Editing Forum:Cooperation with a KH news site

The idea is simple: Instead of writing our own news let's link a news site here that does that better than us, like it's done on [http://www.zeldawiki.org Zelda Wiki] for example. The Trinity Archives are hardly updated with game news and if the website links back to us we could benefit from more traffic. We would keep some sort of wiki noticeboard for internal or SEIWA news of course.<br>
Possible candidates are:
#[http://kh13.com/ KH13] - They offered the Wikia a partnership, but it was declined. KH13 links to a lot of Keyhole's pages for their background information part at the moment. The site is often updated and has many firsthand Japanese sources.
#[http://www.khinsider.com/ Kingdom Hearts insider] - There were endeavours in the past to affiliate with this site, but the negotiations came to nothing, although I don't know what the problem was. KHInsider is also often updated and nicely written. They have Japanese translators, artists and sources.
#[http://www.kh2.co.uk/ Kingdom Hearts Ultimania] - One of the oldest KH sites around, often updated and nicely written. KHU has a more commercial touch than the other two sites but they have some really interesting articles, although we had one of our latest terminology argument with them.
#[http://kh-vids.net/ KH-Vids.net] - The site with the biggest KH video archive available, I think everyone here knows their translated KHIIFM videos on youtube. The news are up-to-date and they have an active community, I want to point out their Code Vault especially, a forum where really interesting hacks (and codes of course) for the different games are developed.

I don't know how these websites see us, would even work with us or if a majority here thinks this would be a good idea. I also don't how how complicate the technical implementation would turn out, so it's just a thought experiment at this point. I think all three would be good choices, though I usually prefer to use KH Ultimania and KHInsider, because of their layouts. As long as there's no more crap about "Somebodies", or whatever the hell they had a problem with regarding the wiki, it's definitely something to go for.  --{{User:Neumannz/SigTemplate}} 04:12, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

So let's make a little update on this topic. Porplemontage was so nice to install an updated RSS feed plugin here, so theoretically we could begin with negotiations. The window on the main site could look like this:

There are still problems. The formating of the date isn't working as described on the [http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:RSS plugin's page] so it looks odd at the moment. Also KH Ultimania is the only site that has a real RSS new feed, KH13 doesn't seem to have one anymore and KHInsider and KH-Vids only use an RSS feed on their forums. While it's possible to filter out the news there too (because every news text gets an forum entry) it doesn't look very good at the moment. --[[User:ShardofTruth|ShardofTruth]] 22:35, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
