In the midst of their battle, Roxas and Aqua's quarrel became airborne several times. However, as Roxas tried to bring their match to an early end with his Event Horizon, Aqua was able to Cartwheel out of the way, taking only minor additions to her major injuries. The mage was able to blast the Nobody with a flurry of holy and burning magic during his time of weakness, which brought him to his knees in defeat. Meanwhile, the violent battle between Riku and the King was becoming even more disastrous. As symbolically their two Keyblades of darkness clashed, tendrils of the force crept around them. But once Mickey tried to envelop Riku in light with Pearl, Riku was able to escape through a corridor of darkness.
