the matches. Kind of a backup plan in case the organizers were out-of-commision. Would have averted the delays.
*Can't complain with a randomizer, I thought the match-ups were done well, and the progression worked the way a tournament should.
*I could have done with less of the "nice tits"<!--Tifa--> or other sexual votes in general, but I still think it's better to let people vote how they want. If I have a problem with the vote, I'll verbally destory you<!--or you'll turn it back on me--> in the comments, that's how America works! 
*1) Very fun and open event that involved the entire community. 2) Well organized, despite a few hiccups. 3) Attracted more people to the Wiki.
*1) It was a pretty big distraction in the day or two following a new bracket's opening. 2) Some new users seem to have signed up just for TKW, one even going so far as to create sockpuppets. 3) The raging in the comments, though I don't think this was quite as big a problem as others seem to think. The flame wars were mostly isolated incidents toward the end of the event, but when they got big they got pretty darn big.
*I really like Crono's second idea, which is the only thing I think could actually top the community-friendly nature of TKW; what better way to bring the community together than having them personally wish each other a Happy New Year?<!--couple of privacy issues come to mind, but it would be volutary--> A user popularity contest seems like it would do the opposite, glorifying individual users instead of the whole community. Anyway, we'll decide on that when the time comes.
*Mmm... I didn't really have a problem with the way it was orgnized this time (I mean, haveing everyone in on it is like planning your own surprise party), but that was a bit of a fauz pas with the clash with the MA's Joint Struggle. The only way to improve it I can think of is kind of like the staff elections were held; Have thecommunity give ideas, and then let the organizers select from those. Preferably without numbered votes; just have the list of ideas and a normal comments section for feedback. That way it won't be instatly obvious what the community wants (i.e. SURPRISE!, the entire point of the event). Another failsafe against predictability could be that, like the elections, the organizers choose from the top, say three, most popular.

All in all, I really enjoyed this, and I think it was better as a community event than Namine's Draw-off (don't get me wrong, I ''loved'' Naime's Draw-off), since it literally brought the whole community in, not just the artists.}}

So, yeah. The Keyblade War was great. I think it was a well-handled, amusing, awesome celebration for the end of 2010 and the dawn of 2011. About those topics...

#Yes, the Keyblade War did indeed distract us. Honestly, I think if it weren't for TKW, we would have moved and had all this SEIWA stuff set up already. It's okay though, I've heard that we're just one step away from moving.
#Not allowing anons was fine. That's how we roll in the MA, so I think it went fine. I notice a lot of people made accounts when TKW started... looks like they figured out they could still vote. ^^'
#Honestly, I don't think another Keyblade War should be for a while. Too much of an awesome thing makes it.. well, less awesome. Like the Final Fantasy Wiki from which TKW was <s>ripped off</s> inspired, we should wait 2, maybe 3 years until the next one. Hopefully by then the next Kingdom Hearts will have new characters to compete :)
#Whoo, voting issues. Well, one big thing was the images and sigs, but that was fixed with the new policy. I guess I kinda got irritated by un-signed votes or votes without links, but it was mostly cool. I know lots of people bitched about getting votes for "sexy" (and they will bitch here, too). Seriously, it's just a website about a video game. Get over yourselves.
#What I didn't like about TKW... Well, in the beginning, I didn't vote as much as I could have, honestly because of all the n00bs. New users popped up by the hundreds and voted. It was as easy to get an edit conflict as it is to get an STD in a stripper orgy over there. Inappropriate analogy aside, it got better near the end, in which I started to vote. Not sure how, but that problem kind of solved itself. The sockpuppet fiasco was irritating, though; I wanted Saix to get further. F*cking cheaters.
#Another year-end event.. Hm, now this is a biggie. Maybe a user popularity contest..? Or a bunch of users can take pictures of themselves, or even videotape clips of holiday greetings, and we could mash them all together into one huge holiday slideshow/short film. That'd be cool.
#I don't think there is much more that could be done to make TKW any more awesome. Seriously, it was awesome nuggets. Good job, Doorsey/everyone-who-worked-on-it-but-whose-names-I-don't-remember-at-this-moment. Biscuit.

