Dumbo is born in a circus, where he is laughed at by the other elephants for his abnormally large ears. He eventually becomes the star of the circus after he learned to fly.


Dumbo survives the destruction of his homeworld, but only as the [[Watergleam Gem]], which wound up in Monstro where it is found by Sora. Sora takes the gem to the [[Fairy Godmother]] in [[Traverse Town]], and she activates the gem to allow Dumbo to assist Sora as a summon. After the Keyblade wielder seals Kingdom Hearts, Dumbo returns to his home world.

Apparently being the sole survivor of the destruction of his world, like several other summon characters, Dumbo's spirit survived in the form of the Watergleam Gem, which Sora discovered while trapped inside [[Monstro]]. Upon giving it to the [[Fairy Godmother]] in [[Traverse Town]], she restores Dumbo's spirit and Sora learns his summon. After Xehanort's Heartless was defeated and Kingdom Hearts was sealed, Dumbo most likely returned to his world.

Dumbo appears as a [[summon card]] after clearing Monstro's [[Room of Truth]]. When his card is used, Dumbo appears in battle and douses enemies to deal [[Blizzard (element)|ice damage]]. Stocking multiple Dumbo cards create the [[Splash Lv2]] and [[Splash Lv3]] sleights, which increase the effectiveness of the attack and allows the player to control its aim.
<br />When Sora summons Dumbo in [[Neverland]], Dumbo is able to fly freely in the air instead of just hovering around.


Dumbo can also be used as part of magic sleights that require the use of any summon card, including [[Confuse]], [[Gifted Miracle]], [[Tornado]], and [[Terror]] when the party is in [[Halloween Town]].

==Origin==
Dumbo is the main protagonist of the 1941 Disney animated film of the same name.


In the film, Dumbo is originally named "Jumbo Jr." by his mother, Mrs. Jumbo, but ridiculed by everyone for his abnormally big ears. After his mother is locked away after attacking some boys who were bullying her son, Dumbo is befriended by Timothy Mouse, who becomes determined to make Dumbo happy again after the other elephants abandon him. With Timothy's help, Dumbo eventually discovers his ability to fly with his ears and becomes a superstar at the circus. He is reunited with his mother at the end.
