===Keyblade War character contest===
{{TheFifteenthMember|time={{User:TheFifteenthMember/Sig1}} 22:38, 4 September 2015 (UTC)|default=Celebrating the recent KHUX, my idea is a contest that involves small groups of three to collaborate and create their own Keyblade Wielder present at the time of the Keyblade War (similar to a roleplay).

The way it works is each person in a group contributes one creative piece that shows a certain aspect of the character and when the three creative pieces are looked at together, we understand the character in a fuller picture. I use the term "creative piece" loosely to encourage as many types as possible: fanfics, stories, monologues, diary entries, comic strips, character portraits, art, collages, musical tracks, and whatever else you can think of. For example, one group could have a portrait of the character, a backstory, and a Keyblade design.

There will be a group of impartial judges who anonymously score each group's work and from that, we get a winner. The scoring could have certain marking brackets, something like a score out of 10 marks for each individual piece, 5 marks for the overall connectivity and shared themes between them, and 5 marks for variety between creative pieces (to avoid something like three stories). These categories aren't set in stone. If marking individually is too harsh, we could do a combined score of the group's entire collection. The bonus categories could change too.

I understand that collaborating to create one character might be something that could get somewhat sensitive or argumentative, so randomly selecting groups as we done in the past might not work out. On one hand, random grouping makes sure no one feels left out but on the other hand, choosing your own group would mean partnering up with similar-minded people, which would make teamwork a lot smoother. I think that we should get the best of both. If people wish, they can form their own group and all sign up together or they can choose to sign their name under a "Put me in a group!" section which will be randomised to generate groups. 

This is a fairly ambitious event that demands quite a lot from people so if we decide on this idea, the earlier we begin, the better. We want as much time for the work to be done as possible, perhaps begin November, judge mid-December and results come out in magazine?

{{Draaek|time={{User:Draaek/Sig}} 00:02, 5 September 2015 (UTC)|Dragon=I do like how that idea sounds (and I would personally love to design some keyblades after a few artworks I've seen) but I only see one tiny problem. If someone from the group doesn't get its part on time then the whole team is going to get affected. Since this requires long term work I'd say we make sure that anyone who signs up fully commits on going till the end OR we can have a sign up area for those who don't really want to fully participate but would gladly fill in should someone need to retire early from the competition.

Besides that I think all your points are good enough FM, however the judging part will need more opinions to make sure everyone is fine with them.}}

The "Fill-in" sign up section sounds good and I guess we could change the scoring system so that a group with only two pieces won't be penalised as much (although they'll probably get 1/5 for variety and teamwork so that third person has still stuffed up a lot). It's a trust exercise! I'd also say that if a person thinks they can't finish the job, they should quit ASAP so another person can fill in quickly.

Also, four points:
*How do people feel about this marking scheme: 5 marks for each individual piece (reduced to five so individuals are less pressured), 5 marks for how connected the pieces are (essentially marks for teamwork), 5 variety marks (how out of the box are their choices of creative piece), giving a total of 25.
*If people can't commit time to participating, do sign up as a judge! The more judges we have, the fairer the scores will be!
*How private/public do we want it to be? Do we want teams to communicate off-wiki and keep their ideas a secret to build to a big reveal? Or should we be relaxed with it? Personally, I'd let each group decide how public they want to make themselves.
*When should we start? I think we should have signups throughout October, begin the event in November, collect everyone's work mid-December and have a judging week from roughly the 15th-22th, leaving another week for the results to be put into the magazine.}}

*I would go with 10 marks for at least the individual pieces. It gives judges the option of having different grades of "good". For example, with 5 marks, only 4 counts as "good", as 5 is "perfect" and 3 is "average". However, with 10 marks, 7, 8, and 9 all are "good".
*I'm not very creative myself, so I'd like to sign up as a judge. How exactly are the scores handled? Do the judges decide on one score together, or do they give a score each?
*I'd let the group decide it themselves. Like you said, it's not secret, and since it's about original characters, groups can't copy the other's work.
*I think that sounds good. We could even have an announcement in the upcoming magazine.
*I'm not really sure we should have a "Fill-in" section. On one side, if one person in the group doesn't have time, he/she can be replaced, but on the other side, there may be no need to replace anyone and the Fill-in users can't participate in the event. Maybe we should make it so that if one person can't finish, or won't respond, the other two members of the group can create the third piece themselves.

*10 marks for each piece? If that's what everyone agrees, okay then. What will we actually be looking for when judging? The polish and quality of the piece? The ideas or themes in it? Its enjoyability? Or a mixture of all? I'm not sure what direction we're taking but it might be a good idea to break down the marks for each piece further.
*I imagined that there'd be a google forms like last year and judges send their scores through that. Then, they can be totalled (maybe averaged) for a group's final score. Does anyone else want to host the google forms this year? And who wants to write the magazine article? I have no problem doing both but if anyone has a problem with me competing and hosting the scores, I have no problem with handing the job over to someone else. Likewise, I would like to do the write-up for the magazine at the end but someone else can do it if they want.

:Should we tweak it so that groups only have to produce two creative pieces and the third person is just for advice or quality control? Alternatively, we just work in pairs (and that's the option I prefer). Originally, I hoped for at least three groups but if that's not possible, let's push for two groups so we have some contest going on. We should pitch the group sign ups to people with more free time and the judging aspect to less-committed people. Also, we really need a person to head the event. My free time is suddenly quite meagre so I don't want to commit to too much, especially because I'm already running the magazine, but I'll take the lead if no one else puts themselves forward. {{User:TheFifteenthMember/Sig1}} 13:19, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
