I was thinking the blogs have gone a bit far so i started this petetion i'd like to see if people want them to stay or go Firaga44 02:01, October 6, 2009 (UTC)

We actually had a topic on this ages back...I think we didn't notify Wikia in time to halt the blog from coming on this wiki.  Supposedly there's coding to at least keep blog updates from showing up else where, but it seems not to work very well. :I say it's best if they actually go. I've got a to-do list which I hardly ever look at. And by the way, for most bloggers, a blog is like a home. What's the point of having a home if you can't decorate it ? Not only are the posts all black and white (mostly), there's no HTML customisation and it's hosted on the kingdomhearts.wikia domain name - which is a no-no for a personal blog. Wikia really shouldn't have made the move... unless there's gonna be some use for it, which I really don't know. Hi.  Blogs can be very useful... but it depends very much on each community.  One possibility here is that you need to define what they should actually be used for.  For example, I've seen them used for [http://redwall.wikia.com/wiki/Category:September_2009_News news], Wikia staff use them for [http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Blog:Wikia_Staff_Blog announcements], and I've seen them used for fanon, or opinions, or...  

You as a community can decide what to use them for and, more importantly, you can regulate that.  You don't have to put up with [[User_blog:Khgurl/Sometimes,_my_brother_could_be_such_a_jerk...|off topic stuff]] if you don't want to (although if that's what you want to use them for, that's fine too).  Admins and the community can decide what is acceptable and what isn't, just as you already do for articles.

But then, on the other hand, they might not be right for this community.  If that's what you decide, then that's fine too :)  Just let us know via [[Special:Contact]] when you are sure, and we will turn them off for this wiki. Yeah, we really don't need blogs here.  I don't mind being friendly with my fellow editors, but this is not the place to express your personal lives.  The blogs take away from the main goal of the wiki, and just cause unnecessary drama.  You should be here to improve the wiki, this isn't Myspace/Facebook.