I think that Oasis was such a shock we couldn't help from noticing it, and TKW probably didn't have a significant impact on it. However, at the same time, our Re:coded coverage came a bit late and slowly, which may have been a result of this.

I am glad we did not allow anons, but at the same time was disturbed that so many new users made accounts only to participate in this; perhaps we could create a way to help those users find something constructive to do on the wiki next time? Also, a similar issue for me was the raging that went on in the Battle Observatories at times. I really did not enjoy seeing users posting walls of text complaining about losses and unfair reasons for votes. I'm against censoring messages in a social event like this, but seriously. I even added ''be civil'' to the rules.

I liked the progression, worked perfectly, and a randomizer made everything run smoothly. If this was to be repeated, my concern would be grouping the characters again, in case new characters are not so easy to simply group by game. Thirty-two characters from one game can be surprisingly limiting!

I particularly enjoyed that TKW was a long event that spanned over two and a half months and involved the entire community; like Lapis said, this was more community-friendly than the fanart contest. The only thing I did not like was the difficulty in maintenance. I was uploading brackets by myself for most of the time, and it would have been great if others users could be there for backup more easily, or if we could work more as a team.

Oh, another thing I liked: the artwork. Maggosh and KingdomKeyDarkside, you guys are truly awesome for your work and images, I cannot thank you enough. As for future year-end events, I do not think we should repeat this next year, as we probably will not have many more new characters, and Aqua will claim another crown. Also, we want to have some variety. I like Crono's suggestion, but I'm not sure how involved the community could be with that in comparison to the fanart contest and TKW.

Lastly, the true winner here is Room Core, who showed up in the destroyed Badlands, petrified Aqua, and easily became the true winner of the Keyblade War. Congratulations, Room Core, you deserve it!}}

{{Soxra|roxas=I do agree that the anons registering to vote was just... meh... but, yeah. It was kind of an implied covenant to the entire thing.

I also think that too much raging went in the Observatories. It just got out of hand.

But TKW was a BLAST! It was so much fun just to watch the characters fight for their futures. I honestly enjoyed every minute of it!

So here's my list of pros:
#Super fun.
#Great idea, the character battle is one that shall never get old.
#Though a couple deadlines were missed, it was generally well-managed and the sockpuppeting was dealt with maturely and logically.
#It was well-advertised throughout the Wiki and had great user participation.

Cons:
#Anons just hopping in for their say and leaving.
#*Sockpuppeting, too.
#Raging in the Observatories.
#There wasn't a whole lot to do from Saturday-Thursday. Not sure how this could be overcome, if at all.
#There will never be any end-of-the-year this awesome again.

First off, I'm one of the anons who registered because of this; feel free to throw rotten fruit.  However, I'd been around reading for a while, and I'll still be around (most likely on the new one though).

Yes, the "OMG AQUA IS SEXI" votes sucked, but that was to be expected as much as "MANSEX" and other idiotic votes; people can vote how they want, and there's really nothing you could do about that.

In terms of the flame wars in the comments, quite frankly, I just avoided those sections by habit, so I didn't see an issue.

Great job in planning by all the admins/mods/really awesome people; thanks for an enjoyable event!}}

Bad stuff: I can't think of anything really. It's just that I don't know that if the ones in charge of the event double checked the voting or not, but maybe not since I heard that Tidus is supposed to have passed a certain match although I can't remember which.

I am also a new user because of TKBW(i would edit the mainspace, but it will not let me on this account for some reason). Yes, the "Mansex" and "AQUA=HAWT" votes were annoying, there was sockpuppeting (although it was very well-handled), and the flame wars did rage on (someone should make a template of Roxas/Ven/Aqua/whoever saying "SHUT UP!" whenever something like that happens lol), but overall it was a great success. I don't know if it's possible but if we could have an event that had to do with the Multiplayer concept of BbS? I'm just saying this as a concept not an official idea... at least for now. But if we could use the Multiplayer system of BbS with a large group of users in the wiki and set an actual "Keyblade War". Lame, right?

I had already made an account before it started, and TKW actually increased my desire to go on, resulting in more time spent editing as well (see [[Gallery: Roxas]]).
